ProcessTamer / Re: Process Tamer Setup says not a Win32 program

Yeah, we're not exacly sure why this happens, but apparently it only happens with ie (which get us to blame them ;) ).

With omnipage, you couldn't copy the address and paste it in firefox?

Yeah, i think windows update also can only run in ie, it's sad when people do that, specially because it doesn't allow me to use my beloved opera ;)

Ok, following your post, you should create a shortcut that has something like this on it's target:

OpenTodaysFolder.exe i:\

That would be OK sounds a good idea especially around midnight it would come in handy
Yep, that's exactly what i though.

PS: notice that i already posted the solution on my post above! ;)

Ok, done.

I attached to this post, both the source and the compiled version. (to run the source you need autohotkey)

To run it, just create a shortcut to it and pass it as argument the parent folder of the dated folders.

How about if today's folder isn't found, yesterday's folder is opened, or if that one isn't found either, the parent folder is opened?

After you decompress those 2 files with winrar, they should contain .iso files. To burn those 2 files to a cd (or a dvd, depending on their size), you can use imgburn.

Oh man.. That just proves that i have good reasons to hate antivirus software!

About adding gridmove and farr's directory to the exclusions, well.. Everyone knows that neither has viruses (and won't have in the future ;) ). What I'm not sure about is if there are any chances of a virus that comes from other software crawling into any of those 2 dirs.

Cool!!

A totally unexpected mini-review, now that's nice.
Too bad that i don't cook (i should learn someday, though! ;)). But I'm sure it'll be VERY useful for the people in the following thread:
What's the best program for cooking and recipe management?

Whoa.. That spellchecker is really cool! I just installed it.
Too bad it doesn't spellcheck on real time, you have to press a button for it it to check the spelling.

Cool review, TucknDar!
I've seen some stuff similar to this, but nothing as comprehensive, that looks like it has so many combinations that there's no way you'll find a banner just like yours.

I specially like this part of your review:
This is not the reason why I've decided to make this mini-review, so I won't include my affiliate mail in this review
That shows that you really like the software ;)

It will, lanux. It was tested under ie, ff and opera.

Find And Run Robot / Re: [Bug report?] farr - short freeze every 6 launch/close
« Last post by jgpaiva on January 18, 2008, 04:52 AM »
I must say this is an incredible saga. While i do understand that antivirus DO slow windows activities, i never thought it might have this kind of impact.

Still, you should pay attention to something:
if nod32 has that kind of impact on (read/)write operations
That isn't the problem, it only has impact on (read/)write INI operations, which isn't that anoying.

Now, what i find strange is why does mouser's computer behave correctly with farr and nod32, and yours (armando), doesn't.

About comodo... I think that if it was causing delays too, maybe it has some kind of antivirus "feature" that was activated and sure wasn't needed.

Oh, those 3 seconds are perfectly normal.
As are those copy/move numbers.

Regarding the fact that the process with the most usage is the System process, that's normal, since the program uses the system call for reading ini files.

I meant opening a thread about your computer taking too long for writing ini files, as i've never seen anything like that :(

Coding Snack Guidelines / Re: IDEA: copy last text field inside a browser
« Last post by jgpaiva on January 17, 2008, 06:21 PM »
You'd be surprised on how often this happens.
There are several threads here on DC reporting the same problem and asking for solutions.

Mine would be: use opera. When i click a wrong button, i press "back" (or "forward", if i pressed the "back" button inadvertedly), and the text is still there. The only situations it can't solve is when i press "reload", or the browser crashes.

Regarding your request, i'm not sure how it can be done, but maybe you're right, maybe there even is an extension for firefox that does that.

Ok, so that explains the problem with farr. Curiously, it doesn't explain the problem with gridmove, as it only READS in the section that causes you problems, and the read times you posted look pretty average.

Regarding the fix for the slow read times, maybe you should open a new thread?

Have you noticed other programs taking too long to write files? How about moving stuff from that disk to another and back?

From what i understand, there are several requests to have php (or gnupg) on M2.
I'm an M2 user, and i'm not quite sure i'd use it, because i don't find much use for it. On the other hand, if it was supported by all major email clients, it'd become widelly used and i'f have use for it ;)

PS: It'd be fun to receive all DC e-mails encrypted (if M2 had this feature), at least gmail wouldn't be able to read ALL my emails :)

That's the part i don't like, curt. I also think we should add that image, even though it feels like "selling out" to apple's demands...

Notice that i think you did well in posting this, i just got mad at apple!

That's not what i meant, curt. I understood it was an option, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a stupid atribute name.

What i complained what that they want website designers to work for them because they didn't feel like adding a "configure this link" option.
