timns: most of time, those "awards" are really only the sites trying to get the link back from your site to theirs, and they really haven't tested the software.

Unfortunately, i can't help you with testing under vista :(

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: GridMove isn't working with iTunes
« Last post by jgpaiva on January 22, 2008, 04:15 AM »
Yeah, that's the reason safe mode is disabled by default. Unfortunatelly, there isn't much i can do about that, that's the developer's fault for using non-standard windows looks.

There's a solution, though. If you'd like, you can add the miniplayer's class to the exceptions entry in gridmove.exe.ini. To obtain that class, use winspector or use windowspy if you have autohotkey installed.

What i think is really interesting about this, isn't the look of the thing. You can use themes to make it look exactly like what you like. There even are a few mac osx imitations, and i'm sure that if the windows project gets off the ground, they'll make a win98 theme to show people how while using the same graphic elements, they can have better technology. (at least, i hope they do).

Just take a look at the article, and you'll see the main point of the thing isn't the looks but the inner works.

Something i forgot to mention previously: the file manager still sucks, when compared to the windows alternatives :(

JGPaiva's GridMove and Ahk Tools / Re: GridMove isn't working with iTunes
« Last post by jgpaiva on January 21, 2008, 07:09 PM »
The reason it doesn't work with those windows is because those aren't standard windows, are themed. If you go to the options and disable "safe mode", you should be able to move those. On the other hand, you'll be able to move other windows that aren't supposed to be moved (windows that shouldn't be resizable, that is), so, be careful ;).

PS: if you move some window you didn't want to move, switch to the edge grid and drop that window on the "last size" grid element, it'll move the window to the size it had before it was moved the last time.

oh, mhb.. You're probably right.
That means there's something i misunderstood.

nogojoe: does the downloader create a series of nested folders, so that you have something like this:

      10
      31

Ok, i have now read the whole article and i'm very happy with what i read. The term "cross-platform" and its synonyms kept appearing, and i think that's a huge step towards tomorrow's technologies.
Even though it sure isn't a polished project, the ideas look very inovative and interesting, let's now hope people will love it as much as the reviewer did ;)

This is a very well written article, and next time i see an article by Ars Technica, i'll be sure to read it. Thanks lashiec!!

QT4!!! Portable!!! Cross-Platform!!!

*jgpaiva* cheers with hopes on a bright new future!

Ok, now seriously:
This is very good news, and i hope i'll be able to test KDE4 on windows very soon (as currently, a look at their page really gives the impression that it's something very unstable)

This is a very good step for the linux people too, if they get more windows people to use kde, linux might get even more users (since the biggest problem is always the interface leap).

Oh... Oops. To edit them, you just go into the folder and edit the .xml. Or ou move them from "installed" to "mycustom" and then edit them from farr.

I'll try to fix those in a few days.

Ok, I solved my own problem. Evernote now doesn't have 2 products, instead they have a single product, which after the trial period (60 days) loses features and becomes the trial version.

Armando: you mentioned the free version of evernote, but i'm unable to find it at their site.. Is it an older version?

;D ;D ;D

hum, come to think of it, *wounders* may have something to do with my skinned OS?
Ill reset the theme and try again
That's be a bit strange too, given that i also use a theme that isn't the default windows theme. I don't use any 3rd party program, though, i used the windows patch.

Yes, i can resize from ALL corners and ALL edges. Are you sure that isn't happening only with some misbehaving app?

It even got featured on LifeHacker! =D
miniMIZE looks good!

PS: GridMove also was featured in lifehacker :)
1847
I thought that was what i understood from your first post. The reason why i asked is because i can resize any window from any corner or edge... Strange.

[shameless plug]
If you're interested in stuff that helps you to quickly resize windows, you most probably will be interested in my own GridMove.
