It may be a bit of overkill for your needs -- it's quite powerful and perfect for extracting regular expression matched strings from a file (like email addresses, etc.).

  • [Feature] You can now ask SC to autosave scans as PDF files in a specific directory, and to auto-open if desired.
  • [Feature] New PDF save button on scanner toolbar saved current image to specific directory; can be used to save multiple images to one multi-page pdf.
  • [BugFix] Toolbar positions were sometimes not being remembered.

Everyone knows that I (and DC in general) love the tower defense game genre, where you place defensive towers on a map to defend against wave after wave of attacking forces.  It's just the right level of interactivity and attention for my tastes.

And now comes the 4th in a series of 3 increasingly well done tower defense games based on the "Bloons" series, which is notable for it's high production values and excellent cartoony graphics.

You can read about the first three releases here on DC, or jump to the review of Bloons Tower Defense 4 on JayIsGames.com:

Graphics have improved tremendously, especially with the new monkey ace and monkey buccaneer towers. The new upgrades are fabulous, especially the fifth level upgrades. A wonderful addition is the use of military stripes to indicate how much a tower has been upgraded, eliminating the need to click on every tower to see what level it is at. Old favorites are still along for the ride, such as the super monkey's plasma vision and the ever popular flying monkey blitz attack. A lot of effort has gone into making this a fun, fantastic experience.

  • [BugFix] Sometimes CHS would not paste into last active window.
  • [MinorFeature] Improved option to autorepair DB on startup.
  • [Feature] Added text-export command in File menu.
  • [Feature] Icon changes/flashes during clipboard capture to help visually show that a clip has been captured.

Notable in this release is a fix of long-time bug that caused CHS to sometimes fail to paste into the active application, and a new Export function that will save the currently visible clips to a text file -- useful for backing up your favorite clips in case of emergency, etc.

N.A.N.Y. 2010 / NANY 2010 Idea Thread Skwireification Embargo Policy

Normally about this time we would start a thread asking people to post ideas for utilities and programs that might be suitable for the upcoming NANY event, so programmers who are looking for ideas could get some inspiration.

However, as many of you know, DC member Skwire has gone on a coding snack bender lately, and seems addicted to writing programs that are requested in the Coding Snacks area and anywhere else he can find them.

So.. we need to enforce a new Skwireification Embargo Policy and not ask for any NANY ideas until closer to the NANY deadline (December 1 maybe).  If not i'm afraid he will start eating up all the ideas before anyone else has a chance to even see them.  With him and skrommel on the loose at the same time it would be like NANY every month.  Another solution might be to block him from this section..  ;D ;D ;D
