Skwire Empire / Re: Release: sWeather (tray-based weather app)
« Last post by Ath on January 29, 2013, 09:16 AM »
I'm using sWeather with a network-proxy both at work and at home, atm, and it has worked ever since day 1 with those configs. I can pass the proxy servers without authentication, though.
I've always assumed it uses the IE/Windows proxy settings, but I never asked nor checked :-[, but you could try that first, I guess?

I understand that that's like a mini-version of the NET framework,
so it looks like I'll have to install the full version. Is that correct?
Do you know if it's generally okay to install the full version on top of this version?
Yes, and Yes. :up:

I bought my first Android phone 2,5 years ago (and my second 6 months ago), and read the Google Android development docs with the intention of creating a killer-app, but never actually created any Android app :-[ (other than the obligatory demo-stuff).
Time and ideas are lacking..., so if you have a good idea, but no resources, I could jump into that :up:

When writing forum posts that look like essays, who do you think hope is going to read it?

Probably I don't understand...
I'm here mostly because of the technical nature of this 'beast', not to read 2 pages of text about some subject that isn't clear from the title (my fault, probably), and I usually fall asleep/stop reading about 3 sentences, because of TL;DR;
I am known (by colleagues) for long, side-tracked, technical talks, but this...

Even your answer is quite side-tracked, as in being not an answer to the question for about 90% of what you wrote...

PS, not a personal grudge against any of you, but just checking to see if you know what's happening in other people's heads. (that's where I sometimes hit just beside the nail :-[)

TL;DR;

Shouldn't you guys be writing a blog (or 2) or something? :huh:

if i want to modify my post, the subject is offered as a textbox, but cannot be changed/corrected?
Browser issue? I'm used to be able to edit the entire message, including the subject :-\
Edit: Hm, this might be a forum permission issue, can't change the subject of this message either :o

This would be a great tool to create custom unix commands to run in a Putty console.
Wouldn't a decent clip-board manager be a better solution for that?

By the way:

Firefox can't find the file at http://www.dannyg.co...avavsjavascript.html.
Hm, I found, wrote and tested that using WaterFox, the x64 incarnation of Firefox... :-\

and each and every one of these services takes that the user has Java!
Sure it's not JavaScript they're requiring? (Java is not JavaScript and reverse)

I'm not in DK, but I've had no Java plug-in installed in my browsers for years (though I have Java installed and I use it), and I can't remember any sites that wouldn't work because of it missing. :-\

This is about a screenshot made using ScreenShot Captor, right?

  • After grabbing the screenshot of the part you want to show, open it in the Graphical editor
  • Create a rectangle box around the section you want to hide
  • Choose an effect to apply to the selection from the SpecialFX menu, like "Blur Inside Selected Region" or "Interlace Inside Selected Region"
  • Save the image (best would be to set the default format to png)

See how I did my Systemtray context menu for KeepUpApp
(used a delayed, "Grab Repeat last size+pos", after first a "Grab selected Region" in the desired area)

I've found another palindrome user-number: 400004.
This time it's not a palindrome, but a nearly as nice number: 400400.

Nothing happen in my keyboard.
Hm, got something else taking that hotkey? Or does pressing the Win button require to also press another button like <Fn>, on some laptop keyboards?
You could replace the hotkey definition of ^!#4 by something simpler like ^4 so only Ctrl-4 needs to be pressed, just for testing.

Btw, what application is active when you apply the hotkey, after you have selected some text? (I've been testing with the forum-message 'Quick Reply' input-box of my browser)

This would copy the result back, replacing the selected string by the new, bracketed, string:
((c) Skwire)
Code: Autohotkey [Select]
  1. ^!#4::
  2. {
  3.     Send, ^c
  4.     ClipWait, 5
  5.     Clipboard := "*" . Clipboard . "\"
  6.     ClipWait, 5
  7.     Send, ^v
  8. }
  9. Return
"this is the text" <Select between quotes, Press ctrl-win-alt-4> -> "*this is the text\"  8)

I think is better select the text, hit the hotkey and obtain in his place the converted chain.
You won't be able to paste the text back into a web-browser, if you selected something there. (Or at least with some undesired by-effects)

Oh, I just copy/pasted and run Skwire's script and it works like a charm :Thmbsup:
