Do you have any idea what it should/might be?

You have reached <something something (company?)> building.
Unfortunately, I can't take your call at the moment but please leave message and I'll contact you as soon as possible.  Thank you.
When you've left your message, just hang up or, for more options, press 1 at anytime.

The only thing I'm unsure of is the name of the building that she mentions.

I have updated to include dropping of folders (including sub-folders) and fixed the crashing bug.

Fixes/additions confirmed here.

One thing left on the Tim's list and that was to convert backslashes to forward slashes.  Also, the app doesn't appear to process Unicode paths but I'm uncertain if that's important to Tim or not.

Nice, Chris.   :)  Couple of bugs:

  • Selecting multiple items in the list and then moving them (with the buttons) results in some odd behaviour.
  • If you select all the items in the list and then try to move them, it exits with a "Run time error 19 at line 244" message box.

The ability to drop a folder might be a nice addition, too.

As usual, 10 gigs....

Per month?   :(

Vyatta, IPCop, m0n0wall, Smoothwall Express, or pfSense

I ran FreeSCO for several years (way back) and then Smoothwall for several years after that.  Good stuff, the both of them.
1784
I run Tomato (Shibby) on my main router (ASUS RT-N66U) as well for several reasons:

1. The ability to run multiple networks (VLANs).  I use three separate networks in my house:
  • The main network that all my stuff runs on, both wired and wireless.
  • A separate, wireless-only network for guests when they visit.  This network has access to the internet only...no access to anything on the first or third networks.  This protects my stuff from any potential harm a guest device might do.
  • A third wired/wireless network for my computer workbench.  As with the second network, it has access to the internet but is firewalled from the other two.  I do this in case I'm working on somebody else's computer that might be infested with virii, malware, etc.  This way, said device can reach the internet but not harm my stuff or guest's stuff.
2. The interface.  The stock ASUS firmware, while capable, had the typical pseudo-futuristic eye-candy type of interface.  Not my thing, at all.
3. Unlimited static DHCP leases.  The stock firmware had a limit of thirty.  Hard as it may be to believe, I have over thirty devices in my house that are internet-capable.
4. Full OpenVPN support for both client and server.  I use the client portion for connecting to a paid VPN service so that all devices in the house can easily browse anonymously and I use the server portion to connect back to home while I'm traveling.
5. Bandwidth statistics.
6. As mouser mentioned, IP tracking to see stats per device.  Who is using what, basically.
1785
If they allow selecting several files at once (with shift or CTRL) that might be enough.

All the ones I've seen only play one at a time with no queuing ability.

I've been searching for them and couldn't find any yet, so if you could point me to one or two, I'd appreciate it.

XYplorer is one.
1786
There are several third-party file managers that will play audio files directly within their interfaces.  The problem that you're going to run into is that they do not have any sort of playlist handling.  That is, they will play a single file just fine but don't offer any mechanism by which to queue up multiple files for playback.  In other words, this type of functionality is mainly meant for quickly previewing a file.
1787
What about a music player that had the play-stop-pause buttons on the top of the screen and left the rest of the screen for displaying artists (i.e. in a large space) with scroll bars for overflow.
Even Windows explorer panes show multiple columns and scroll bars simultaneously in the available space

Yes, I know.  It's a matter of putting a listview into "small icons" or "list" mode.  However, you don't "play" an artist folder.  You play individual music files so, at some point, you're going to have to browse to that level of a given folder structure.  Designing an interface to do that is sort of like re-inventing the wheel since most any file manager can do what you're describing.  I mean, what's wrong with using, say, Windows Explorer to browse through your file structure and then loading up what you want in whatever player you feel comfortable with?
1788
I don't think you're going to find what you want because I don't think there is a way to do it properly in an interface.  Think about it.  At what point do your columns stop and start?  Are you saying that the visible height of a column determines the number of entries in a given column?  That is, no vertical scrollbars in any columns?  If so, what if the number of artists exceed the available space in the last column?  Where does the overflow go?  I'd think your only option would be to increase the number of entries per column by reducing the font size but, of course, you can only reduce it so far.

FWIW, I've NEVER seen what you're describing and I've tried scads of players over the years.
1789
I placed the facets.dll in the root folder of foobar

Close foobar and put the facets.dll in your foobar/components folder.  Start foobar, and you should now be able to access the Facets interface from the Library > Facets menu.  Furthermore, you can integrate the Facets interface into the main UI as well.

I noticed that the linebreaks into athe logs are losts when we export the logs to .csv.
Is it a way to fix it ?

No, the CSV library I use doesn't allow for line breaks.

Hi, Lowtone, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

I use Trout, almost everyday, since two years, and i really appreciate it. It is one of the best music player around.

Thank you for your kind words.

The "channels" column has only numbers like 1 or 2, but stays often wide because the word channels is longer than 1 or 2.
I also noticed that the width of the columns is not kept when i start the program again.

Hmmm...the column widths should be saved when closing the program.  I can resize the channels column and it saves for me.

Is it possible to have a column that says if the file si 16 or 24 bits ( or else ? )
Is it possible to have an option that allows crossfading between songs ?
Can a streaming option ( à la Shoutcast / Icecast ) be added ?

1) I can look into that.
2) I know the BASS library can do this but I've never researched it enough to figure out how.
3) So, this question is a bit murkier because there actually is a hidden Shoutcast browser in Trout.  However, it no longer works because the Shoutcast folks changed up their API and now require an API key (breaking Trout's Shoutcast browser).  There is even an Icecast browser and a simple media database in there, too.  I've never fully polished them so I've never released that functionality to the Trout minions out there.   :D

Something i haven't tested yet : do Trout knows how to use replay-gain ?
Side question : is it possible to apply a general replay-gain to all the files?

Trout does not use ReplayGain nor can it add it.  Foobar is your best bet for this.

Thanks a lot for this very useful and conveinient program

You're very welcome.  I know that I've sort of been neglecting Trout lately and I need to get it up to speed...especially with Unicode path handling.  Adding that will definitely break Windows 2000 and below compatibility but, seeing that it's 2013, I really don't care anymore.

I can confirm that the new build is looking good on my Win8 64-bit system as well...I've had it running for 3 hours and have gotten 3 updates :).

Thank you very much for the report.  I suppose this can be read that it wasn't a fluke.  =]

Skywire...you must just be that good at programming that you are able to fix things you don't even understand :P.

Hahaha...I wish; I just randomly mash the keyboard and hope the damn thing compiles at the end.   :P  Honestly, though, writing freeware is a fun hobby for me.  sWeather is fun to work on since it's one of my programs that I, personally, use.

Great program. Can't imagine life without it. Hope Microsoft pays you big time when they buy you out to integrate it into Windows 8.2 or whatever.

Ha, I should be so lucky.   ;)

Yup timer definitely working on Win 8 now too! No idea how you fixed that but thanks!

The only thing I can think of is that latest version of sWeather is compiled with the newest AutoHotkey build so maybe that fixed something internally.  I read through the AutoHotkey changelog but it didn't mention anything timer specific like that.  Who cares, though, right?

Sweet.  It's always nice when you can find a tool designed specifically for what you're doing.

last updated time is still 5 minutes before the hour from Yahoo

Yeah, I wish Yahoo updated their weather RSS feeds more often than once an hour but, for a free API, what can you do?   :D
