Well, here's obfuscated Python instead.

That must be the test input for the Python auto-indenter.  :)

Makes me think of those old "obfuscated C" contests.  The challenge with C was to make it readable.  :)

You meant Perl, right?

("Readable Perl". Actually, one could make good money with that.)

It reminds me of obfuscated C contests.  There's no need to obfuscate Perl.  I would have left my hair behind a lot sooner if I kept messing with those substitution patterns.  For every follicle found, replace with blank, repeat.  :)

Glad you like it.  I found it fun once I got used to the quirks of creating a new stack.

MilesAhead,

Thanks for:
1. bringing to my attention this software offer and
2. bringing to my attention another giveaway type of website (http://www.mostiwant.com).  (I had not heard of this one).

that's an invalid regex...
First remove the extra new-lines, that'll help a bit, but it doesn't flag invalid an e-mail like name@domain, so it's probably bogus.

Makes me think of those old "obfuscated C" contests.  The challenge with C was to make it readable.  :)  One thing I miss in IDEs is an editor that will scan your code and pretty it up, including block indentation, when you hit a function key.  Like good old DelForEx for Delphi.  Plenty of editors will indent as you go along.  But if I can type one big mess then hit a key to align everything it is so much more fun.  Plus I can think about the code and not worry about the brace matching etc..

Hmm, Firefox Nightly x64 for Windows install folder is 5 days old and already it is loading slowly.  Super Start speed dial is no fast loader.  But it is loading noticeably slower now.  This is really the pits.

Perhaps SpeedyFox will help you out?

I'll take a look.  Thanks.  :)

This is the standard lifetime for Microsoft OSes.

Also:

https://www.donation....msg385214#msg385214

Whenever a Real Estate agent presented me with a "Standard Lease" to sign, I knew I was getting screwed.  The only reason it is "standard" is because the attorneys for the other parties to the contract built in every advantage they could devise for themselves, and every disadvantage they could for me.

Mainly they rely on there being no alternative.

Hmm, I have to wonder what inspires the correlation between the birth of President Dwight David Eisenhower and the death of operating systems.  Anyway, talk about killjoys.  The thing isn't even out yet and they are arranging the funeral.  It gets curiouser all the time.

Since there is a free (registered)version without ads I don't think it likely the giveaway pro version degrades to free with ads after the license deadline(I saw the comments section but the answer seems cavalier to me.) More likley the license key will not work to register the software after that time.  The only way to know for sure would be to contect the publisher.  I would be ccurious to see how this tool compares to Rufus but I don't have the system for testing this type of utility at the moment.

Yes, we have copied codes from "Learn in n days.." books and also have got some in accompanied CDs. But those were always taken , and were, sample codes.

At least for me, being not a great typist, there was something about having to type the code in that helped me understand it.  Mainly due to the fact I got so many typos I had to figure out the code to get it right.  Same thing when I did some CORBA test programs.  I essentially copied the test program, but I changed the names of objects and did not paste the code so that I had to struggle through getting the object methods to compile and run.  I guess what I am saying is, if you type it in you at least have to read it.

Fast Dial makes one for both chrome and firefox.  So at least it was simple to copy and paste the bookmarks across the Fast Dial folders.  It does not want to load on startup in FF.  I have to hit new tab.  But it seems a bit snappier.  I'll see how long that lasts.  :)

Edit:  Seems to be no advantage over using 32 bit Firefox 39.0.  I'm taking the nightly builds off and using Fast Dial with FF 39.  I figured out how to show the dial on startup.

My pleasure!  :)
Let me know how it works out for you!

For some reason AdBlocker really bogged it down.  I am trying Wise Disk Cleaner.  It is too bad I am addicted to Speed Dilalers.  I end up twisting everything into a pretzel to accommodate them once I like using one.  A pita.  :)

Maybe I'll try a different one.  Super Start really loads slowly on startup.

Ya, i don't know why, sometimes FF does super good for me and at others no.
Could it be your adblock extension?
I've been using AdGuard without a problem.
uBlock Origin i did not like.
AddonsMemory can help you to determine which extensions are resource hogs.

I am using uBlock.  I'll give the others a try.  Thanks.  :)

If you tell people there was a time when computer books had no media other than the printed pages to copy code from they look at you as if you are demented.  It is almost as if you claim there was a time before TV existed.  We all know that is nothing but mythology.  Even The Labors of Hercules must have starred Steve Reeves.  :)

No free updates or support though.

Another limitation is that the license expires:
The Giveaway license is only good up to December 31, 2015.

I would assume that bootable USB devices created would not expire though. You just won't be able to create new ones (or maybe the software reverts to the free version with ads?).

I don't know.  They do so many variations on these giveaways.  Not that this one does me much good.  Unfortunately my Laptop does not have the combination setting of Legacy plus UEFI booting. It is one or the other.  Windows 7 x64 install USB I made with Rufus boots if I have legacy enabled, until I get to the reboot part.  Then I get the "please insert bootable media" message.  If I flip it the other way only the HD boots.  Can't win.  And since it will not successfully run a Restore Point I have given up on experimental booting.  I guess I'm lucky the Rescue USB  made by Macrium works.

It is too bad.  I was hoping to boot into VHD with this thing instead of running super slow software VMs.

Think its 'cause you have to clear the cache out once in a while.

Did try Nightly and don't find it any better than present stable.

I clear the cache.  Makes no difference.  I tried the Nightly from yesterday.  Total disaster.  All my tabs crashed within about 5 minutes of the thing being up.  I put back the one I was using.  I've noticed this slowdown on Firefox for at least the last 6 months.  Pretty freaky.  Chrome snaps up off the HD quickly.  But it hogs the CPU to do it.  MxNitro jumps off the HD but it has no features and is unusable as well as unstable.

Also it looks like I need a speed dial that loads much faster than Super Start.  Seems like I wait 30 seconds just for the New Tab page to open on startup.

@dr_andus I think you are right.  I said before they should have released an OS for devices and another for Desktops.  For updating phones and tablets the cloud makes sense.  But it does not make sense to wreck my finely tuned desktop PC(assuming I had one or more to finely tune or finally tune) just because MS wants to say they do something about security holes.

By the way does anyone know what a Windows Phone is?  Is that like in a phone boother where you can open the window on a nice day?  The metaphores are sore.  They should just call it Phone-o-matic since you don't have to know anything to use it or abuse it.  Finger painting is all it takes to use it, update it etc..  Perfect for the kiddies.  :)

The PC version should be called Desktop Daimajin.  Unstoppable.  Not only does it boot up, it boots down every house in the neighborhood if you wake it up.  Be the first to stomp your village etc..

According to this GHacks Article Windows 10 Home Users will have to agree to forced automatic updates when clicking the EULA on reboot.

At the end of the article it goes on to say that at the moment(as in RTM build 10240) it is still possible to set the Windows Update Service to Disabled.

I have a feeling that disable-ability will either be removed or bypassed.
It is for your protection.  :)

Well, yeah ...

Which is why I'm a little confused. Win8 had "funny" UI Metro issues, but it was still its own OS.

This whole "Updates will happen. Resistance is futile" going all Neo-Borg is what has us all nervous, because we're just waiting for the first big "oops" moment of it all.

I hope some volunteers take on the task of providing Vista/W7 support in perpetuity because if they really go ahead with all this cloud business I think it really will be the last version of Windows.  Either that or we can try to make various Linux distros look exactly like Windows or even OS/2. Heh heh.

But it is disconcertin how easily everyone forgets what the PC was all about.  They just toss around buzzwords like innovation and empowerment out of habit.  They forget those words used to be true.  At least in part.

Just for grins I uninstalled, then installed it.  It still loads slowly off the dime.  But it seems to run a bit snappier once the speed dial loads.

Defintely not snappy like at first blush.
