I've been meaning 2 try Jackass JoeJoe's StartRight 4 ages but never gotten around 2 it.  For those interested:

These programs need 2 B able 2 incorporate all the features of startup selector programs but they still seem 2 B considered 2 seperate functions.

This is the best startup enabler/disabler I've come across:

It checks a database 2 determine what the actual startup programs are.

I use the Maxthon browser (the best browser ever) which has an option 2 open links in a new tab via the middle mouse button.

Is it possible 2 open links with the middle mouse button from outside Maxthon itself.  ie Outlook Express & the Favorites bar etc?

Maybe it's a run command or something?  I'd like 2 know more also.

I actually know a little bit about this!  When U kill the main Explorer thread, U can type "explorer" in the "File - New Task (Run)" menu on the Task Manager.  But if there is a "file browser" version of Explorer open 4 some idiotic reason Windows opens yet another "file browser" version.  Which is quite useless.  If you kill all other explorer threads also then you can restart the main system tray thread.

I haven't wasted my time going 2 the Microsoft website looking 4 help on this.  I'm sure the response would just be "Micorsoft have confirmed this to be a problem with Windows".  They certainly have a poor commitment 2 their paying customers.

Aha!

Very often the types of windows that cause this problem are invisible windows & they don't always have a name so U can see there is still a problem.  Is it possible to also exclude these?  Maybe in combination with the executable name?

I just encountered the problem that I mentioned previously with the Taskbar totally dissapearing instead of just becoming transparent.

I tried using the mouse to see if the taskbar was just invisible or actually missing & I can confirm that it was missing.

I used right click > exit when the taskbar was present & it dissapeared like PhilKC said.

I used 2 want 2 put the Quick Launch under the Start Button.  I no longer have 2 but I'm sure some people would benefit from this.

Hey Skrommel.

Don't U think U should include an option to hide the StartTime icon.  The whole point of this program is 2 save space.  If this is an option I think U will find that StartTime becomes more popular. :)

Hi Skrommel.

By excluding/including certain classes I've found myself going round in circles when trying 2 block/allow certain windows.  The tediousness overshadows the nuisance value of the problem in the first place.  A way 2 overcome this would B 2 also block windows by their name AND class.

I was referring to processing files within multiple folders on the same path depth.  Not processing files in a folder & it's subfolder.

Also, sometimes folders & files have similar content but not exactly the same 'string'.  eg Surnames can be placed at the beginning of a name followed by a commar.  ie "Billy Bob Thornton" OR "Thornton, Billy Bob".

Is it possible to create a GUI with checkboxes for components to be removed?  eg:
Billy
Bob
Thornton

The first time I ran NoTransMax my Taskbar was dissapearing instead of being made transparent.  It seems 2 B running fine now.

Is it possible 2 make the taskbar transparent when using the Show Desktop button in the Quick Launch bar?

On your page the version is still listed as 1.0.

Is there any advantage in running the exe or the ahk version of your utilities?  Does 1 use less resources than the other?

I've used programs before to make my TaskBar transparent.  It looks great when viewing the desktop but is inonsistent with a maximized window.

How about making the TaskBar transparent only when a window is not maximized.

It works just fine.  Would it B possible 2 add support 4 subfolders so that U can rename a whole bunch of folders @ once?  I have a thousand folders that need files renamed.

If files have their containing folders name as part of their filename is there a program to remove that duplicated text?
 
eg.  I would like the file Alma-Tadema_Lady_Laura_Teresa_Gathering_Pansies.jpg in the folder Alma-Tadema_Lady_Laura_Teresa to be renamed to Gathering_Pansies.
 
Is it possible to detect superfluous text & truncate the filenames?

I use Replay Radio 2 automatically record @ the same time every weekday.  It's free 4 what I need it 4.

Some programs seem to have Windows that don't have a name.  This means the window cannot be excluded from ShowDialogsToo in the settings.

Is it possible to prevent windows without a title from being displayed?

Hey mouser.

When you use thumbnail view Windows Explorer displays the common picture & video filetypes with a thumbnail of their content instead of the default icon.  If you name a picture file "folder.jpg" or "folder.gif" it will also become the content thumbnail of the containing folder.

I wasn't thinking of using the note thumbnail as the folder's content thumbnail but now that you mention it I'm sure there are times when this would come in handy too.  To switch between this functionality you just have to change the files name.

I use the thumbnail view in Windows.  Sometimes I need to leave a small bit of information or a reminder in a particular folder.  It would be more efficient to have this info in a thumbnail that can instantly be read instead of a text file that needs to be manually opened.

It would also be handy to not have to answer questions like "Are you sure you wish to move the system (or read only) file thumbs.db" etc  I've never ever had to answer in the negative.
