Softpedia and FileHippo both show it as Firefox 49.0 stable.  No changelog though:

http://www.softpedia...-Firefox-Final.shtml

Edit: I upgraded to the x86 49.0 from 48.02 and no, it does not load any faster, at least by eyeball.  Still seems to take almost a minute from double click to being able to type into the address bar.  :(

strange, on this machine, Firefox 47.0 says it's up-to-date. And it opens quite promptly (could that be one of your add-ons that's slowing you Ff down?)

Notes on trying to use a Windows phone authenticator/authentication for LastPass:

Duo Mobile did not work for me. Got into a loop trying to register it with lastpass: "An error occurred. : A" :( :)

Microsoft Authenticator (AKA 'Authenticator') is not on Lastpass's list of possible authenticators, but they cleverly disguised it as 'Google Authenticator' i.e. pretend that is for the Microsoft App and it will work.

So . . .
could you please give some more specific information about what want; what you've tried and why it's not what you want/need?

I mean I could recommend Directory Opus -- the options are broad here...

Looking to synchronize 2 usb drives (make them the same).
A proven software. Option to be portable.

hi limelect,
there's been a couple of threads here re syncing / software, but they're hard to find if you cant remember the names of the software :-/

You could start here: FreeFileSync - automated backup - Mini-Review.

There was a sync software developed by a member here which got an extremely good response, Bvckup 2 (dont know about portability)

Should probably be moved to General Software Discussion board?

How did you set up the context menu entry?
Or is it there by default?

It's not in my context menu, but I'm on Firefox ESR (38.xx).

I had a look to see what it would cost in Euros -- as there can often be a big price jump there --
was pleasantly suprised to see it was cheaper again in euros (via cleverbridge: provider & cost may depend on your location) 23.76€ / ~22.50$ (not including local VAT/sales tax)

Extended for another 24 hours as per this post.

Any even very general comments from Bat! users?
1737
No tips here - just to say it's extended another day:
22.5 hours to go at time of this post.

Also wondering if it's for me - but what I was missing in Thunderbird was decent easy tagging support. The Bat! sounds like it uses filtering rather than tags, which could be fine too :-\

This simple horse algebra question has left the internet baffled – but can YOU solve it?

They say the answer is 21. I say it is 42(with MDAS order of operations). Who has the problem with their math?

are you making the mistake of thinking that there is a pair of boots and a pair of horseshoes in the last line?
Or am I missing something :-\

Do try to keep up.

Improving ergonomic readability in the CHS (Clipboard Help and Spell) clipboard manager.
I actually think I got somewhere useful (for me at least) on this:

in relation to the system-wide font changes, I was wondering what screen size/resolution you were using -- or what ppi (is that what they call it: the pixel 'density' I mean). TBH I'm not sure what ppi I have here, so size and resolution would probably be the most helpful, TIA

No idea if this is possible:
when the screensaver is set to show random images, sometimes I'd love to know what that last image was / where it is located (I've got a lot of photos).
If I'm careful to not touch anything else, I can use the arrow keys to go back to the image, but I have no way of finding out what it is -- or where it is, creation date, any of which would help me find the image.

Is it possible to keep track of these images - or give info about the current image being displayed by the screensaver?

(I'm on Windows 7 x64 FWIW)

Okay, a solution for Windows 7 X64 which has worked for two machines:
Install KB3161608

Listed with direct links under "Alternative Fix (June 2016)"
at this superuser post (via superuser link above):
http://superuser.com...n7-sp1/997067#997067
[..]
Note:
my problem was not only very high CPU usage [windows update check/svchost], but also inability to find *any* updates

I can report this working on another Windows 7 machine (not mine) with similar problems.

(Was my sister in Canada: she got an IT guy to look at it, they had no solution; so I enjoyed being able to say I probably know how to fix that...)

^ thanks,
PrtScr stopped working with SC on my Win.7 x64 desktop this week -- it does take a screenshot to the clipboard, but this screenshot was not saved in SC. (I checked SC settings and it should be automatically saved.)
=> not on desktop now, so unable to check if (possibly) related to windows updates -- will report back when I get chance to check.
