Thanks for the giveaway and allowing questions to be posted here too.
I am guilty of not reading the help files thoroughly yet, excuse the question. Using Portable 0.9.25N on a different computer (specifically on a different computer for the first time) it looks for not yet created Users/NAME folder. I guess I am asking what, if anything, can I do with the different folders created in this way or what changes are made after each use besides the database (SNDB) file?

I am all for a clear differentiation between shareware and freeware. Choose one and leave stuff out of it. If, say Unlocker, is what I need I will pay instead of toolbars, nags, etc.

Shareware, may be offer a trial and then you pay, period.
Freeware, free, period. I am even hesitant about commercial use restrictions but I can appreciate the difference.

Need to point out: I have nothing against the donation model like DC because I see it as a distinct category

In my experience if only compliments are encouraged, ie a place to hear more positive stories rather than negative ones, then it increases the possibility of spam not decrease it. Unless it is heavily moderated and I would even go as far as saying that every post would need to be reviewed before being visible/posted

Living Room / Re: Anyone here using a standing desk?
« Last post by rgdot on April 20, 2011, 08:59 AM »
Like mentioned moving about is good, your eyes too, every 20 minutes or so make sure your eyes are concentrated on something farther away for 30 seconds.
As far as standing all day it would probably kill my ankle.

EULA should read:

You bought it now use it but don't ask for support

I am surprised they haven't gone the religious route and invoke images of hell and fire

In registration and contact form situations captchas are as close to ineffective as one can get, in those and most other situations one really should use a question/answer script.
As an inconvenience it is only mildly so in my opinion, I think by now most understand why they exist and accept them, it's worse if they are not effective - so later the user doesn't see its benefit - which takes us back to using question/answer.

In the top 10 I only use Firebug.

FF with 10+ extensions is near unusable, wish I knew how anybody has 50 or so. I am not talking about slow old machines either. Having said that Flash is the biggest culprit, one easy way that it's obvious to me is using Flashblock

I first heard of Kickstarter when the Diaspora project came along, I read their newsletter. If no one more familiar volunteers I can give it a try.
