The Form Letter Machine / Re: Darn, I just realize checkbox messages don't work if it's in a subfolder

I use Windows Live Writer to write my blog entries and have been extremely happy with the functionality. Last week I started thinking about how exactly the connection is made from WLW to my web server to upload my blogs. After a little research and a few emails back and forth to the Windows Live Product Group I discovered what I feared the most: WLW sends over your credentials in the clear text.
So what happens when you fire up WLW? Here is what the communication looks like to the naked eye:
Yikes! You can clearly see that included in the XML content is a username and password, for all to see. And what's worse is that you don't even have to post anything as simply starting up WLW will send this information out in the clear! I cringe when I think about the blogging I may have done on a public wireless network.

i had to dump vlc completely and went with wmp classic.
vlc would not play a lot of songs correctly. they would be all skipping and jumbled. so until they work it out, i'll stay away, but keep an eye on it cause it does have device functions i like.-cmpm (September 28, 2008, 01:35 PM)
IMHO the later mini-series felt a lot truer to the universe
I was disappointed by their Klonoa mascot though. Usually when people opt for this, it means the interface is much more user friendlier than your run of the mill OpenOffice and MS Office but what I saw staring in front of my eyes was a very foreign if not slightly similar to general Office Suite user interface. (Of course Tux is an exception to this but it's still an illusion downer)-Paul Keith (September 27, 2008, 11:25 PM)
I thought the interface was friendly it looks like MSO and it has the features in the same places (well in KSO07 anyway)-Davidtheo (September 28, 2008, 03:14 AM)
That right there is the problem. When you have a cartoon mascot, 9 times out of 10, I'm expecting a friendlier not "MSO" interface.-Paul Keith (September 28, 2008, 06:13 AM)
OK but now many people judge the software on the mascot. I have never done that, I thought it would be better to judge it on what it can do.-Davidtheo (September 28, 2008, 06:45 AM)

Too many times I have upgraded right away and then found that many of the extensions don't work. And I really love the response you get on Mozillazine if you inquire about it at all - "I don't use ANY extensions. Why do you need extensions?" Ha! As I often say: The best thing about Firefox are the extensions. Ans the worst thing about Firefox are the extensions." To be honest, I wouldn't even use Firefox without extensions. And I hate when they release a new version and most extensions stop working. Hate it!
I always wait now until I see that there are no big bugs, and until all my extensions catch up with the new release.
