Look in your task manager - there should be a column there for PID (process ID).  If there's not, right click on any column to check to show it.

What is that process?
was confused by the sequence here -
turns out the last edit of the previous post (below) was well after wraith's post
upd2:
Hooray! I started digging on this issue and finally came across this http://superuser.com...-delayed-file-delete
I had turned off the service, with a very long time. Apparently, what the update has changed the algorithm which is why it shutdown caused these problems.
The problem is completely solved

I use Syncovery myself: subjectively very fast; again very accurate; partial file updating; can find moved files and move at destination rather than delete/recopy. It can ignore conflicts (there are a few options, let me look there), and send you an email if there's a problem (or if there's no problem as well).
But I havent really used it in this type of scenario so cant say a whole lot more about it.

I actually cant find the email notification setting in Syncovery, I know it's there, I have it enabled for at least one profile :-/

Some relevant options:

For straight sync, Bvckup was getting very good press here -- fast and accurate were the reports:
https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=36388.0

haven't used it myself so dont know how it deals with any potential problem files.

I'm pondering whether to get this or not.

The reason I am slightly reluctant is one experience I had with the beta. I wanted to draw a simple diagram for a blog post, and figured that was a good thing to try with Designer. I spent 10 minutes looking for the menu or button to put an arrow at the end of a line with no luck. I then googled, and apparently there was no such thing. There were some workarounds on their forums, but it just seemed odd to me that putting shapes like an arrowhead at the end of lines was not standard.

But perhaps this type of use is not what Designer targets. Or perhaps it was just missing in the beta.

there's a share of people unhappy about missing features in the forum. One thread they were asking about auto-trace: apparently it's planned for version two, which is 'years' away. Cant find that particular post, but here's a couple relevant links if you want to root around.

https://affinity.ser...hl=trace#entry140312
Someone will correct me here no doubt however Designer (going by the splash screen examples one can download) the primary app development was for illustration over graphic design  layout...

Was home lately (Ireland) for a visit. Been meaning to go through my pics but dont seem to be getting to it. So I'll just grab a couple that look reasonably good out of camera.

Here's a guy who did it properly:
How I Photographed The Supermoon

worth looking around the 55 second mark: he shows an app called SkyView that superimposes the moon/stars etc on the camera view, including showing what time the moon will be at different heights. (Difficult to describe, just look)
Android link for SkyView: https://play.google....kyviewfree&hl=en

Skip to around 8:10 for the full moon video, and then images

As to which direction I can see it, I'll look for the big bright thing in the night (assuming there's no clouds)  :D
:)
The advantage of the other one, for photographers in particular, is that they can find/choose a location with something specific in the foreground for rising/setting of the moon, maybe woods, or a lake.

True but since it was cloudy last night, direction became kind of irrelevant for me  ;D

and I simply missed it :-[
it took much longer to rise than stated due to a wooded high ground in that direction, and then I got distracted by something else :-\
Missed it by less than an hour I'd say -- at that stage it was quite high already, very bright, but not looking particularly big (which I guess most people know only happens when it's near the horizon).

^ Time and Date was linked as well (in the source link) -- yeah, lots of good info there.
Maybe cause I like maps, or tend to be very 'visual', I found the other easier to get into.

Find And Run Robot / Re: ALT key problem
« Last post by tomos on November 14, 2016, 10:44 AM »
I haven't made myself clear.
no,
it was clear what you wanted :)
On international keyboards at any rate, the 'right Alt' is 'AltGr' which is a different key. So saying they 'should' both work was maybe what prompted the responses. I find it an interesting topic anyway -- I was surprised (and happy) many years ago to find with some (graphics) software I was able to use AltGr+[whatever] instead of Ctrl+Alt+[whatever] shortcuts.

Find And Run Robot / Re: ALT key problem
« Last post by tomos on November 13, 2016, 08:33 PM »
Since the keyboard interface provides only one action for the ALT key, both ALT keys should work to perform the designated action.

right Alt (AltGr) often works the same as Ctrl+Alt (seems to be the other way round: https://en.wikipedia..._Alt_as_a_substitute although I have some older software where AltGr will work same as a Ctrl+Alt+ shortcut)

Some interesting related queries:
Can I make Ctrl+Alt NOT act like AltGr on Windows? (http://superuser.com...ike-altgr-on-windows)
How to globally map AltGr key to Alt key? (http://stackoverflow...altgr-key-to-alt-key)
Why does Alt Gr have the same keyCode as Ctrl? (http://stackoverflow...same-keycode-as-ctrl)

'Supermoon' tomorrow (2016-11-14)
It's nearer the earth than it has been in over 50 years.

How visible this size difference will be, I dont know. Most at moonset tomorrow morning I think, but probably also at moonrise later in the day.
So, when's that?

Cue app to show when and where the moon will rise in your location -

thanks Curt - I didnt scroll down below the download links so never saw that message.
Have you tried 'Photo' yet? (haven't yet myself)

Re the website: with these modern webpages I become like a grumpy old geezer - all that scrolling, inability to link to any particular part of the long scroll. I must become more tolerant of change ;-)

it should be mentioned that Affinity is 64-bits only.

I missed that. I struggle with these modern websites, cant even find a meaningful features page for Designer for Windows (which they're already selling). Where did you get that info Curt?

I think the moral of the story is....if you want it...find somebody in the USA to buy it for you...or be prepared to pay more than your american counterpart.

Hmm, 80€ here with tax.
I have great respect for companies that dont screw us in Euros (and you in Sterling even more).
But as said, they're few and far between unfortunately.
FWIW, this is tiddlywinks compared to how Adobe will screw you due to your location [although they may have gotten better that way since they only rent their software]. I guess I've gotten resigned to this level of screw :-/

If they can't be bothered actually doing currency conversions (and ripping off those who pay in EUR)...then I wouldn't even entertain them.

something I intensely dislike as well, but, in fairness there's very few that do (actual currency conversions).
If I can, when paying, I'll try and pay in US$ to see if it works out cheaper.

Add to that, there's very little between the two at the moment.

EDIT// the Euro price includes 19% VAT. Dont know if they charge that to all customers (? they a German company & I'm in Germany)
