I deleted db.ini and restarted QSLL.exe but "c" and "fi" still cause similar crashes.

Thanks for the update.

It runs now.  When I tried typing "fi" (no quotes), got an error with details:

AppName: qsll.exe    AppVer: 1.0.0.1    ModName: qsll.exe
ModVer: 1.0.0.1    Offset: 00002253

Then the app went away.

"quit" worked :)

Some other combinations also caused crashes (e.g. "c" -- I was about to type a path).

I'm testing this on Windows XP Pro SP3.

Tried to run it, but got something about not being able to find MSVCP100.dll.

Looks pretty interesting!

When I get access to Windows 7 again, I may give it a try.

@Phitsc : I'm also getting the oleaut32.dll error, with an "access violation" message.

FWIW, I think I got this initially too -- when reading the earlier portions of this thread, I came across the FScript.dll version issue and upgrading it to 1.20 in one of my plugins seemed to resolve it for me.  But may be it's a different oleaut32.dll error...

I was able to test on a different installation of Windows 7 and had more success -- get results in FARR now :)

It is still puzzling to me though why via the windows key, "cmd" gives the result "cmd.exe" but with FARRWindowsSearch I get nothing.  Similar with "regedit".

Any ideas?

If you type 'search' into the 'Search Programs and Files' box, there's a 'Find and fix problems with Windows Search' item in the 'Control Panel' category. Maybe you can give this one a try? As you say, I would guess that Windows Search is enabled (and therefore indexing) by default in Windows 7.

Thanks for the clarification and suggestions.  Haven't gotten anywhere yet, but intend to keep trying.

Thanks for the clarification.

I have been assuming that there isn't anything extra one needs to do for Windows 7 to get this working -- apart from installing FARR and FARRWindowsSearch (plus FARR restart)...may be there is some pilot error here with the assuming bit.

Signed,

Normally you need to add a space after ws before typing ?

Not sure I follow you here -- in my tests apart from just "ws", I appended a single space after "ws" and before any other text.  Does that sound ok?  I don't suppose there is a suggestion here to type a question mark character...I tried that too but that doesn't appear to cause any difference in behavior.

Did you try changing the default alias ? I changed it to ^ws (.*), so actual search starts when I insert a space after "ws"

Gave this suggestion a try but didn't notice any difference in behavior.

Thanks for the ideas :)

I got a chance to try out Windows 7 Professional (64 bit) for a bit, so am giving FARR Windows Search a try.

Unzipped 0.3.0 into the FARRWindowsSearch plugin folder and restarted FARR.  ws in FARR's main window brings up Options and About as search results.  I haven't had any luck getting any other search results to show up though...Is there some other configuration necessary to get the plugin to work?

Not sure if this is relevant, but typing the Windows key and typing in cmd gives one result of cmd.exe, but in FARR ws cmd gives nothing.

Thanks for finding and posting this :)

I guess at the moment it looks like I'd better be off of SP3 of XP before April 2014.

Looking at the "End of Support" row in:

  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7_editions#Comparison_chart

I get the sense that support for Windows 7 Professional will last longer than Windows 7 Ultimate...seems a bit odd.

if SSC includes a few basic features such as Facebook and Flickr uploading

While looking into this, I noticed the following at the ZUploader / ZScreen site:

CustomUploadersHelp

It looks to me like Flickr might be supported and perhaps it's possible to put something together to get Facebook support to work using the Custom Uploader functionality.

Does this help at all?

I want a third monitor (that one again) to stick in permanent portrait mode.

+1 for portrait mode!

These days I've been using portrait mode mostly for messing with the connections to my screens though -- easier to get at the connectors when the screen is rotated ;)

Started using XPath Helper today:

This one generates expressions as well as provide interactive testing on pages in one's browser window.

It seems there are a number of different XPath-related extensions.

Any one have any recommendations?

This sounds great!

Any chance of recording and reporting the total time related to observing the processing?

On a tangential note, I didn't find a checksum on the download page (e.g. MD5, SHA1, etc.).  Is there something there?

Thanks for the feedback :)

Results for the current case are an array of 2-element arrays, so look something like:
