Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Moving Keyboard focus to a control
« Last post by jgpaiva on February 22, 2008, 05:57 AM »
ControlFocus is used for focusing stactic controls of the current window itself (in this case the browser). Thus, it can't focus parts of webpages.

I'd suggest you do 2 things on the script:
first, lose the focus (send,{esc}) and then, depending on your webbrowser, tab a number of times until you get to where you need the focus (send,{tab}).

Hope that helps!

PS: actually, autohotkey isn't a DonationCoder project, we just use it a lot ;)

Hi Louise!
Welcome to DC!

Since you're here, i'd like to make a suggestion to this great game of yours.
I like to play the monuments one, but i think it'd become even more educational if after the person chose the site, it'd show the name of the city where that monument is located (if there is any city).

Thanks!

I very much prefer using space as a final character, since on my keyboard, = is only accessible through a shift-combo :)
That's what i'm using with gcalc currently ;)

LINKSYS!!!

I've already bought 3 of their routers, and all of them gave me problems!
The less expensive one (40€), i had to return it because my laptop would get "weak" signal when it was 2 feet away from the router.
The intermidiate one (100€), can't keep configured for more than one week, which means i have to reset it and reconfigure it every week.
The more expensive one (140€), which was supposed to be a perfect router, really is very good, gets me great speed WHEN it works, because a few times a day, it starts going nuts and gives me internet on and off (one minute i have wireless, the next there's no wireless, then there's wireless for one minute again, etc etc).Oh, and the best part is that there's a 6 page forum thread about this on the linksys forum without ANY response from linksys.

Unfortunatelly, i'm the one who'd stupid, after the previous experience, i should never have bought that last router. :(

I'm glad you like it, philosopherdog!

I don't really understand your question, HideTaskbar was supposed to completelly hide the taskbar, not even showing the line it shows when it's in autohide!

Ok, it works now. Apparently, it was related to the graphics, disabling the shaders solved it.

Unfortunatelly, as soon as i add some water, it becomes too slow.
Still, it's a great fun! Thanks a lof, f0dder :)

Gothic: yep, i also noticed that problem, and i think it's on the author's todo list.

Oh damn... That didn't last long :(
The vcredist_x86 needed for running the game doesn't seem to install correctly on my computer (the instalation starts but there's no indication of it having finished) and the game just crashes when i try to run it :'(

Just download nircmd, and create a shortcut to it! Then, go to its properties and add "screensaver" (without the quotes) to the target ;)

Nircmd can start the screensaver on demand.
Thus, what's the hotkey you were thinking?

Wouldn't a shortcut on the desktop be better?

mouser: yes, definitelly add the "enter" option!
I like the the idea about the short delay, the problem is that that depends on how fast the person writes, i guess. Probably not easy to do on reality, i think.

Sorry, but i meant if when you call farr, its button appears in the taskbar or not. If it does, then i can make something in ahk to bring it back to view ;)

« Last post by jgpaiva on February 19, 2008, 11:44 AM »
I haven't seen anything like this, and i use a similar setup as yours (including the constant connect/disconnect of the external monitor).

I have one doubt, though: does farr show on the taskbar but not on the screen?

One possible explanation might be that the last time you closed farr, it was on the external monitor, and when you disconnected it, you can't see it anymore.

Another question: do you set the external monitor as the primary monitor? Is it larger (in terms of pixels) than the internal monitor?

If you'd like, i could code something really fast that would allow you to bring any window to the center of the monitor.

Living Room / Re: Hardware AES-encrypted harddrive, cool - but...!
« Last post by jgpaiva on February 19, 2008, 07:43 AM »
Here's the bottom-line:
These regular repetitions continued, and the almost identical columns of numbers suggest that the 512-byte sectors of your drive are not in fact encrypted with AES, but merely with a constant 512-byte cipher block applied as an XOR (exclusive OR).

This is really serious since it's (almost) as good as no encryption at all and definitelly not the encryption advertised!
People who sell this kind of stuff should be prosecuted for fooling their costumers!

I'm glad it's over. Too bad i'm about to buy a laptop, this looks like the worst time ever to buy a toshibe laptop (since they still are all packed with hd-dvd!)

Really really cool, czechboy!

I don't understand: why do you need the '=' at the end?
Is it to avoid google queries without anything interesting?

(i removed it and it works perfectly :) )

Robin: if google would accept the hash of the password, storing the hash or the password itself in clear text would be almost the same, not offering much security improvement ;)

czechboy: can't javascript encrypt a text file? You could store the login details encrypted with a password only you (and your scripts) would know. This wouldn't prevent anyone with a bit more knowledge from discovering the passwords but would offer some confort for some ;)

Oh, another weird thing: if I leave my cellphone close to the mouse cord, I can tell a few seconds in advance if I'm going to get a SMS or phone call... the mouse cursor freaks out :)
Here's something related too, to prove computers don't like cell phones:
When i put the cell phone on the laptop (i mean resting on top of the computer), if i receive an SMS, the computer gives me a blues screen and shuts down ;) (first time this happened i freaked out, only after did i relate the BSOD to the SMS)

the little Bluetooth app that hogs about 50 MB of RAM continuously is looking attractive for the axe - I only use it to grab pictures off my phone!
And if that one works like the windows default one, you can just kill it at startup, and it'll get started when you turn the bluetooth switch on ;)
