General Software Discussion / Re: Send email from cmdline !
« Last post by Ath on May 15, 2014, 01:32 AM »
For TLS support the command i gave was:
SendEmail -f [email protected] -t [email protected] -s smtp.gmail.com:587 -xu [email protected] -xp xxxxx -u "Hello their" -m "How are you." -o tls=yes
The error message i got was " SMTP-AUTH: Authentication to smtp.gmail.com:587 failed. "
Are you sure you want to use this: -xu urname@gmail.com.com ? Shouldn't that be like: -xu [email protected]

On that small a harddrive, I'd keep the single partition, to most efficiently balance the application/data ratio.

I find that 80 GB is quite small for a system-drive, at least for Win7..., so fixed-reserving space for a data partition doesn't feel 'right'

... still only for Mac though
You can build it for Windows, with the instructions available, but that only confirms the 'hackable' feature, imho :-[

Is that a common tech term?
Oh yes, that's been used for over 25 years, with the introduction of the PC AT and the IBM Enhanced PC keyboardw and this page about Arrow keysw. It may have been mostly a marketing term, though.

Or is it that you wanted to know what exactly the relationship is?
That. For a new user with exactly 2 posts on his name, yes, I'm a bit reluctant about their intentions :o

@theonething: Are you in some way related to smartpixel? Please state your relation accordingly in your, obviously product-promoting, post.

"Can you uniquely identify the window? "
This is essential
The question is more like "can the window needing to be sent the hot-key, be uniquely identified, either by it's title or window/control-id", and you telling MilesAhead/us what that unique title or id is... :-[

Well, I got the impression from the OP that he's looking for a low-to-zero-cost speedboost, but I may be wrong...

What for?
The most you'll get out of it is around 5 to 10%, but you'll hardly notice the difference.
Replacing the HDD with a current model at 7200 rpm or an SSD is going to gain you much more improvement, especially when processing (stored) data.

Btw, that processor was eol'd over 2 years ago, and the combination of model ('Pentium') and GHz (3.0) doesn't give much room for speed improvement.

Programming is a long tough track of lifelong learning suitable for people that have a passion for it,
Thank you April, for writing down (all) these words so concise; it exactly describes how I feel about the subject.

Another, related, personal observation: If you have to ask how to get started, you will never get started!

It's probably the dcmembers.com server acting up, as my subdomain there has similar issues

Mouser probably has to press some buttons to fix it, or maybe he's already on it 8)

any that is in trend and will be in future demand and enable me to get (after years) one of those GBP80k per year positions

Well, based on your answer to my question, I'd suggest to obtain a crystal ball and predict the future... :-[

What programming language and/or environment & OS would you prefer?
1519
1) Hm, for region select, I'd expect to get the selection inside the selection-box that I've meticulously drawn around the stuff I'd like to capture using the enlarged view near the cursor, and not have 1 extra pixel-row added on any of the sides. For a full-screen grab there are other options available. When needing a partial screenshot from the bounds of the screen, Mouser's advice/suggestion has been to take a capture of the entire screen, and edit that to the desired size. So I doubt if this is a bug of any kind.
It could be convenient to have that pixel-row included when selection is at the bounds of the screen, though, even when there is an optional extra monitor displaying at that bound of the current screen, but that would be a feature-request, IMHO.

2) Yep, that would be 'nice to have', now the size just disappears when getting to close to the screen boundaries, so an up-vote from me

Explorer shows a file named WFS.exe in C:\Windows\System32, but that
doesn't eliminate the possibility of some special Windows trickery.

MV

But an executable by that name is not in C:\Windows\SysWOW64, where the 32 bit LBC will try to find it...

Hm, having a data-file extension of .txt seems quite unsafe to me, even when 'hidden' inside a .zip or .gsb archive. I'd have opted for something less prone to unwanted editing, like .gst (GS-Base Table).
