Y'know, I use Mike Lin's Crosshair periodically if I'm working on tabular data that has a lot of space in a column. It just puts a crosshair across the screen where the cursor is, either following the cursor or stationary. Many download sources including Softpedia, I forget where I found it. My settings shown here, the red lines are the crosshairs.

Doesn't Moto have a transfer app? Google and Samsung do, I'd think other top tier makers would as well. That is like THE premiere task that you have to do when you get a new phone.

Hey Barney, can you say what the password looked like? Was it just a string of numbers/letters/symbols, were all the passwords it generated the same length? Can you say how long they were?

Assuming your "text relevant to the site" isn't the URL (or isn't just the URL), then probably some kind of hashing program would work fine for you. Shouldn't be that hard to write one. The whole point of a hash is when you feed it the same thing, it always spits out the same result. Now, there might be some other text that could generate the same result, but if the text is something from your mind then that might not be an issue. Depends where on the scale from CRC to MD5 you want to be. :-)

I guess WindowTabs is well-known enough, but do you know it is free and open source now. But it is a little sluggish on windows 10.
And also here is another alternative multrin you should try.

TidyTabs does the tab window thing also. Free version lets you tab 3 windows, pro license removes that restriction ($9us). I thought I had seen it in this topic but missed it in a quick glance back.

maybe I'm nitpicking, but if anyones adding to the list can they please add something more than just a name + link. 

In a lot of cases the name is a clue as to what the program does, but I'm probably not alone in being wary of clicking on an unqualified link to find out whats on the end of it

Not suggesting for a minute that anyone here would consciously do anything risky, but still...

If you have a need for it, RapidEE makes it much easier to examine or edit your environment variables. We have folks that have to switch their path variable around for different (old) versions of Oracle on their workstations and this makes it a much simpler process. Doesn't need installation, all you need is the exe.

So I verified stat.exe is actually in coreutils 5.3 at least even though it isn't mentioned in the list: gnu coreutils

Try using this periodically during your process and see if it doesn't give you a more up to date value:  stat.exe -c %s full-filename.here

Or you can just do 'stat filename' and you'll see the full display.

stat.exe %s filename will show the correct size if it is available, sometimes it isn't. I don't see it included in coreutils, but I thought it came with unxutils Windows port. Can't find it with a quickie search though.

I have some rexx code that uses tslistusers.exe (from here) and some wmic.exe commands to produce a nice web page showing who's logged into the rds farm desktops and what remoteapps they're running. I do a good bit of scripting and use a lot of little utilities (eg, unxutils) and grab and parse output if I need it.

License term lasts for one year (although once you have created a product you can still distribute it). Also your max income is limited to $5000, I would have to reread the license to see the parameters on that. As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to play with it but I would need a specific task I want to accomplish, and allocated time to work on it, before I even download it.

I've used Here WeGo (in the US, but it has global maps). You can download the maps for offline use, I installed this on my wife's iphone for use at the women's march in Washington in case there were too many other people to get a cell signal (which there were). Also used it in the back woods of North Carolina when Siri couldn't get a signal (which made me smile). It has worked well for me when I needed it.

Weird. I am sure you have looked at a hundred of the posts with "solutions". This computer is not in a domain, is it? Did you try creating a new administrator account and using that account to start the process?

You could try an in place upgrade to the same o/s, might be easier than a fresh Windows reinstall and all it takes is time.

I've used wkhtmltopdf and wkhtmltoimage before with great success.

What is it?
wkhtmltopdf and wkhtmltoimage are open source (LGPLv3) command line tools to render HTML into PDF and various image formats using the Qt WebKit rendering engine. These run entirely "headless" and do not require a display or display service.

There is also a C library, if you're into that kind of thing.

How do I use it?
Download a precompiled binary or build from source
Create your HTML document that you want to turn into a PDF (or image)
Run your HTML document through the tool.
For example, if I really like the treatment Google has done to their logo today and want to capture it forever as a PDF:

wkhtmltopdf http://google.com google.pdf

I have switched to this vs TeamViewer (or rather I am in the process). And for private use there is no charge.

I just wish they had a one-time fee for private use to help support them. I would pay a chunk to show my appreciation, but I can't justify a significant yearly fee for what I do with it. Maybe I will complain to them, buy one year, and then cancel after that.
