Yes, remove EnvironmentVariables. I've had problems with it too, together with FARRAltTab plugin.  :(
i'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with these... in my experience, these two C# plugins are the only ones completely crashing MY farr. Not everyones experience, but certainly mine...

There are several different "states" of the grids that is useful to me.  If there was an option to save multiple different "named states" of the grid, that would be very useful.

Would that be like outlook's "views" ? I'm asking because I believe I suggested that too during my mega posting phase.

Good to hear you fixed your problem cjs2.
BTW, I use the "PlainOldFavorites" add-on for Firefox : I've decided to not use bookmarks as such, partly to eliminate the "global search" (so to speak) problem you mentioned (like you, I prefer searching globally and not have my bookmarks or favorites embedded in a single file), but also to allow seamless inter operation between Firefox and IE. Ctrl+D will creates a favorite instead and you even have a favorite menu in Firefox.

I tried dexpot and I have to agree with what nontroppo said, it's good, but I'd insist on the clunky adjective. It just lacks the grace of leopard or Compiz Fusion (Linux)... Oh well... ([off topic]in terms of smooth desktop animations, Windows XP is doomed. Even Vista's special alt tab effect is clunky if you don't have a video card of the year (in comparison, compiz effects are perfectly smooth on my almost 2 year old inspiron[/off topic]).

Lashiec, that's what I meant before : the 25 items not showing was happening because of duplicates suppression. I didn't express myself properly, and that often happens with English.
But, regardless... what's the difference between acceso directo and lnk in your screenshot ?

I believe he already did, Lanux.  :)

Just as a test I tried pasting this in as a "custom path" but again with no effect.

What does the result list show when you write "ff" + space ?

Mine shows this :

BTW, an alternative to Truecrypt is also mentioned (free, and open source, and it's got a pda version) : FreeOTFE, and I don't believe it's ever been mentioned here on DC.

The strong point of TC's plausible deniability is that a given container can have two separate keys

I believe that to be plausible, any given container should have an infinite amount of separate keys (infinite being a purely theoretical value...).

But if you take a disk image (sector copy) then it will be the same encrypted data.

...As the container/drive is always encrypted (and only decrypted in RAM, IIRC).

But anybody does imaging of encrypted drives here? According to that thread (as an example) http://www.wildersse...wthread.php?t=196136, it doesn't seem like a fun thing.

here's what the Acronis moderator says :
Thank you for your interest in Acronis Software.

Please be aware that Acronis True Image does not officially support third-party encryption software, so it's not recommended to create images of encrypted drives from Windows. It is always possible to create a sector by sector image of a hard drive using Acronis Bootable Rescue Media though, which is the recommended method for such cases.

Please also notice that corporate versions of Acronis True Image feature encrypting backups with industry-standard AES cryptographic algorithm (key size 128, 192, 256 bit).

Thank you.

And another poster says :

using encrypted virtual disks is the best solution.
Making an image of a normal non-encrypted system partition is a fast, easy, simple and reliable procedure. To backup a virtual disk you just burn it to a DVD.
Making an image of a whole encrypted disk is a nightmare - very slow creation & restoration, the chances something to go wrong are many times higher, images are huge etc. (not only when using ATI, but with any imaging app). Also WDE affects system performance far more than using only encrypted containers for sensitive data.

Any file may get corrupt, it's your fault there was no backup. If you don't like PGP, use TrueCrypt containers. But WDE is just an unnecessary complication

stuff to think about IMO if you need to image/backup your system a lot.

I like your analysis. I don't have Vista or the new KDE nearby to "check" what you're saying, but it seems quite sound... Of course, I wasn't speaking of the "start menu" per se (and I don't think Josh was either), but more about the search box and its easy access.

That actually happens all the time. Isn't it because all links to the same object (and other similar results) count for 1 result but won't be shown in the result list (because of useless redundancy)?

Nice one Lanux. I usually don't care too much about those in the sys tray, but an option to see them with a certain hotkey combination would be nice. Considering that the alt tab farr plugin is already built, I wonder if adding such an option would be feasible...?

(I've configured certain hotkeys to show certain hidden windows with AHK. For example, I had a problem with X1's hotkey not working anymore and not even showing in the preferences anymore... so I added these lines to one of my AHK script :

#x::
IfWinExist, X1 -
{
    WinActivate
}
else
{
    Run C:\Program Files\X1\X1.exe
    WinWait, X1 -
    WinActivate
}

Works well! Of course, you need to know the name of the hidden window, and ShideWin can help!

Welcome to dc cjs2!  :)

Have you changed the bookmark file location ? If yes, you should indicate the path in the the advanced plugin option for the farrfox plugin.

as for "not having to type "ff", you could configure a special hotkey (with farr's hotkey system) that will enter ff automatically. But if what you mean is that you'd like farr to treat bookmarks as file names, url or links, I guess mouser would have to link the plugin to the usual search and unify the results in some way... Or something like that...

1- CPU utilisation is now 0 when idle
2- Pivot table/chart are now based on the grid displayed items
3- Item grouping improvements

This is really really nice Pierre. #1 means that I'll be able to have SQLNotes running all the time!  :)
I'll have to check the 2 other points now.

(BTW : i guess that will be in a subsequent "daily build"?)
