Safari, I don't even try to test. Opera is great and all but many elements render differently than all other browsers but I won't try fixes nevermind for Safari.

2. Total applications in startup and open at same time is a bigger issue than any one app, unless you use things like 3D modelling which have their own stated requirements.

General Software Discussion / Re: AdBlock Plus To Not Block All Ads
« Last post by rgdot on December 13, 2011, 01:37 PM »
The genesis of things like Adblock should be getting rid of bad stuff (ie popups or ads that carry malware). Using Adblock for visual improvement of sites is pointless in my opinion. If a site I like decided to carry, for example, 1 'clean' flash ad I am not going to stop going there.

Million dollar idea for me or you or someone...directory, network of sites that never have any ads. Sort of a 'good' version of WOT

Cody did a bit more damage it seems. Why is this post, for example, being time stamped 11 something PM? It's 6:09AM Eastern right now.

They probably don't care about the victims of stolen accounts, but they do care about the cash they bleed to support staff needed to cope with stolen account retrieval procedures.

You are probably right, but having said that the 2 step verification setup itself is costing them a lot, if they didn't have Google voice infrastructure already I doubt they would provide 2 step verification so readily

I wasn't aware that it will ever be forced. As if google care that much about stolen accounts, but that's another 'debate'.

In my experience only way that comes close to effectiveness is rotating questions that need answering for the registration to be successful.

What do you expect from a culture that requires signatures to pay but a copy of the signature is on the back (credit cards)? Then they put in a chip and require four digits...

General Software Discussion / Re: Easy Remote access to another PC?
« Last post by rgdot on December 05, 2011, 05:39 PM »
Recently tried join.me for the first time. Extremely slow. Teamviewer by default sacrifices graphics (remote pc wallpaper, etc.) quality to get around that. LogMeIn which doesn't do that by default is still faster in my experience. May have been an isolated case but I won't be using join.me for now.

I would suggest considering BuddyPress, that would be my first consideration but of course it depends on your requirements, expectations and the Drupal familiarity which in my opinion makes some averse to WordPress based stuff  ;)

^ All have the same thinking in common, doesn't matter if the features or code base are much the same. Do stuff in the browser, Google more than others is vested in this idea.
