Developer's Corner / Re: Do you use a good office chair when programming?
« Last post by tomos on March 31, 2017, 01:36 PM »
I've never actually done standing at a desk myself, but the knee method sounds interesting.

It was out of necessity, since standing for 10+ hours was killing my feet. I am just lucky the length of my legs (from knee to floor) was perfect for that folding chair.

different scenario, but I found having to stand around (for work, e.g. selling) a killer as well.
I'd much prefer to sit -- or move.

Presuming you dont want to just show the whole image in the PDF window, and the PDF reader window is screensize or smaller, you can do a scrolling capture:

Ctrl+Shift+PrtScr
followed by Ctrl+Click in the area you want to capture.

There is a video somewhere to show how, but if you read instructions carefully, it should auto-select the correct options to make the operation easier.

Oups -- just now, I see it's described as 'standing support' :o

What exactly does that term mean? When I read that, I conjured an image in my mind of how I used to use a standing desk at one of the places I used to work, resting one knee on a folding chair of the perfect height, keeping one foot off the floor, switching about once per hour to give the other foot a rest. I suppose having something of adjustable height, without a back, and a firm padded seat (like that "chair"), would probably have been more comfortable than the folding chair I used.

I dont think it would be good as a 'standing chair', not one where you half-sit at any rate: like using an exercise ball, I'd be sliding off the edge of the domed seat, with all the complications that the combination of clothes and sliding give :-/
I've never actually done standing at a desk myself, but the knee method sounds interesting.

$6.99 today too, I clicked to finally get this. It showed me $19 Canadian. At current rate $6.99 would be ~$9.3
$6.99 has never been more than ~$11.50 in the last 30 years  :-\

I commented on bdj asking if I could pay US funds, but added a single line 'this (price conversion) sounds like April Fool's joke', I guess they blocked it because my comment hasn't showed up hours later .....

sounds like a mistake - here (.de) if I go to buy, I get the option to choose the currency, if I choose CAD I get 9.23 (before local tax)

« Last post by tomos on March 28, 2017, 05:27 AM »
Either "9W" is pronounced English or it's pronounced German.
If English: The "W" word does not have any equivalent in German. What the fuck is a "Nein Dabbelju"?
If German: The "9" is a Neun ("nojn"), not a Nine.

yeah, for a native german speaker it wouldnt work without effort -- the only solution is he's reading english, but speaking a sort of denglish.

I wanted to get a swopper for a long time, but wasn't willing to pay the 500+$/€ asking price. Saw this one (pic below) in ikea lately at ~ 50$, and thought I'd give it a go -- have only being using it a few days, but am getting used to it, and I like it so far.

Oups -- just now, I see it's described as 'standing support' :o
I have it adjusted so I sit with my hips slightly above the level of my knees:

The dome seat does feel very 'pushy' -- a bit too firm. Takes a bit of getting used to. Also if you sit incorrectly (which is easy to do), you can go numb down there, even my legs went numb initially. But I seemed to quickly / intuitively find the right way of sitting. Disclaimer: I've learned to sit upright without support via the Gohkale method, so this wasn't a big change for me. The design of the stool though does push you towards sitting with a straight back.

My niece had another from them, a 20$ office chair called ALRIK.
I was amazed by this one - just has support in small of the back which pushes the back straight. I sat in it for (just) a while and found it very comfortable.

Owners of 2012 should have gotten an email with upgrade price of 20 euros which prices includes vat/sales-tax -- no idea what the US$ offer is.

What makes it more interesting is that they are offering a free copy of Macro Express with an upgrade purchase.
Note: it's not clear what the licencing terms for Macro Express are. And I'm not sure of its development status (forum is there, and it supports win 10, so alive at any rate)

EDIT//
I guess it's okay (?) to post the code for the upgrade offer:

Shop link is:

17 jokes that only smart people will really appreciate

musn't be much fun if you dont understand any of them and have to read all the explanations. Which are so unfunny. Disclaimer: I had to read a couple of the explanations myself.

I enjoyed:

A logician's wife is having a baby. The doctor immediately hands the newborn to the dad. The wife says, "Is it a boy or a girl?" The logician says, "Yes."

and
Heisenberg was speeding down the highway. A cop pulls him over and says, "Do you have any idea how fast you were going back there?" Heisenberg says, "No, but I knew where I was."

1. Use a different browser when surfing to such sites, and mark that browser exe to exclude from CHS monitoring.

I can go with this

http://www.bonitasoft.com/products
thanks Panzer,
the video at the first link there helped a bit -- I'm still a bit bemused that Contro goes from looking for something simpler than abstractspoon's ToDo List, to this.

So a Microsoft Project or even the project manager I have with Goldmine is too heavy for me
Beautiful software is Bonita open soft with a free version enough to many users

BPMN software seems a very powerful way to manage tasks and projects. Business tasks and business projects.

I have download and try this software offering free options that fullfill my target.

There is a giant amount of documentation in web. I think BPMN is workflow with "addons" (simulation, interaction, ...). I don't think is necessary to read the manual of several hundreds pages to begin using the program.

let us know how you get on Contro !

There is an option "Don't ask me to confirm deletion of files" -- but note that it's in the Image Browser tool (under File menu) not in the Automatic Screenshotter tool.

yes, that's what I'm talking about:

in the included image browser, when I delete a file -- whether I do Shift+Del or just Del -- I get the same dialogue asking do I want to permanently delete. [Maybe that's the only delete option?]
1449
Not sure if this the correct thread mouser,
portable version:
in the included image browser, when I delete a file -- whether I do Shift+Del or just Del -- I get the same dialogue asking do I want to permanently delete. [Maybe that's the only delete option?]

PS, in my ideal world, I would have the option to not show a dialogue for regular delete (recycle bin), and to continue to display dialogue for Shift+Del (this for Screenshot Captor too!). But this a trivial request in terms of importance.
(I had that option at some stage but cant remember where: I thought it was with dopus, but no.)

We recommend that you do not perform this action.
Were you to do this, your fingers would drop off and your nose split and peel back.
