I just updated an hp printer/scanner through windows update 'custom setting' and it fixed the problems she was having. So they do have some hp drivers apparently.

Though windows update is not what I recommend over the manufacture website. This did work. Maybe it would help you.

Found this at Major Geeks.
You have to be registered to download that zip file though.
If you click on register all you need to give is a user name and password I think.
I haven't tried it.

Living Room / Re: A fork in the road - dangers of web services
« Last post by cmpm on November 26, 2008, 06:57 AM »
It seems related to all online services Paul.
Cause any service can close their doors.
Xdrive is as well as some other different online services that I was checking out and deleted their bookmark when they had a 'no longer available' note for it's page.

http://www.techcrunc...up-closes-its-doors/

For instance.

I just recently backed up my Gmail and will be on a regular basis because of this apparent danger.

I've always thought of online backup as secondary to your own hard drive. Like I have pictures on adrive but I sill have them on my hard drive. I can't depend on adrive to be the primary backup. My primary backup is the slave on this computer and the slave on another computer, with adrive as a convenience.
My Syncplicity, Dropbox and Zapr are just tools to use and not for backup primarily, just services that are cool to use and make things easier.

Backup in real time program, that may help.
It says as soon as the files change it is backed up.
So real time monitoring and choice of folders as well.
Free.

http://www.codessentials.com/index.html

Yadis! Backup

    *  It's FREE
    * It's small
    * It's easy to use
    * You can fully decide what to backup
    * It copies one on one your files to allmost any destination you want
    * You don't need Yadis! Backup to access the backed-up files
    * The marked folders are backed-up real-time (no scheduling needed!). You make a change? Yadis! Backup makes a backup
    * When your backup destination isn't available, Yadis! remembers the changes you have made. Whenever the location becomes available Yadis! starts backing up the changes.

Also, Curt, if you want to try Classic Compact theme, there is also a Classic Compact Options add on.

https://addons.mozil...h/?q=classic+compact

The first two of course.
Anyway, there is a setting in the options to make the scroll bar use windows style, which makes it wider and easier to use. It willl take a little bit for it to kick in, I thought it wasn't working and finally it changed to a wider scrollbar.

Set Scrollbars to OS Native (FF). In the options.
There's a lot you can change to make it look like the default theme also.

Worth a look imo.

I also use KatMouse.
So I can scroll with the wheel on the mouse.
And it has some other perks also..

Yeah, I use Back To Top, but it won't do what RichScrollBar does.
It's handy to get to the last post in this forum for example.

Yeah, same here after getting the right theme installed.
Just uninstall it and see if someone else can do better.

I use Classic Compact theme with large icons and no text.
Works great for me. But that richscrollbar is not for that theme.

good to 4.0
change the name
from .zip to .xpi
then drop into an open firefox window and it will install

I don't know, yksyks.
I haven't tried that yet.
Is there a size limit?
The one thing about Zapr is that the limit is as big as your own hard drive or whatever drive you use.

From makeuseof.com

http://www.makeuseof...share-files-desctop/

http://zapr.com/index.aspx

I found this very useful as it uses your computer to host the files or folders.
So the size limit is your hard drive, pretty cool imo.
You can make a hyperlink for anyone to download your files or folders.
Or you can use it with your e-mail for privacy.

The person could just drag and drop the files one at a time, into a new folder (about as quick as selecting) and after burning, put them back where they were.

Ok, sorry, forgot your first post.
I find that sometimes it makes copies of the files into the same folder slipping on that dang control button.

Have you tried cdburnerxp yet?
It's simple to me anyway,
but it may not be what you want completely.

Yeah, Jalbum is probably the better choice.

But I thought you could do it with XP's built in burner by using the commands in the left panel for each file in the folder window. They are stored in a temp folder till you are ready to burn them.

Be careful, you may not be able to get your start menu back the way it was before you used JetStart. If you don't like it.

I tried one just like this, in fact it looks exactly the same.
Once it changed the start menu it could not be undone.
I manually fixed it, and that took a while.

I have been collecting them over the years from flickr feeds.
I would have liked to have been at those places!
A couple I have.

Yes, it's more an editor then an organizer.
But it can be used for that task.

I think vsophotoonweb may be pretty easy.
You can choose individual files or folders.
The default viewer is your browser, since it's design is for the web.
But that could be changed with 'open with' I think.

Here's a sample I just made and published with vso to the desktop where it made it's own folder that I titled the album.
Then I put it in My Dropbox and this is the index link Dropbox gave me.

For organizing you could use paint.net.
For burning I use CDburnerXP.

http://www.filehippo.../download_paint.net/

http://www.filehippo...download_cdburnerxp/

Also, to make a slide show or presentation you could use this VSO product and publish it to a folder then burn it to a cd. It's a freebie.

You have a fine setup in Collaber.

But some people do not want the middle man, the server run by another party. Which is the way a lot of sync programs work.

But there are a few that can deal directly with network places and shared folders over the net or home network. Both free and not free.
1422
If it's in you network places or shared docs, they can be synced, with Goodsync. Without limits for the pro version.

I am trying humyo.com and it's program, but there is no sync capabilities without a purchased plan. Although you can upload up to the specified limits.

Some pretty nifty and nice tools.
Better then previous ones I've seen here and there.

Here's one for Firefox for downloading.
I thought it was useful, cause I put pics in one folder and apps in another. Saves having to move it after downloading.

This is the one I use, when I need it, which is rare.
Very batch capable.

What program did you use to extract the pics?

Could be the answer is in it's help or faq section.

Strange problem for sure.
