or rename the folders, using a pattern, when you put something into the folder.
As an example: "step_01" is not empty, but "!step_01" is still empty.

^oh yeah, fault finding! I just knew I forgot something...  :wallbash:

----

I have gone ahead and installed this add-on to use as a backup when DH fails: https://addons.mozil...tube-video-download/

I donated, but at first didn't see the thing work quite so "Pro" as expected. Turns out the license merely is a cookie from the Thank You!-page, so protection and/or a bookmark is important.

It should be noted that I actually have two "addon listers": The mentioned Extension List Dumper, and one that is part of the QA/Automation/Projects/Addons/NightlyTesterTools: >Nightly Tester Tools :: Add-ons for Firefox<

OK, clarification: Hold down SHIFT when starting, check box marked Disable all add-ons, then hit the (rather large) button that says Make Changes and Restart.
PS. Yes, Vevo videos fail here too, (but that's a bonus)

Thanks for the clarification. However, there was no "enable all", to finish the job! :stars:

I have not visited VEVO for sooo  looong  that I completely had forgotten that VEVO is synonymous with "Sorry! The page you are looking for is not available in your region." I have tried HOLA Unblocker /USA, but it didn't pay out at once, so I skipped it again.

I've managed to solve part of the problem, but not the problem itself. Go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and click "Use HTML5 Player when possible", and YouTube will then offer one more file for downloading. This one DownloadHelper will grap, even if it originates from Vevo.

^interesting. Just before you posted, I was thinking, "are they all originally from Vevo?" and then you said the same thing! Maybe Vevo is the sinner? I will remember to make a note about this the next time I go video hunting.

^sounds easy, but you cannot enable extensions when in safe mode...

Always "download", never "and convert"; I am not a paying customer there.

However, 4wd, if you don't have any problems downloading from YouTube, (thank you for informing!), my problem must be one of the addons. It so far seems I must take the hard walk, testing them. There really are times when I want fewer extensions... (?!)

General Software Discussion / getting empty video files via Firefox > DownloadHelper?
« Last post by Curt on February 25, 2014, 04:09 PM »
Are any other Firefox (Pale Moon) DownloadHelper users but me having troubles with YouTube, downloading empty video files? I think the problem began with version 23, but it may be just a little older.

AVG Internet Security 2014 Free Download with 1 Year Trial Serial Key

This free 1 year trial is actually intended for Huawei dongle users but it works for everyone lol. And in terms of features and protections, there are no differences between a trial and a paid license — you get all the same features, updates, and protection.

There is also an AVG Antivirus Pro 2014 Free 1 Year Trial:
http://www.mostiwant...-key-license-number/
But of course Anti-virus is already included in the Internet Security suite.

General Software Discussion / Re: Windows moving around after monitors wake up
« Last post by Curt on February 20, 2014, 09:22 AM »
if the problems not have gone away, I would try to install a program like DisplayFusion (one doesn't have to change wallpapers just because a wallpaper-changer is included) or Actual Multiple Monitors from Actual Window Manager. They both offer you to create monitor profiles that Windows should obey.

When I was a young sergeant with a new team to lead, I was at first too helpful for anybody's good. When I had helped my team in a situation where I thought "well, they are new and I want my team to make this test faster than the other teams", the next time we were tested, they didn't do anything, because they were all sitting, waiting for me to do their job!!

This is almost what just happened to tomos ;-)

Yes, but that's only the number of file manager programs you have installed

179.

for some reason I thought this was for gamers, when it was first posted, so I didn't check the post. Well, today I was given my third chance, so I finally read the thread! Thank you, 4wd, Revo reports that I now have 178 programs installed. No, there is not a digit missing...  8)

... no one I know uses Win8.  My wife has never asked me if she should move to Win8.  No one in my office is using Win8.  No one has told me  that to solve a problem I'm having, I should move to Win8.x. There's just no compelling reason to move. ...

^well spoken. I have the Win 8 Pro installer & key, but am running Win 7, because I was not really given any reason to upgrade.

From the ones I heard, I liked Soundpimp the best. However it comes at a cost of 52 USD last time I checked. DFX is also good, this one I am currently trialling. This one is a lot cheaper and its a simple interface works for me. Now if you have lots of time and money on your hands: www.audiomulch.com More time than money? Try these:  Sound amplification (superuser.com) scroll a bit down for the post that is marked as the answer. This post contains links to a website with very interesting software and commercial virtual cable software.  You could use this free/donationware alternative virtual cable software.

^wow, Shades, your answer is really thorough!
Especially the superuser answer "13" is a must read

Sticky Password is not compatible with Pale Moon.

do you mean, "not compatible with Firefox 27"? Pale Moon should be but a Firefox.

modifying:
I said it wrong. Of course PM 24.3.2 is not identical to Ff 27. However, I have not yet had any kind of troubles with extensions on Pale Moon.

But I don't think it is the photo itself that is different, (if anyone can understand what I mean), but the virtual make-up on the girl's chins. Two editions of the same photo.
