A new JS post at Github: ISIS.js

Here's the JS file - it's just as good! Anyone that codes will laugh their head off! :P

Code: Javascript [Select]
  1. console.log('Allah-o-Akbar');
  2. var head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0];
  3. head.parentNode.removeChild(head);
  4. console.log('Obama, the next element is on you!');

A new JS post at Github: ISIS.js
The Update README.md states:
Code: Javascript [Select]
  1. ISIS.js
  2. =======
  3. -"ISIS.js - injects islamic motivation into the console, removes the <head> tag, and blames america."
  4. +ISIS.js - injects islamic motivation into the console, removes the \<head\> tag, and blames america.

Maybe this should be posted in the coding snippets section...  :tellme:

Living Room / Site for linking to sites you don't like
« Last post by Renegade on September 04, 2014, 12:45 AM »
I just happened across this:

http://www.donotlink.com

link without improving "their" search engine position

...

Who uses donotlink?

Skeptics, bloggers, journalists and friends on social media use donotlink to link to scams, pseudoscience, misinformation, alternative medicine, conspiracy theories, racist / sexist blog posts, etc. without improving the search engine position of the site they are discussing.

Here's a link to DoCo:

http://www.donotlink.com/bhm8

It's slightly different than a shortener. Check the link above to see.

A Clockwork Orange (imdb)

After reading a recent news article, I immediately thought of a few parallels in A Clockwork Orange. Strange how fiction becomes or parallels reality sometimes.

What kind of look do you get on your face when you hear bits of Beethoven's 9th? Why, this of course!

Much of the set really isn't SFW. So, no bar furniture screenshots. :P

Or perhaps this:

Where the priest basically lays down Immanuel Kant for buddy boy (big issue and brought up later):

"Goodness is chosen. When a man cannot choose, he ceases to be a man."

Possible spoilers/reminders ahead

The doctor making a comment:

"Soon we may be needing all our prison space for political offenders."

Time to watch a movie!!!

And lick a boot!

What is he looking at?!?

Screenshot - 2014_09_04 , 1_36_30 AM.png

Hint: It's bloody awesome! ;) Oh, the applause!

Familiar faces? God, the irony there...

Hmmm...

But, no more after that.

After 43 years, the film still really keeps up and relevant.

Living Room / What age is too young for a mobile phone?
« Last post by Renegade on September 03, 2014, 08:57 AM »
Apparently, the age is getting younger for marketers:

http://detroit.cbslo...-young-is-too-young/

Many metro Detroit kids headed back to class on Tuesday with the pencils, pens, notebooks and lunch — but what about a mobile phone?

How young is too young?

A study by the National Consumers League says 60 percent of U.S. parents offer cell phones to 10 and 11-year-old children.

...

“So by the time they turn 6, 7, 8, they’re very comfortable with the mobile devices.”

More at the link.

But, one of those things to think about. e.g. How many adults actually know how to manage a mobile device properly? :P

Living Room / Re: Buying a 125CC Motorbike...Your Opinions Wanted!
« Last post by Renegade on September 03, 2014, 01:42 AM »
I suppose a lot of it depends on where you live and what kind of driving you need to do, but scooters might be something to think about. Some make it much easier to carry more cargo, e.g. for grocery shopping.

But StoicJoker is the one to ask about bikes.

Noooooo, I don't want a scooter...I live in a VERY hilly valley, which I will at least need SOME power for.  I have the car for most tasks...the bike will be commuting to/from work and for days out with the lady.

Got it. Makes sense then. (You can get 125cc scooters though.)

Make sure to hit up SJ for ideas.

Living Room / Re: Do you use a Portrait mode monitor?
« Last post by Renegade on September 02, 2014, 08:36 PM »
Also, any apps that have long lists (or long pages) work better in portrait mode, as there is less scrolling involved.

That's what I find. I'm using my portrait monitor more than the others now as it's far better for long text. Combined with text window splitting (Word and Visual Studio), it makes life a lot easier. Scrolling just takes too much time compared to moving your eyeballs.

In all seriousness, Ren is a great editor.  Though I didn't get my story published, between Ren's suggestions, and the suggestions of a friend who is a professional writer, the story that came out was a lot better.  I just need to get back to it.

Thank you!  :-*

I saw that. It seemed, um, fitting. :)

Hmm...looks like 40hz's thread has just become Renegade's human shield...  :huh: :P

Actually, app shields. No, not that app. Just plain old app. :)

But there is a growing trend out there for activist apps. I've seen quite a few. I think I might have posted about 1 somewhere.

Sidekik is nifty as it lets you simply tell the LEO, "Talk to my lawyer!"

I thought this discussion thread was the best place to post this:
Hillary Clinton: 'Our technology companies are not part of our government' | The Industry Standard - InfoWorld

She'll get my vote any day with humorous quips like that.

Hheehehe~! That was cute. She's such an adorable little bundle of war mongering hate. :)

Check John Kerry. He's good for a few laughs as well.
