Didn't find scripts, but:

https://sourceforge....s/Portable%20Verson/  -  this tool prevents your computer falling asleep when downloading something (portable).
http://dlaa.me/blog/post/9956802  -  this tool prevents your system from falling asleep as long as it is activated (portable). Can be started separately at your own discretion or together with the tasks you want.
https://www.donation.../Skrommel/index.html - either 'LowToSleep' or 'Noise' could help you.

Found one more:
http://www.softwareo...=Microsoft/DontSleep  -  this tool prevents your computer to fall asleep, but it can also prevent system shutdown, Standby, Hibernate, Turn Off and Restart at your discretion. Might be handy too.
I think Don't Sleep 3.91 is the very best.
Perhaps for other purposes may serve Insomnia perfectly well.
A great selection !!!!!

I
I would like an automated script to modify this time during some tasks without assistance and come back to the standard conditions I have.

https://www.donation....msg311964#msg311964

WTPF.exe <program.exe>

It'll stop the computer from sleeping until the program exits.

It's a good solution and I think that combined with a bat file may be more useful when we try to control several programs

I have get to introduce more than one program.
Initially I can't, but if I introduce a new line (update) after minimizing and maximizing the program I can add more lines.

Seems very interesting if I can propose the time that program will be running

Cyber Ghost seems to me a little tricky with its offers. But this seems not true : https://deals.techdi...ifetime-subscription

Lifetime subscription ? .

Cyber Ghost offer - in my opinion- several offers, but the premium one is more expensive than others.

General Software Discussion / Integration Software
« Last post by Contro on October 27, 2016, 10:12 AM »
This morning i was in fi2
There was an  interesting conference about think double, work middle or something similar using diagrams able to connect with actions

Like Bonita

With the deprecation of the platforma TwitterFeed I have an inmediate problem with internet automated publications, but with this tool may be an alternative.
I ask if the connection to the database was an external database or my own database. They answer was my own database.....

That's integration software.
Our old or beloved software integrated in our platforms.

Do you know more tools ?
Do you know a 100% free alternative to TwitterFeed ?

Best Regards

BrowserTraySwitch / Re: Does BrowserTraySwitch work on Win 8.1 x64?
« Last post by Contro on October 18, 2016, 06:56 PM »
BrowserTraySwitch hasn't gotten much attention from me in the recent years.. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work with Windows 8, but it's possible that it doesn't..  If someone can confirm that it doesn't work, and has some insight into why the default browser registry settings wouldn't be effecting windows 8, I'm happy to update it.
It's not working. But I am not able to help.
Looking into my documentation I have an old alternative Change Default Browser 1.0 . The webmaster don't exist nowadays. And also don't go well under windows 8.1 64 bit.
If you need change often of browser perhaps not fixing the default one may help.
The first launch the operating system ask you between the installed ones (except those that really are the same browser : firefox and Waterofx....) . The next launching will continue with the last browser selected.
If you want to change select open with and use another.

Change the default browser in the registry in windows 8.1
I search and if I found something interest i will comment here.

Best Regards

General Software Discussion / Re: Data Disk recovery software
« Last post by Contro on October 11, 2016, 08:26 AM »
would creating a sector by sector image of the whole drive be a good idea first ?
Then you can mess around all you like with different recovery programmes, if the HD dies, you have a copy.

If you make a sector level copy you don't need the original HDD to recover from, just mount the image (or plug in the HDD you made the clone to) and perform the recovery on that - no need to stress the original HDD any further.

Try Recuva first, if it can't see them then try PhotoRec which is probably the best freeware data recovery tool out there atm - PhotoRec is not restricted to just images.
May be a good idea.
Just because Recuva is not free. And the free version only repair some gigabytes. 2 GB I think.

The disk is 2 TB

If the disk is not working well though, what you want is to be able to copy the contents as quickly as possible.
I'm not sure that these recovery programmes are a good idea if the disk is in poor condition:

Disclaimer: I have not made a sector by sector image of a drive. I think it should have everything on it though (see if other people confirm that).
Recuva Pro does
I think the disk is in good health. Is under guarantee too. I don't know what happen.
I have lost two hard disk by little moves during work and now I fear everything.
It's time to think about a NAS....

Recuva is good in my experience for image/video files:
haven't tried it with other file formats.
I tried photorec for images too.
The disk to recover is a data disk.
Most of the content are multimedia files. But include some pdf, docx, etc.

General Software Discussion / Data Disk recovery software
« Last post by Contro on October 11, 2016, 03:04 AM »
I have an external seagate hard disk of  2 TB

Some days ago the unit don't go well and was not possible to read data.
I have used several utilities to check the disk with no errors and considerable usage of time.

I decided to format the unit and recover data after that

Now I can access the unit.

What are the best tools for this purpose ?

I remember testdisk and photorec to recover photos or images from flash drives.

Best Regards

Please only tested programs you have use in the past with good results.
I need the program to run under windows 8.1 or windows 7

General Software Discussion / Re: ResizeEnable for windows 8.1
« Last post by Contro on October 11, 2016, 02:59 AM »
they can resize windows, but they have no window resizer.

The Resize state is turned on as soon as you start resizing a window with the mouse pointer opposing arrows cursor; i.e., hover the pointer over the border of the window until it turns into opposing arrows, then left-click on the window's border and (keeping the mouse button depressed) drag the border to its new size. Another way to resize a window is to activate its system menu and select there the Size command, then use the arrow keys to resize the window - finally pressing <Enter> to keep the selected size or <Esc> to cancel the changes. When you release the left mouse button or press one of the above-mentioned keys, Resize state is turned off. Actual Tools programs can automatically execute the following actions while resizing a window:

Aero Snap - toggle the Aero Snap sizing effects.
Make Transparent - set the specified transparency level. The previous transparency level will be restored when the Resize operation is completed.
Restrict Placement - deny resizing a window so it goes beyond the defined limits.
Snap - place the dragged window's border with no gaps to desktop borders and other windows.

As a not so funny fact, my task manager has a window resizer included. But it's a $50 task manager, not a window resizer...

I'll take a good look Curt.
