There are a few programs that come to mind:

- ADRC Data Recovery Tools
- Avira UnErase Personal
- Restoration
- Undelete Plus

Is it one of them?

General Software Discussion / Gmail IMAP support available
« Last post by PhilB66 on October 24, 2007, 01:04 AM »
I really dont think that online applications will ever, truly, replace desktop based applications. Gmail is nice, but I prefer to have my email stored locally as well as remotely. I cannot do this with gmail unless I use pop, which is a pain in the butt and quite an old/outdated protocol. I love IMAP. If gmail supported it, I would gladly move to it permanently, however, I cannot since IMAP has become quite a necessity to me. As far as other online apps, I still think a more full featured desktop application would be preferrable to an online version which is just ok.

Good news! GMail IMAP Support

You should try Samurize. It's extremely light on resources.

RMDIR /S appears to give the same functionality in XP.

I picture is worth a thousand words....

Anyway, I don't leave raw executables sitting around on my drive. They are always archived. This give much more protection against damage in the event of a malicious virus.
 (see attachment in previous post)

What is this nifty software in your picture?

Looks like Windows Explorer addons - QT TabBar and FindeXer.

@J-Mac
You could have LF Connection Keeper start as application by unticking the Startup Options (see pic)

Also, if you do not enter your connection settings, LFCK will not automatically login and logout to your ISP.

Just remembered another post about WinLock. You could hide the Start Button with this one as well.

I am using Samurize for network monitoring performance. I read about LFCK in a forum awhile back and gave it a try. I did not encounter any of the issues described above. I will give it another go later on tonight (HK time) and report back.

« Last post by PhilB66 on October 02, 2007, 10:55 PM »
Yep - I knew about that reg key

Does any one know a way to move the whole user profile to a different partition,

eg. move C:\Documents and Settings\Carol and everything in it (including the user profile files etc)

to D:\

1. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/236621 (Windows 2000 & 2003) and an article based on this KB but adapted to work for Windows XP @ http://www.dennislaz...ocumentsandsettings/

2. Another guide... Storing Windows profiles on a different partition

BTW, here's a great portal to search for KB articles
