I've uploaded a new version that will also work with tools that write out the changes to the input file  ... make sure you change the argument string to just "%infile%" (instead of "%infile%" "%outfile%").

That works very nicely and hands stuff out for processing by an editor that has many years' worth of Rexx macros built into it.

How about one of the screensaver programs as an inexpensive option? If mouser's doesn't do the trick I think gPhotoShow would.

it's failing because you are passing in both the input and the output file

chs_sampletool.exe wants a .dll that I don't appear to have. The Perl script does its best but is thwarted by the fact that I haven't Perl installed  :)
As far as I can see, though, the mechanisms work as intended — FWTW. Items set that don't call those tools work fine, as with the old, single panel.

It must be my setup. I just set the external tool to be an editor and the editor is looking in the wrong place for the file.

To test: if you are in notepad, select some text and hit Ctrl+Q, does anything happen?
Entirely my fault, same as usual.  :-[

The Preset Hotkey Trigger doesn't want to take Ctrl+Q (which was set in the previous version).
Can someone else see if that's so?

whether you want mealtime tracking, or, say, a twenty-four  hour summary, i.e., a regular scan to determine - and log - current location, or an activity summary scan.  That latter one could get pretty intense

I downloaded Screenshot Captor as the first program to work with.

Doesn't that also apply to some terror movies?
So, you did watch those highly recommended Screenshot Captor movies  ;)

Hi all I am a 67 yr old male from Louisville KY ... not sure what I hope to get out of it though.

Welcome, Larry!

I hope you get a lot out of DC.  Screenshot Captor is a good start

I would prefer to use Firefox (my preferred browser), but I have not yet found a similarly useful script/add-on.

It's easy enough to toggle this one any number of ways. Have you tried and rejected it? It's not perfect.

you might also consider setting the system default background colour from white to a sort of light mustard colour

I'll second that one! Been doing it ever since it was possible. I don't want to be snow-blind.

mouser,

I can see your reasoning but I have to agree that the new layout that you showed above seems counter-intuitive. On the existing panel, I can use your cleverness to create some useful items in a trice (only a little slower than a bice but certainly faster than a vice). By the time I stumbled through the new layout I'd have forgotten what I was trying to do. I have found it useful to see all of the options in one place. Keeping together as many items as possible would be an advantage, as seen from my purely selfish perspective.

Well done!

It's amazing just how annoying we let the small things become.

I added an Image parameters configuration window to WinButtonEdit.

This is good stuff, Ath

Next up, mind reading?

I think the next requirement for me will be a bigger touch screen. I can use my file manager by touch on the MIMO, even though it's tiny, so accuracy isn't a problem. Size defeats function, however, in that I need visible labels for the buttons that I use now, unless and until I can come up with enough meaningful button images. For me, 12 point type seems to be comfortable and that eats up screen real estate.

Thank goodness for @LF@  ;D

Thanks, I'm off to have a game with it!

also a source of the background noise I'm trying to drown out.
;D

You could always try the Van Gogh method.

I've had system-silent environments and you're right, a lot depends on the amount and types of background noise. I think the soundproofing discussion's been around before  —  it's very difficult to do properly with a retrofit. Pink noise is probably a good solution. I'm with 40HZ, though, avoid running water at all costs... unless your office is of the smaller variety and furnished with porcelain ;D

Something loud enough to drown out the external sounds but pleasant enough to have on all day - is there anything like that I wonder
There is; you need a large diameter cooling device in your machine that emits the sound of applause. Apart from any other benefit, you'll find that it's a big fan of yours.

Non Aero - notepad - loses the bottom line.

do you mean it loses the bottom line from every page, or it does a successful scrolling capture but fails to grab the very last line in the file?
Actually, it's worse than I thought.
From a file of 534 lines I get this CraniOops.png and only this, i.e. no other pages at all.
