  Oh geeze, I can't even remember what all was missing from the new version.  I think some of the features was a bunch of filename clipboard commands, but I slept since then.  lol.

  Yes, I forgot to mention that the file was a downloader.  I have no idea why people do such things.  I do know the downloader was clean and didn't try to send out anything or download anything it wasn't supposed to.....

  If there was documentation for version 8 I could take a look and see if they dropped any of my favorite commands, otherwise I'd stay with 3.19 since it works just fine....   :)

  OK, how about a Caller ID app for a V.92 modem, perhaps one that can give you the option of putting the internet on hold while you take a call or Ignoring it.
  There are a few commercial programs like this, but they are either bloated with other non-essentials, cost way too much, or just don't work worth a toot.....

I installed version 11 of DMEX tonight and was very disappointed.  They dropped a whole bunch of stuff that I used in my older version, so I went back to v3.19.   :(

I downloaded it fine but AVG Free reports it is infected because it is named .zip.exe.

Is that the same file that you downloaded safely Lanux?  Better safe than sorry.

  I got it today.  For some reason it was confusing my downloading software, so I just used the built-in download and got it just fine.    :)

  I've been using SlickRun for over 6 months now, and I don't know how I ever lived without it.
  SlickRun is a free floating command line utility for Windows. SlickRun gives you almost instant access to any program or website. SlickRun allows you to create command aliases (known as MagicWords), so C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe becomes MAIL.
Enter a web URL into SlickRun and it will launch your browser and navigate to the specified address. Run multiple programs in a few keystrokes, jot a note, look up a definition... SlickRun is the most natural way to interact with your computer. 

  Unlike a hotkey program that has limits, with SlickRun you hit the Windows & Q keys and a floating command line, which is totally configurable, comes up.  Now all you have to do is type in the first letter of the program you want to run (or more letters, depending on how many programs that start out with the same letters) and it automatically fills in the rest of the name for you, hit enter and your program is ran.  You can even configure it to play any sound when a program is ran.  (Mine is configured to say "Program loaded and ready")

  I gave up all the hotkey programs I have ever used for this.  SlickRun will never run out of hotkeys, because there are none, the first to three letters that you type will run the program you want.

  And best of all, it's free, Fast and tiny, only 170Kb.  The Bayden website has several more freebies, but I haven't checked any of them out.

  Back when I used CDRW media, I too found that it was prone to errors.  I also found that anti-virus software will corrupt the data if running in the background while writing to CDRW.  And there are other programs/Apps that interfere with CDRW media as well.

  Since I have upgraded to DVD media, I have never got an error on any of my DVDRW's, even with the anti-virus running in the background.

  One of the biggest factors with CDRW media is the type of media your using.  Some brands/colors of media will work fine with certain brands of CD writers and fail on others.  The trick is to find the brand of CDRW media that works best for your particular CD writer.  Most all CD writers have a list of media that is suggested for use.

  And don't forget, match the speed of the media to the writer.  Don't use 40X media on a  32X CD writer.  Shut down un-needed background task, especially anti-virus.  And never ever have more than 1 CD authoring software installed on your computer at a time.  INCD and Roxio, or any other brand of writing software installed on the same machine will make lots of trouble.

  There are many tricks and tweaks for CDRW drives that can be found all over the internet....
