Did you try to simply re-install Replay?

I used to have Replay installed, and I don't remember it having anything to do with Windows Task Scheduler! If you have the neccessary license key to reinstall Replay, please allow me to encourage you to first install Revo Uninstaller Pro (30 days freee trial), and then use it to uninstall Replay.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Install Revo and when it is open, just 2x click Replay, and wait while Revo first is scanning.
=> it is then best to use Revo's setting "Advanced" (default is "Moderate").

Then re-install Replay, and the problem has hopefully left, without wrestling the Task Scheduler.  :tellme:

-apologies accepted, of course.

Here is another way of answering:

"Here you are: * tools_v6.0.9.zip (1773.79 kB - downloaded 610 times.)"

Installation
------------
Do NOT select "Get plugins to enhance calibre" as this is reserved for 'official' calibre plugins, instead select "Change calibre behavior" to go to Calibre's Preferences page.  Under "Advanced" click on the Plugins button. Use the "Load plugin from file" button to select the plugin's zip file (DeDRM_plugin.zip) and click the "Add" button. Click "Yes" in the the "Are you sure?" dialog. Click OK in the "Success" dialog.

You read a long text. You need to scroll in the text - and then you need to return. But now it seems the line has left the page! Where is it?
You need TextMarker Go!

I have come to like TextMarker Go. Remembering Ctrl+Shift+F9 and F2, makes it so much easier to temporary leave the paragraph you're reading in a long text and later on instantly come back to the very same line.

-thank you, Cuffy, what an excellent link!

-----------

I re-installed epubor, and successfully removed the DRM-protection!

But I have not yet been able to convert the same, huge .prc file. The ebook converters epubor and Calibre are both using too much RAM in an unpatiently way...; they freeze to death before there is enough memory available. I guess 225MB is quite a job. Do I really have to buy a new computer, in order to convert this ebook into a more useful format?

modified:
At http://ebook.online-convert.com/ I can convert the file for a mere $5. Cheaper than a new PC.

-sorry, I should of course have made it clear that "classics.prc" means "classics = more than 80 years old" => no copyright.

... third-party plugin http://apprenticealf...ving-most-ebook-drm/

The link (http://bayfiles.net/...ufd/tools_v6.0.9.zip) leads to an 440KB exe! Is it a downloader of the real thing, or will it destroy my pc and leave me bankrupted? Or does one really have to pay for a Premium account, in order to download the money-saving anti-drm extension? The problem could maybe be my browser not allowing some important popup telling me what I should have done.

Here is what my safety program thinks of the exe file:

The epubor ebook converter is a whopping $46 - it will need a huge discount, before I would jump that wagon!

further modified:
The "buy"-link inside the converter gave these prices: 1 year: $36. Lifetime: $55

37.gif

--------------
Unfortunately I was quick acting, but not quick thinking. At first launch, the epubor converter said something about having found some drm protected files, and asked me something. I couldn't imagine it was asking if I wanted to convert some of them for free, so my finger clicked Yes before I had understood the question - and the converter immediately converted two files. But because I not yet had understood anything, it was the "wrong" two files, the first, small files, not the big one! How stupid I feel right now.

but it still won't convert this DRM-protected book of mine :-(

The book (classics.prc) is at least 6 years old by now, but still I need Mobipocket Reader, to read it. This annoys me, because the book's content is 219MB text only, which really should be divided into a hundred booklets. Furthermore,  Mobi seems to never be updated.

How can I convert this dinosaur?

I'm trying to find page-size of PDF's - PDFInfo shows the page size in points** - I found very little info in the Xpdf page - do you know if this can be changed to metric (or anything else) within PDFInfoGUI ?

-meanwhile, "Open with..." > IrfanView > "Ctrl+R" will tell the informations you want. Just treat the pdf file as a picture:

I mean, you don't have to actually resize the file, just read the informations ;-)

Why didn't I know about this application? I'm really surprised I haven't seen it before, it is right up my alley! The simplicity, the spot-on-target, the high quality, the easy use while still very useful. I am impressed!

Well done, Renegade, really well done!

Should there be another version that doesn't rename, but maybe creates a subfolder?  :-\  I know I would go for such a version, because right now I will have to rename the transcoded files.

The normal listed price is $50, so at merely $20 (via sharewareonsale) I think the brand new Ashampoo Photo Commander 12 is well worth the price right now. I use it myself, especially to adjust horizontal misalignments.

-did you maybe go without the extension? Of course the site can never be as fast as the much simpler original, but with the extension, I thought it was almost fast. I have removed it, because I like the old look.

General Software Discussion / WikiWand=Wikipedia, but with a modern interface
« Last post by Curt on August 14, 2014, 05:37 PM »
WikiWand = Wikipedia, But With A Modern Interface
http://www.wikiwand.com/
https://addons.mozil...wikipedia-modernized

http://www.techsuppo...modern-interface.htm :
WikiWand
(...)
Wikiwand (www.wikiwand.com) is a web site which skins the standard Wikipedia content with a much more modern and professional look and feel.  Instead of browsing the online encyclopaedia via the normal wikipedia.org address, use www.wikiwand.com instead.  You get the same content, but with a much better presentation (as you can see from the screen shot below).

2014-08-15_002635.gif

There's also a free browser add-in which, the makers claim, allow pages to load around 3 times faster.  But even without the add-in, Wikiwand certainly does do a great job of bringing an internet institution up to date.  And because of all Wikipedia's content is freely licenced, there are no legal issues over copyright.
-techsupportalert

The extension will per default not install in Pale Moon (=Firefox 24="too old"), but if you force it to install, it will work just fine with PaleMoon as well. We are not too old.

wikiwandExtension.gif

I find it interesting that Wikipedia is not visited - the WikiWand add-on will re-direct the user to the WikiWand site which is simply a mirror of Wikipedia - but with just one click the user can go to the same article in Wikipedia.

--------------------
modified: Argh, I forgot a central part, didn't I:

An important point of the extension is that every time there is a wikipedia link in Google's search result, the add-on will automatically redirect you to the WikiWand site. Otherwise the procedure would of course be too slow.
--------------------------
1248
I am very grateful for the mirror-userscript "site". It is merely a static picture from the beginning of June 2014, but it is so much better than no userscripts at all. I am especially pleased with KarmaDecay "Reverse image search of Reddit": http://karmadecay.com/browser-tools

Back to what this thread is about. Here is my newest list from Pale Moon 24.5 > Add-ons Manager > Extension List Dumper:

However, if you begin with installing Nightly Tester Tool (from https://addons.mozil...ightly-tester-tools/ ) and click "force compatibility", all will be well; the old addons are not too old! The biggest problem may be the growing number of abandoned homepages that I have not (yet) replaced with the equivalent Mozilla link))

2015-03-30: *Firefox 36.0.4 broke a number of my listed addons*
