I couldn't get the darn ahk thing to work.
Although the .exe loads Gmail, I lost it in the registry.
It looked like what you had there Coeluh.

And thanks for that ahk exe.
It can be pinned to the start menu.

I looked for a good while before for an answer for this.
Looked again for a while today.
Found this, which is in beta, but shows some promise.
I could put Google Mail as the email program in control panel/internet options.

http://www.williamra...mailIconNotifier.htm

It does have it's quirks.
And I had to pin a gmail icon to the start menu.
But if this fella keeps working on it.
I think it would be great.

Found other solutions that required like 4 add ons.

http://labnol.blogsp...th-gmail-as-your.htm

Another is affixa-which used to be gAttach which worked good, but this is very different and replace gAttach forever I guess.

Not everyone can just buy more ram.
For some, that would mean another computer to build or buy.
The question here among other similar questions is, how can some of these programs help my computer as it is now.

Being appreciated and helping others is a big part of the attitude in any job I believe. Along with good people to work with helps a lot.

It don't matter if you are selling or service or giving things away. It's the giving that counts, and the satisfaction of the one being gave to is thankful. Because whether or not you get paid for it, you are giving your time, talent and energy into whatever you are doing. It's not a waste, as others benefit from it. And it's nice to hear about it too.

I'm a custodian/janitor at our local school system. And hardly hear anything except when something got missed or is dirty or some other mess. I used to be self employed and made 3 times as much as I do now. But after 9-11 the window cleaning I was doing was for residential mainly and it killed it for the rest of that year. I held on for 2 more years till I had to get another job. Over 20 years of doing windows, which is still a bit active, a few calls a year. Time for a change I think. Looking back.

Anyway there was immediate appreciation and results seen in window cleaning, but not so much in what I'm doing now. It was a big change in my life. But as I became more thankful, I put more in to what I was doing and it shows to the others I work with as well as the teachers, but they still don't say much. But when they do I'm thankful to hear it.

So anyway I guess what I'm saying is there is satisfaction that can be gained in any job. Try not to get held back by the amount of money made or what you are doing, but how much of you is going into it will be seen.

More money would be great, but that we don't have full control of.

There is hurtles in every occupation. Be it programming or whatever. New ones too. If we think about what we have to do too much it's like we already did it, and that is tiresome.

For cleaning temp files, and more.
You can use these tools.

ATF-Cleaner-

http://www.atribune....;id=25&Itemid=25

Cleanup!-

http://www.stevengou...ontent&task=view

With Cleanup! you can add folders to the cleaning job.
Like 'SoftwareDistribution/Download'. And whatever folder you want to.
After cleaning you will be prompted to log off or restart to delete some files.

I like not having the dots in my tabs.
Here's two vertical tab bars if you are interested.
Wide screen monitors would be great for these.

how the exe file was packed

Can you check with Outpost to verify or have them check it out themselves?
I guess they would have to download the file so send them the link, to reproduce your malware trigger.

I couldn't find what was supposed to be in my computer with this after googling Packed/Molebox.

But I did find some info googling 'Packed/Molebox photo pos pro'.
Interesting enough is DC is first on the list.
Though not suprised.
We cover most everything I think.

Some kept and some didn't trust it, looks like.
I kept it and virus and other scans reveal nothing about it.

You could try this Photo Pos Pro.
It's the full version, and still active, even though it was to end in March.

It still works as of this moment.

General Software Discussion / Re: logitech mouse drivers are pure evil
« Last post by cmpm on April 04, 2009, 02:10 PM »
If you have removed all logitech software and drivers.
And you have a microsoft mouse.
Plug it in and load ipoint.
It won't load intellipoint without detecting a ms mouse of some kind.
Then you can change the type and configuration of the mouse.

http://www.filehippo...wnload_intellipoint/

Then go to control panel-mouse.
Choose the best match for your logitech mouse.
Then configure the buttons and wheels as you like.

-This may work-

It worked for me, having a logitech mouse on one computer but wanted the ipoint features. I plugged in a ms mouse, loaded ipoint then switched back, unplugged ms and plugged in the logitech mouse. So I have a logitech mouse using ms mouse drivers and software.

The tabs are on the bottom of AC and use the Window dropdown to tile the open windows -2- vertically or horizontically. So you don't have to manually resize the windows.

I have breadcrumbs, but it doesn't appear in AC.

Hey Steven.

I seriously doubt if the restore points will even work.
System restore is unreliable imo. A bit off topic, but
I disabled it on my computer.

Better to use a good backup program.
Which is another subject I suppose.

---
Anyway,

Reading your post.
Auslogic is pretty lightweight as you may know for defrag.
Give jkdefrag a run and see if it makes a difference.
If you don't need your current restore points.
Disable system restore, defrag, and re enable it if you want to.
See if that makes a difference as well.

Yeah that's part of my routine when I do clean the computer.
Defrag. Once a month or so I will run my programs.
No I don't browse the temp files.

Just surfing the net isn't so bad, till you watch some videos or tv or download a lot of things and uninstall things.

Yeah I use it a lot for fun mainly.
Try different programs for whatever.
Not just computer performance.

If I blow it up, I figure out how to fix it.
learning is fun ....sometimes.
Not so much when I can't figure it out.

If this was a work related computer.
I may do things different, I don't know.
The ones at work are pretty much locked for playing around too much. I don't have time to surf much at work anyway.
They just now let Firefox in, mainly because the new pc/mac's come with it I believe.

And my wife's computer is a different story too...lol.

My sister-in-law bought a new computer and ran it for over a year without any maintaining at all. And wondered why it didn't work right and was very slow.
Just running Ccleaner perked it up. Then after I ran my routine on her comp, she was back up to speed.

Overall the the system runs better after cleaning all temp files, which includes prefetch and java cache.

I have no idea how it helps cpu and memory, but that is what powers the thing, is it not?

Honestly fodder, I don't think I can converse with you on these things I don't know much about. Not that that is something wrong, but you just know more and can't grasp what you are saying half or more of the time.

I've found somethings that improve the comp, and some that don't that others say does. Basically I see what the result is and don't see what actually transpires in the inner workings of the comp.

I could study up on those two sites from ms in CleanMem's explanation, posted somewhere here in this thread, or the link, and try to do what you laid out with the -1 deal. But that would be dangerous in my opinion, cause I don't know what I'm doing getting into the inner workings of XP. Which after doing what I don't know what I did and it faults somehow, I doubt if I could undo it.

Not afraid to do it, if I knew what I was doing. I can run programs and that's about it, or edit the registry as needed, with instruction. Programs that are recommended or high rated, I'm willing to try at the risk of a reformat. Cause I at least know how to backup stuff I want to keep.

One case in my computer life is Advanced System Care, which is rated high, recommended, and was fine till they upgraded to a newer version. It took out some things it should not have. But was restored because it backed up it's changes. So now I don't use it.

What I do use helps at this time.
With stability and performance.

Thanks Binder, a person can get lost looking at them all.
It was fun though. I have a few of them already.

I wasn't aware of Prism, although it's almost a year 6 months, without an update. PC's link is not correct.
Tried it though and I like it so far.

Hey! I didn't see these posts after the initial one.
Yeah, Ehtyar, I just wanted it to be a compliment and an update,
without a big discussion of Firefox in general.

Saw the vulnerability deal, on Download Squad, and here I think,
and last I heard it would be next week for the 3.0.8,
to fix it.

And I just checked through Firefox manualy to see if it was there early this morning.
And it was, didn't know if many others knew about it

I wasn't sure where to put it mouser.
General Software about 3.0.8?
I don't know .9 will be out next or another.
So that was my thinking, change it if you like.
Alright with me.

Try 'Imagine" and set it to open .gif files.

http://www.nyam.pe.kr/

If you don't already have the program, the latest is in the first topic. Imagine can be set as the default viewer for most any graphics. But just do it for .gif and let's see what happens.

It's a good program and safe.

Firefox update to 3.0.8 is available through help-update FF, now.

It could be found on some servers by searching yesterday according to DownloadSquads blog. But advised to wait in case of last minute changes and distribution.
