Skrommel's Software / Re: Eject/CloseCD
« Last post by jgpaiva on July 13, 2008, 04:00 AM »
Hi johnnyzero!
From what I understand from reading the help file, the '0' is for eject and the '1' is for close.
You can try the following, though:

{
Drive,Eject,%A_LoopField%:,0
if (Errorlevel = 0)
  Drive,Eject,%A_LoopField%:,1
}

Instead of the Drive,Eject line.
That'll check if the state of the drive changed, and if not, do the other command.

What, is there anything else other than ;)

Thanks! I feel like home already!
Glad to know that :)

It's been a busy afternoon: made myself a font and such. :)
I tried that yesterday.. didn't go that well. I guess it probably wasn't made for images taken with a camera instead of a scanner  ;D ;D

And... I use Opera, too.  8)
That means you're half way up on the ladder for success :D

PS: You killed the poor dinossaurs?!?!

Hi.

My first post here.
Welcome Anne! :) Pull up a chair, make yourself at home!

I especially like that sentence: You have nothing (0). How do they know?  :)
Yeah, and it's also interesting that they say beforehand that a future date isn't worth any points. How can they know that? Do they have a time machine? I want one too!! :D

Ok, just now, I was doing my normal morning read of DC forum, and just noticed that I saw 3 consecutive posts (by 3 different members) that all finished with "" and had a very positive content.
It's just great to be able to wake up in the morning and see so much positive energy flowing through the threads of the forum!

So,
Thank You people!
and a big  41266066de38e38e-d412.png for you all!

I sent a couple of emails to AVG but have not gotten any return replies (so I would not recommend that anyone upgrade to the AVG Pro).
That's really not good news, thank you for informing us all about it.
Have you tried using Autoruns? For me, it's the best program to know what's starting with my computer. Just check out the "logon" tab, there probably is something there that shouldn't be ;)

General Software Discussion / Re: Vim 7.2 - Vista compatible!
« Last post by jgpaiva on July 12, 2008, 05:12 AM »
That sort of depends. When it's in Java, nothing beats eclipse, and I generaly program in linux for school work.
My coding snacks were mostly written in vim, though. In the beggining, I also used pspad, and recently had been using notepad++ because vim wasn't working in Vista. Now, I'll probably go back to vim ;)

Thanks a lot for the pointer, Chris. I'll give it a good read ;)

General Software Discussion / Vim 7.2 - Vista compatible!
« Last post by jgpaiva on July 11, 2008, 05:53 PM »
Ok, for those interested (if you're reading this, you proably are interested, right? :P), the new version of vim is Vista-compatible.
While previous versions had problems with colors, or just blew up with a few errors on startup, I just instaled the new version (which is in beta right now), and it looks like it works perfectly.
I imported the _vimrc I used in XP, and it found no problems loading it, I must say I'm pretty happy with it :)

You don't actually have to go without rebooting.
Just change the name of the executable to GridMove2.exe or something, I'm pretty sure it won't delete it then ;)

Can't wait for the new version - thanks and keep up the awesome work!
-Matt Caspermeyer (July 11, 2008, 04:52 PM)
:) I hope it'll bring some good improvements. Right now, I already have the "drag to edge" method working with multi-monitors, a long-overdue feature.
I also intend to clean up the menus a bit, improve the about box and hopefully add a "cycle to next grid element" feature that I think is really cool and has been requested a few times already ;)
(But shhh.. noone can know about this, it's supposed to be a surprise  :tellme:)
1237
Not again... GRR, damn! Antivirus programs frequently flag programs made with autohotkey, and yes, that's a false positive.
Thanks a lot for the heads up, Matt! Most people just delete it and go on with their lives, I'm glad you took the time to post here.
I have been making some updating to GridMove, and next week I expect to post a new version. This new version will be compiled with the most recent version of AHK, thus, it'll have no problems with antiviruses (at least, for some time  :'()
Sorry for the inconvinience, Matt!

Cleaner007: You only have made 2 posts on DC, both about the same software.
This raises some eyebrows because it is suspected of Spam.
If you're associated with a company, you have to be straightforward about it, and then, we allow you to make such posts.
What's really strange is that you didn't even spell the name of the software correctly in this post..  :-\ :-\

FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: Updated plugin: FARR MostRecentlyUsed 0.4.0
« Last post by jgpaiva on July 11, 2008, 11:15 AM »
phitsc: Looking at the config file, I found there were quite a few entries there. Maybe you could add one option in the plugin's main menu, that'd list all of those and would allow you to select it to see it's list?

I hope someone will post in this thread when that game comes out, I really look forward to playing it :D

Also interesting is their bussiness technique with this game, the are going to use microtransactions for people who want to buy customizations and stuff like that.

PS: we'll have to organize some battles here on DC! :P
1241
this is so true in mouser's case especially with the popularity of Farr. ;)
Yep, and it's a lesson for the future for us young programmers/software engineers!
I always think deep before adding any new feature to gridmove. And i already think i've added too many in the past :P
1242
See also Scanahand, a similar program (not web-based) by the same company and that DC had a discount to. (Not sure if it's still active)

toadloading: You can use the updater with no problems! It makes zero-impact on your pc, because it only changes stuff in its own directory, and you don't need to even start it, you can set farr to launch it like.. Once a day, or something like that. And when it finds some update, it'll tell you.

That really looks like fun!
The trailer is great, and if it's made by the same guys that made BF2, it probably has a great playability and lots of action :D

Right now, ctrl+c works for copying the path of the file.
I do agree that it'd be useful to use it as you mentioned, and moving the "copy file path" to ctrl-p (the same shortcut present in some file explorers).

I just hit the on switch and then go and grab a cuppa'. By the time I get back, my desktop is up and waiting - and I've got my coffee! And how often do most of us actually need to reboot in the course of a session? Dunno, I must be missing something. :)
(emphasis mine)
That's the problem, desktop users don't care much, but it's relevant for laptop users. I sure wouldn't mind if my laptop booted a tidy bit faster in those moments where i need it to show something important to someone ;)
(one could argue that the testings made only test desktop RAM, though.. Which would render my argument useless :D)

I'm not sure what's the intention of the site, but it does look different in Opera (has a shadow behind the text). :)
