Brilliant but it isn't as definitive as http://www.youtube.c.../watch?v=Cy5KjaAS7nY

Anyone any idea how to http://download YouTube videos - download helper doesn't seem to work any more (you just get audio)?

I found some results googling for http://EventType clr20r3
Seems to point to this solution
To fix your applications what you need to do is to look at your references (in solution explorer and in insertable objects) and make sure that you copy these dll's and dependancys onto the machine you want to install to and do a regsvr32 -i <dll>

Looking for http://system.invalidoperationexception I found a questionable fix from microsoft, but you might be able to get more out of that search.

fSekrit / Re: Beta: fSekrit 1.35 for your testing pleasure.
« Last post by justice on December 17, 2007, 05:07 AM »

justice: I can't reproduce the "save empty note crashes" bug with neither the version uploaded at the top of this topic, nor the development version on my harddrive. It's a known bug for earlier versions (fixed in 1.3) - if you can reproduce this with 1.3 or any later version, please tell me how - I get the "I utterly refuse [...]" messagebox as intended.
I download the version at the top of this topic, I extract it into a folder, I run the executable, i do Save as... test.exe, passphrase 'bla' (without quotes).. then it crashes with an unhandled  win32 exception:

If I debug with Visual Studio 2005:

Make sure you have the two "disable script debugging" options under
From the IE7 Toolbar there are two check boxes to turn off debugging.
Goto Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced.
In the second group, "Browsing"

I think some of the MS tools, when installed, toggle them off.
turned on, like e712 said. This causes the popups. If you do web development you might like them off however, I have the same problem in Filehamster. This is definately the solution.

edit: oops clearly foggy and too late.

General Software Discussion / Re: Software to help share files between home/work?
« Last post by justice on December 14, 2007, 11:42 AM »
I'm using jungledisk and because it mounts amazon s3 as a system drive you can use all the regular sync tools with it. For example I use Super Flexible File Synchronizer which means I can use it as a backup or directly open files from that drive in the associated application. It also means you won't lose your data. Jungledisk has its own autobackup functionality with multiple versions if you like.

I tried foldershare in the past but was not happy waiting for it to synchronize as I dont keep both my home pc on all the time. I've tried sync programs with my ftp space but I didn't like having to wait for the synchronization to complete, I want to be able to open my document at any time during the night and know that it's up to date. Jungledisk does that for me. However if you're directly open a 30mb zipfile and it happens it's not in the local cache jungledisk uses then it first has to download the whole file before you can open it, making windows explorer unresponsive. (on xp at least). It's expected I guess but it's only niggle for me.

there should be a focus queue (maybe with shortcut) and some visual /audio notification. like a system tray balloon + unique sound, there's software needing your attention click here or press ctrl-shift-alt-caps :P I don't think you should disable keyboard handlers for dialogue boxes though, they should just not get focus until the user tells them to. that's how i see it.

My other concern would be that it's raping the USB drive.  Those things really aren't meant to be used for random access storage; the flash memory would wear out pretty quick.  Unless things have changed dramatically in flash RAM technology...?
yeah they have modern flash ram can keep running for a very long time, wikipedia concurs:

With these mechanisms in place, some industry analysts[1] have calculated that flash memory can be written to at full speed continuously for 51 years before exceeding its write endurance, even if such writes frequently cause the entire memory to be overwritten. This figure (51 years) involved a worst-case scenario using specific data parameters and should not be confused with a particular "shelf life" for a flash memory device. The bottom line is that a typical user using a commercial device, such as a camera, with a flash drive will probably not wear out the memory for the effective life of the camera.

Mini-Reviews by Members / Re: XYplorer File Manager
« Last post by justice on December 10, 2007, 04:59 PM »
With Xyplorer can I queue file operations so that for example I can copy a folder over the network and when it's finished doing that move it to a folder on my backup partition? This is why I like Total Commander a lot, especially with file operations that take considerable time you can quickly queue all the operations then go do something else knowing it's all going to be fine. Also as it allows you to set the overwrite options in advance I don't have to check progress at all. After trying out the freeware version I have to say I like Xyplorer a lot though especially the searching is fantastic.

@ keepass Yeah I used keepass for what must be years now but it takes too many clicks to fill out a login form don't you think? It's just too much hassle to store new passwords in it due to lack of integration. And now that the new version is cross platform i don't see that change?

Passwordsafe looks promising then!

@ auto-tagging: add your songs to the media library. Select the songs you want to tag (preferably per 100 songs or so in case of instability -i had a few pure function call crashes with this), right click, Send to: auto-tag. Apply changes after you're happy with the results - it seems to be more accurate than musicIp the few times I used it so far - however YMMV. I assume this requires the track to be fingerprinted? not sure.

@audio fingerprinting: select one song in your media library - right click again, play tracks similar to <song>. The first time you do this a dialog with preferences will popup. If it doesn't check Options > preferences > plugins  > Media library > Nullsoft Playlist Generator and click on Configure selected plugin to access the settings (quite a find). If winamp crashes on exit then this is a known bug with this plugin - wait until it finishes or download the 5.51 beta from filehippo.

The crashes i experienced make me a bit hestitant to use it at this point but once these are ironed out it would be the best auto-tagging solution i know.

Sounds to me like he's bored of it but hopes open sourcing it might help others create better alternatives.. or maybe I'm completely wrong. Anyway that's pretty disappointing / exciting news.

edit: watch the video at the end of the article btw.

I agree with you too in principal. In an ideal world (or linux) you want to run it like that. However for people used to windows working the way it always has - as admin; and for people who think UAC is annoying enough, setsafer will get you at least 80% there with 20% of the frustration. :)

I've been in the same position :D fortunately I had a copy installed at work so I figured  it out from there. I think it's because only the label of the form group has the wording "system tray balloon messages" in them, not the actual checkboxes.

@ live messenger: when u use the close button on the interface it minimizes instead, you have to right click the tray icon and choose Exit.
