It is Firefox 43.0.1 not 43.01
US English release notes Firefox 43.0.1

Ah, MilesAhead beat me to it:
Just one item in 43.0.1 notes.  To do with MS signing blah blah

(Edit: although some may prefer yadda yadda)

https://www.mozilla....43.0.1/releasenotes/

Heh heh.  I don't remember such a small version number change.  But since it is one fix that may be the reason.  They might have waited for more stuff if it wasn't an MS compliance thing.

If I wasn't on a Laptop I might switch to SlimJet.  I occasionally use SlimJet portable.  But it seems to just pull down the battery enough even when plugged in that it sometimes kicks into charge mode.  The transformer on this Toshiba runs hot so I try to avoid pulling current.

I just updated SlimJet 5.0.17.0 to 6.0.8.0 and extensions and the rest seem to be ok.  I just extracted into the old folder.  I still don't use chrome sync so it's a plus if the browser will update similar to FF.

"In charge" and "shock" ???  I have to cast my volt against that.  :)

Not even Softpedia has it.  They have the download.  But only notes for 43.0.

I had to use Opera to be able to click on ChangeLog.  For some reason they stick a Licensing tag on top of it.  Weird.

There were a couple of threads about "path too long" error in the past.  I noticed this freeware to fix path too long errors.  The page seems to have quality freeware so I thought I would mention it.

Damn! You're either a VERY fast reader or you have a lot of time on your hands!

Slow reader with lots of time  :)
These are only @275 pp or so.  A good size for the suitcase.  Even hardback isn't too heavy to drag.  :)

What's an identifier?

From glancing at the EFF article it would seem that some sneaky embedded code is inserted in the print out.  Like Printer xyz25 at 11 main street print job sent by Susan Subversive on July 4, 2017.  And if they are sticking it in the hard copy you know it's also going in a db somewhere.

Seems to me I heard about something similar years ago.

Paranoia 50% off.  All these people are so neurotic over this terrorism stuff.  They should go hang out at the seaport, airport and train terminals of their city and see what hazardous stuff goes through al the time.

Then again maybe they shouldn't.  Homeland Security would be getting calls about legal toxic waste transport every day.  Look!  That garbage truck is transporting garbage!!  Who do we call?

I'm afraid many others will effectively disappear forever.

I think many of the AddOn authors got fed up when Firefox went into hyperversioning mode.  It's insane to break all that code just to have a higher version number in the About Box.  So now I wait to see what will be the new antithesis to chrome based browsers.  :)

I had In The Court of the Crimson King on vinyl.  The inside album cover had the lyrics.  I had them memorized back then.  I Talk to the Wind I enjoyed singing the most.

Brings back memories. A long-hair hippie-type band I was in going by the name of Babble-On (Har-har! Get it? God, we thought we were soool freekin' cooool!) spent about half a year getting 20th Century Schizoid Man down note for note. That was considered as badass a song as badass got back then. We used to do that number immediately before The End by the Doors - which is how we usually wrapped up our show. (Talk about a pretentious little bunch of jerks huh? Gotta love the late 60s and early 70s. Not.  ;D)

We were a fairly bad attitude bunch of young-uns back then.

Cool.  My two best buds in high school turned me onto The Doors.  All I had heard was some stuff on the radio like Light My Fire and People Are Strange.  They hipped me to the stuff they didn't play on Top 40.  I did see The Doors with Jim one time in Boston with my two friends.  We picked the wrong show since it was tough to get out of town out to the burbs by public transit.  We came out the door at the end of the first show and the entire square was packed with people waiting to get in for the second.  I think Jim was saving his voice since he had to do it back to back.  But it was a few laughs with him teasing the groupies and it was cool to hear the tunes live.

I think the musicians I never got to see play live that rankled the most were Hendrix, Miles, Trane.  Sonny Rollins played an outdoor concert in Fort Lauderdale(the one sponsored by Kenny Rodgers when he had the chain of chicken restaurants) and I didn't catch it.  When he passes away he'll likely be added to the short list.  I did get to see Jackie McLean there though.  Quite amazing in person.  There was this drummer in the band who must have been on supplements or something.  When the band wanted to chill for a few minutes Jackie would just point to him and the guy would do another psychotic 20 minute solo.  :)

Anyway, I never sang in a band.  Just in the shower.  Although I did pop off with a medley of Elvis tunes one time in a restaurant after a few brews.  The patrons enjoyed it.  A long long time ago.  :)

Firefox 43.0 stable on Softpedia.  I can;'t find release notes that aren't about the 43.x beta though.

Supposedly this is the last FF that will let you opt out of signed AddOn enforcement by using the about:config setting xpinstall.signatures.required

Watch out for this one though, if I recall, this is the one it stops being a warning and "auto -blocks" unsigned add-ons so I dunno what that means for various people. I certainly haven't examined my addons in detail ...

Firefox is undergoing chrome-itization.  Just like Opera.  In the list of releases upcoming for FF it says that AddOns will be using a new Webapi similar to chrome and Opera.  And Opera is similar to chrome, so they may as well just call them all chrome variants.

I never heard of it, since I don't use apps.  Well, maybe the weather app for a few seconds a day.  According to search it is a permission management thingy in Task Manager.  At least that's how the top google result phrases it.  It does note that a faulty app can cause it to use way too much in the way of resources.

Is it possible to play the tunes with a different app or even a desktop program?
If you have to use the specific app maybe you can get it to try an older version?
Maybe the old one won't be so buggy.. if the site lets you use it.

Installer automatically activates via embedded license key.  Lifetime license but no updates:
http://www.mostiwant...-version-serial-key/

Edit: It stipulates a 3 day limit to get/install.  So I assume you can download/install it up until Dec. 14 but see the page for details.

I agree that this WAS worth installing over the previous GOTD version.  Its portability is icing on the cake.  Loads a bit slow but still preferable overall to freeware AbiWord.

I am glad for the positive response.  I am likely to be only an occasional user.  But I signed up for the forum just in case.  :)

For the time being what I have decided to do it use DownloadThemAll to download all the zip files from my page.  Use Md5Hash to compare the zips with my copies to make sure none have been altered online.  Then I will scan the folder of downloaded zips with MBAM and post the date of the clean scan on the page.

I can't be chasing around scanners as another one pops into existence every day.  Also if I change one byte in the file it will have a different hash and thereby provide an excuse for a bad scan.  I can't email a copy of my program every time I make an edit to some central censor.  For now I'll go with MBAM and see how that works.

And you also have Peter Cushing

I think there's a government regulation you have to have Peter Cushing in there somewhere.  For many years there was a rule on American TV.  If you had a series run longer than 2 years John Carradine had to be in one or more episodes.
