Heh! I know you sing & all that. You start! :)

I write audio software for musicians, and I play guitar, but I'm out of practice and really suck, so I won't be posting anything. :P

Damnit...I forgot you knew about that haha

Challenge Accepted....with the ONLY recording I have of me on the laptop lol:

Very rough recording that I never got around to doing properly, so be gentle :D

Just wondering if any of you guys can sing, play guitar, piano...anything musical really!

If so...why not let all all hear you?!  Would love to hear/see some recordings of you guys!

Why would you use Software?  Why not blueprint it, or use general woodworking plans to do it?

um.. this is DonationCoder.com.. that's not the question we ask here, as you very well know.
the question we ask here is, given ANY activity, how can i maximize my use of software to assist with this activity.

Haha, of all the perfect answers, this one is the most perfect  ;D

Living Room / What are your favorite Tech News or Science News websites?
« Last post by KynloStephen66515 on September 19, 2014, 06:30 AM »
I am looking for some new resources for the Weekly Tech/Science News Roundup and hope you guys may be able to point me to some lesser known, but good sources!

For my current list, I use the following list (Sometimes others, and not always all):

Tech News:
  • BBC.co.uk
  • Wired.co.uk
  • Endagadget.com
  • TechCrunch.com
  • TheRegister.co.uk
  • CNet.com
  • TechRadar.com - No longer used as they have become 99% about Apple and don't really feature much else...gets really boring really quickly.

Science News:
  • Iop.org
  • Sciencenews.org
  • Sciencedaily.com
  • BBC.co.uk
  • Newscientist.com
  • Sci-news.com
  • Science.nasa.gov
  • IFLScience.com

Sooo, you guys got any I can add to my radar?! :D - I mainly need some cool Tech News websites as I do have a fairly extensive list of Science News sites already, but...the more the merrier!

Katie wanted me to pass on a message to all that have donated, or anybody who still can:

"Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.  It is amazing to see such a brilliant community of people who are willing to help when one of their own is in need!  I don't know how I can thank you enough, but please know that I will be eternally grateful"
-Katie

Thank you so much to my latest donor!

This takes my DC total up to $32.88 and the IndieGoGo is at $15

Donations via DonationCredits are not subject to the 9% fee over at IndieGoGo, so...those are preferable but I am very happy either way!!!

I know I am not at my target goal yet but I am sooooo grateful for the amount of help you guys have shown for me and Katie this far!

Not to side-track from the topic too much, but this is the kind of thing we see a lot of here for internal flights:

17h 30m duration, 1+ stops
Blackpool (BLK) to London (SEN) (London is still at least an hour on the train from the destination) - ... On the coach, that same trip is 11 hours...by train 5-6hours. - 17:30hrs is the type of journey one would expect to see when planning to fly to the other side of the world o.O

Airlines sometimes have special rates for flights related to family deaths -- you should look into that.

Coach or Train are the only realistic options here mouser - England isn't well organised for internal flights :(

The reason shops are more expensive most of the time, is due to having huge overheads to pay.  Things such as Ground Rent, Business Rates (Tax) and everything else such as shop fixtures and fittings making the place appealing to a customers eye...call centers don't have this problem on such a scale (All their operations usually take place out of a single building).

As much as I hate to do it this way, due to the circumstances, I have no other choice.

Last night we got informed that my FiancĂ© has had an unexpected death in her family.  The issue is, the funeral is going to be in her hometown which is 300 miles from our location.  Due to this, we simply cannot afford to go which is causing much upset with Katie as she was rather close to the family member in question.  As I do not get paid until the middle of next month I cannot think of how I can help her be there other than to actually just bite my lip and ask for help from people.

I have started an IndieGoGo campaign to help fundraise for it.  The ACTUAL target is around $320-$400 but IndieGoGo only allows a minimum of $500.

The costs involved are for Travel, paying a small fee for a dog sitter (we can't take him with us on the Coach which is the cheapest travel option) and any unexpected monies needed whilst there.

If anybody can help, I would be forever grateful.

Also, any monies donated over the target that we do not need (IE: Whatever is left after paying for last minute travel and everything) I will donate back to the DonationCoder site fund.

ANY amount would be very VERY gratefully received.  The campaign is "Flexible-Funding" which means I can have access to whatever amount is raised, rather than setting fixed funding target and not getting anything if it doesn't hit the full total.  Like I say, any help we can get with this is help we would not otherwise have had.

If anybody can help, the campaign link is: https://www.indiegog...ravel-costs/x/411159

Once again, sorry to have to ask, and thank you in advance to anybody that can help!  :-* :-*

I had to Google what Software you was talking about (This is a generic forum area)

You might have more luck by posting this thread into: https://www.donation...ex.php?topic=17814.0

Posting it just here may result in nobody of use ever spotting it.

Another example of corporate greed from Vodaphone and EE - rapidly heading towards a UK duopoly.

Cudos for Dixons picking up staff but it makes you wonder how long any of these third parties involved in mobile phones are going to survive now that the big brands want to move their sales in house whilst gobbling up the smaller mobile phone companies.

I'm actually more shocked that Carphone Warehouse are still in business...seeing as how they own possibly the worst ISP that has ever existed (TalkTalk).

For me though...EE is a network I would NEVER touch and wouldn't recommend to a single person.

In essence, none of this story affects me as I personally think anybody who buys an iPhone is just ripping themselves off...
