Hi, wallman2001, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

Hi...I have just started using your software and it is a great tool.  Just having one issue that I am not sure about.  I am searching for a show, i.e. Eye Candy  and it is on the TVdb site (http://www.thetvdb.c...;id=278448&lid=7) but it doesn't show it under the search, no matter what I try to search under.

This is due to the fact that the TVDB.com website search and its API search don't return the same results (for whatever reason  :-\).  What I mean is that you can search for "Eye Candy" directly on the site and it's listed in the results.  Searching the same string using the proper API doesn't return the show.  Rather frustrating for both of us, eh?

That said, if you're inclined, you can modify the appropriate profile file in your epCheck data folder and add the show manually.  Kludgy, yes, but it'll get you the show in your epCheck install.  Let me know if you can't figure it out and I'll give you a step by step.

Finally, if you're interested in testing the latest epCheck beta, read this post: https://www.donation....msg368839#msg368839

The APK installed and ran fine on my Moto X (2014) and my Nexus 7 (2013) both running KitKat 4.4.4.  I didn't totally try to stress test it but the small run-through I gave it seemed to perform fine.

Thanks For That Nice Tool :)

Thank you for your kind words.  Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with the Zip File CRC check as you're describing it.  Can you provide me with more detail (or an example)?

Hi, Gadgetman496 & kevlar_heart42, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

It's as if the date is incrementing but the name of day is not doing so until quite a bit later.

I've noticed this as well at times and, like you mention, it happens if the RSS feed is late/incorrect.  Fixing it might be a bit tricky but I'll see what I can do.

 Based on the recommendation in GHacker, I have installed sWeather. I agree that for a low footprint/high content application your software is hard to beat. Count me in for a donation after I futz around with it awhile. Many thanks -- all of my former "go to" weather applications got smashed when their RSS feeds were changed or became too costly. If you have a Beta program, sign me up.
-kevlar_heart42 (December 04, 2014, 09:23 PM)

Thank you for the kind words and donation.  They're much appreciated.  There is no official beta program, but I do sometimes release early builds that are announced on this thread.

I'm confident NirSoft has such a tool.

I'm only aware of NirSoft's ServiWin but I don't believe it allows you to save/load a profile whereby you can start/stop a list of services.  Were you referring to a different tool?

And there I was just making a joke about a possible mockup image  ;D

Nope, not a mockup image; I actually designed it that way from the start.   :D

Would it not be better to have the ability to chain from one profile to another rather than have one hotkey that calls two at the same time ...

That's how I had planned to do it.  That is, profiles would be executed sequentially, not concurrently. However, that does make me think that it might not be a bad idea for one of the profile "actions" to be the launching of another profile.  I'll give it some thought.

Say, Skwire, in the screenshot at the top, you have the sort-checked-to-top and sort-checked-to-bottom buttons in your toolbar.  How can I have that?  My commands are trapped inside a dropdown-menu-button.

I moved all the sort options to the drop-down button a few builds ago.

Also, I notice that "sort checked to bottom" also sorts the list alphabetically.
That is not what I expected - I expected it not to rearrange all my carefully organized list but to just moved the checked items to the bottom.  There is "sort alphabetically" if I wanted automatic sorting.

You make a good point.  Let me see what I can do.

Is there anything that will quickly allow me to toggle a bunch of services on and off?  For example, if I want to do a lot of photoshopping, I want to disable a bunch of unecessary services to speed things up.  Then I want to reenable them again once I'm done.  is there anything where I can make a few profiles or something and toggle them?

So, you can do this with a couple of batch files and the "net stop <service name>" and "net start <service name>" commands.  However, you have perfect timing.  If you can wait until next month, this is what I'm working on for NANY this year:

Splat_2014-11-20_144411.png

It's called Splat (Simple Profile Launcher Application Tool) and will allow you to build profiles that allow you create list of applications and services to start/close/kill.  You can insert delays based on number of seconds or cpu usage threshold.  Also, you can assign each profile a hotkey as well as use one hotkey to execute multiple profiles.  It's sort of like a GUI version of App's Lacuna Launcher.

Hi epCheck dev, the program is really fun, thank you for your hard work.

You're very welcome.  I'm glad you find it useful.  Welcome to DonationCoder, too.   :D  And, I'm sure Jim was being quite sincere about his comment regarding your post.  I agree with him; it's a great first post.   :)

For no apparent reason and at various times the tooltip for "Search and add series" will pop up

I see this as well from time to time and I'm 99.9% positive it's due to the toolbar class I use.  I can ask the toolbar class author about it.

1 ... The ability to add our own (extra) series images, abiding by the image dimensions already specified. I think you can but they get deleted when the series is updated.

Sure, this is absolutely doable and add to my ToDo list.

It would be pretty cool to mouse over any elipsed text and the full line is revealed, maybe as a bubble/balloon tooltip.

This is easily doable with one caveat -- when a window is set to AlwaysOnTop, the tooltip doesn't work.  I think it's a bug/limitation within AHK, so, if you can live with that, I can add that.

3 ... The ability to Search for an episode title or for an episode title keyword that appears in various episodes, similiar to Find, Find Next, (Find All in Current Series) - similiar to text editor functionality.

This has been asked for before but I held off then to allow epCheck to mature a bit.  However, it might be time to reinvestigate adding something like this.  I've added it to my ToDo.

4 ... Series and Series Episode "Details" buttons - highlight a series from list, click "Series Details", the details would be something like Starring, From/To Dates, # of eps, etc. Click an episode, "Episode Details" might contain guest stars, etc. Possibly this info could be user created and maintained, stored in a file, the button might bring up the text in the default text editor, maybe something a bit nicer, a nice dialog box with preconfigured fields that are read from a file that the user will maintain and edit with a specified layout :-\

I like this idea.  However, I doubt I'd make it user-definable since I think most of the data you want is contained within the XML data files.  If it's missing, say, certain guest stars, I think it'd be preferable to add that data to TVDB.com so that all can benefit.

It might be a few weeks before I can get to any of this, though.  Work deadlines this week, holiday next week, NANY coding in December, etc.  In the meantime, have you checked out the latest beta?  If not:

https://www.donation....msg368839#msg368839

I already incorporated your ellipsed/tooltip feature into that build.  Cheers.   :D

I guess it would be nice to (or have options to):
1. trim any digits off the end of the common prefix found
2. and/or not include any partial word (unless it is the FIRST word)

And the hairiness starts...   :-\

Hi, xd1986k, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :)

Hello. Would it be possible to add a feature to find common text between files and use that as an name for the folder?
eg we have  files
[Chemistry] Workbook 01.rar
[Chemistry] Workbook 02.rar
[Chemistry] Workbook 03.rar
So the new folder is named [Chemistry] Workbook.

This is doable.  However, in your example, technically, the common text would be "[Chemistry] Workbook 0" right?
