Oh. Dear. Gawd.  Did that really air!? It's not a brilliant spoof?

Not a spoof. It aired. And I absolutely loved it at the time~! :D (I begged and begged my mom & dad to let me see Star Wars, but no dice. So, a free holiday special was certainly better than nothing. Especially when you're just a little kid.)

You didn't... you did... dude, some things are better left mouldering in ageless sleep, never to glimpse the clear light of day for eons to come, some things should die and stay dead.  Why, Ren?  Why?  What madness has possessed you to awaken this vile stain on good taste?  There will be consequences, you can be sure of that...

Hmmm... no, but maybe this will do?

Hmm, I don't get it...  Any help welcome !

It was very nice thanks - in fact I've been twice recently and need to go back again at the end of November. I think I've covered quite a few of the items on your list by now   and found some pretty nice restaurants to boot. In particular "Toulouse Petit" deserves a mention.

Glad to help. Never heard of that restaurant, they come and go so fast nowadays, and I just don't make it across the water much.  My budget rather precludes nice restaurant trips anyway, but I'll check it out if I get the chance.
Did you get to see the King Tut Exhibit at Seattle Center? It's going until Jan 6 and it's the last time it'll be outside of Egypt, so definitely go if you haven't.  Went with my wife and son in September and my son got some great pictures.  I hear they banned cameras now; before they allowed cameras but no flash.

Drive down to Tacoma, go to this coffee shop called Satellite Coffee.  Get a cappuccino or a honey latte, enjoy!  I'll be there in a couple of weeks, and I'll be dropping by probably twice a day.

I don't make it down to Tacoma much either, but if I happen to be in the neighborhood, I promise to stop by.

In particular "Toulouse Petit" deserves a mention.

Well, yes, but the washrooms are too distant, necessitating a Toulouse loo trek.

I haven't tried to run this in Win7-64 Home Premium.

Give the time stamps, the files are certainly 16-bit executables, so you'll need to run them in a VM on a Win64 machine (Win7's WinXP mode should do the trick).

Wait for it...

Ok, I'll admit, it's the Fortran sources, and you have to use MinGW64 to compile it yourself.
It is a pitch black terminal.  You are likely to be eaten by 'f2c'.

EDIT:
Hmm... seems source code and DOS executables for some versions can be found here, along with some maps and advice. If you're into self-torture, you can attempt to compile the FORTRAN code, or take the easy route and run one of the DOS exe's in DOSbox which will hopefully eliminate the 16/64 bit problem.
There are also versions for TADS, Infocom, and Hugo interpreters, maybe try one of those, but my vote's on DOSbox.

I was able to compile the 'Adventure 4' generic C sources successfully on my 64 bit Linux machine, and it runs flawlessly.

Thanks for the heads up, Mahesh2k!
WAAAY cool, especially since my Lame Duck copy disappeared when I switched to Debian a couple years ago.
Yes, it works pretty good, much software that didn't run in Wine didn't run in Crossover either, but what did run, ran better and looked nicer (fonts in Wine are fuuuuuuugly).
FTR, I didn't notice any difference between the Game edition and Office edition except the splash screen.

All I want is Portal native. Gimme.

Thanks for the link Ath, I'd seen this on the blog a while ago, and emailed, but I didn't know there was an official entry.

@40Hz: I totally dig where you're coming from, and would abstain as well if I weren't so into what it means in the larger picture.  Yes, I've read the FSF's take on it, and even hammered on a few of my own points a few times, but what this means is more than just a few more registrations at the Linux counter.  Can't explain it really, but I feel this is going to be big...

Hinduism.
http://www.religionf.../symbols/trisula.htm
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trishula
The trihsula (also spelled trishul or trisula, Sanskrit for "three spear") is a trident spear that is the emblem of the god Shiva. The weapon symbolizes empire and the irresistible force of transcendental reality.

The three prongs of the trishula represent Shiva's three aspects of:
  • creator,
  • preserver
  • destroyer

as well as the three shaktis (powers):
  • will
  • action
  • wisdom

The fearsome goddess Durga also brandishes a trishula in one of her seven hands.

Seems to be a (relatively) recent addition, though:

IIRC there were a few ROMs available that the original companies had released as more or less "good will".  Atari, Namco, et al. have always been tight with their IP, including games hardly anybody plays anymore.
Then Atari comes back with a "2600-in-a-joystick" and you know what's going on...  They're all biding their time to cash in on the "nostalgia" market.
My favorite site for ROMs was shut down bit by bit, one ROM at a time until suddenly all that was left was a handful of screenshots and cab art and a big notice that they weren't hosting ROMs anymore. Can't remember their name, but they were based in Germany, so I thought they were semi-untouchable.  Great site for info though, even after they were shut down for ROM downloads.

Thanks for the kudos, but to be honest, mine was mostly an experiment in response to Mouser asking about a higher contrast button.
I'm actually still partial to app's original Cody icon; I dig the subtlety.

Maybe DC in block letters behind cody, or a color splash to the background?

OK, time to plug a friend of mine's work:

Mr. Right
http://indyplanet.co...php?products_id=5520
mrright.jpg

I tell ya, it's downright weird when someone you know personally turns out something really good, and my good friend from way back has done it with this one.
The comic grew out of a short story he got published in a local short-stories-and-poems rag in his hometown.

Basically, the story is that our protagonist James is a superhero via his magical(?) belt; a true-blue selfless defender of freedom and justice and all that.  One day his perpetual out-of-work slacker/moocher can-you-lend-me-a-five-til-friday brother Billy shows up at his apartment and glimpses James getting out of his superhero suit.  He puts two and two together and commandeers the suit and belt while James is out, and hilarity ensues as he uses his newfound superpowers to be even more of an ass.

My friend Kim is a big fan of the classic superhero genre, and he adds his own dark humor twist to it without straying too far from just being good fun.

If you've got access to a Linux box, try the icoutils:
http://www.nongnu.org/icoutils/

I've used them very successfully extracting png's from Windows icons.
Perhaps this weekend I'll try compiling on Cygwin to make Windows binaries for icotool:
The icotool program converts icon and cursor files into a set of PNG images. (Each icon/cursor file may contain multiple images, usually of different sizes and with different number of colors.) Icotool can also create icon/cursor files from PNG images.
Sound like what you need?
