Thank you mouser!
I'm sure the owners of websites linked on DC will be thankful too ;)

Oh, and thank you app for pressing mouser to do this!

Oh, it looks like I was preaching to the choir, then :)
Ok, glad to know that, and the advice stays for other readers of the thread ;)
Good luck on your search!

I figured it would be kinda cool to choose what button could be used to snap to gridmove the windows.
-paradoXmindset (August 28, 2008, 03:32 PM)
Yeah, it really is a good idea, and I can appreciate its usefulness.

....Also for some reason I keep calling the program GridView. :-[ sry bout that, I don't know why I keep saying that instead of GridMove :-\
-paradoXmindset (August 28, 2008, 03:32 PM)
Don't worry, GridView actually sounds way better than GridMove, I just wish you had come up with it one year ago :P

I agree, there should be a decent way to change key bindings in ff.
I think the day they really fix it is the day I'll move from Opera to ff (unfortunatelly, I don't see that day coming anytime soon!).
Also, alowing a mouse configuration like Opera would be really cool, it makes a huge difference!
1105
I think you can use httrack for that. Just pass it the page's address and configure it to download all the pages linked by that one at a depth of '1'.
If the page has other links not related to the search, they will be downloaded too, but I suppose you could delete those manually or something. I think httrack can ignore domains, so if those other pages are all in the same domain (the domain of the original page), you could just ignore that one and you'd get only the interesting pages ;)

I'm curious, would one be able to use wxWidgets and get the sort of GUI that blender has?
I'm sorry, I haven't been following this thread, but when I read this I thought I sould say something. I hope I won't say anything stupid for being out of context.

In my opinion, only on very special cases should people resort to using non-standard ways of designing user interfaces.
On most situations, it only causes lots of confusion for the user, and general catastrophe.
Also, programming this kind of interface is harder and more error-prone.

Just a heads-up ;)

ps: just noticed that f0dder already mentioned this in a previous post.. I should have anticipated that :)
1107
Here new version and sources.
Cool!

One thing that can be confusing is using a combo Flex+Bison, but without them I would write parser more longer :)
Flex+Bison? I've used that at school, interesting way of solving this problem, I must say. I wouldn't say it's code for begginers, though ;)
I see you had some serious work doing this (the fact you did it just proves that making grids for gridmove really is insanelly hard!), thanks a lot!!

The template looks more suited to applications than games though, but hey, one can adapt.
Yeah, it probably is. But still, it gives you a line of thought, and feel free to change anything, it's not like it's a strict rule, the idea is just to make it easier to create a review, because you only have to "fill in the blanks" ;)

Oh, and screenshot coming right up...
Cool!

PS: gridmove includes exceptions for middle mouse button specifically, but those are hardcoded, so, if you could make me a small list of the windows that cause you trouble, I could include those in the next release.

The main problem is with firefox (and also Internet Explorer although I don't use it).
-paradoXmindset (August 28, 2008, 01:32 PM)
Actually, if that's the only problem, it's VERY solvable :P
Just click and release the middle button, the arrows come up and you can drag it, then click and release again to stop. At least, that's how it works in IE, not sure if firefox can do the same.

Notice that gridmove only comes up if you press the middle button and move the mouse (or if you keep it pressed for a while), exactly so that it doesn't affect the normal working of browsers. Notice how you can still click with the middle mouse button on a link in firefox to open it in a new tab ;)

Thanks :)
I've been thinking that i might be able to post a new review every once in a while...
Both freeware and shareware. How 'bout that? ;)
That'd be great, everyone at DC loves reviews, that's what we're all about!

And thanks for moving the topic, didn't see this section before i posted...
Don't worry, that's what we're here for. Just worry about creating the content, we'll help you mold its look ;)
Also, 2 advices:
1 - people love screenshots, and
2 - check out the 'minireview template' in the 'add preset text' dropbox on the reply page, it makes it easier for you to write it and for us to read it ;)

Merleone: I'm not sure if you know, but you can open the "my_new_address" account by going to http://my_new_address.mailinator.com ;)
I use it all the time, but with 'bah', it's easier to write :P

Hi shook, and welcome to DC!
Starting out with a minireview.. Cool! :D

Here's 2 videos on youtube of people playing the game:

I love the concept, and it's really cool as the game acceelerates and decelerates with the pace of the music :D

Nope I can't:
That's pretty strange, I suppose the forum software is random :)
But don't worry, just edit your post to "please remove this post", or something like that and I guarantee you it won't last long ;)

Hello and welcome to DC!
The truth is that this is possible, but I hadn't thought about it.
It makes sense, because using the middle button for this can be annoying.
I'll add it to the todo list, and meanwhile, you can just add the windows to the exceptions.

PS: gridmove includes exceptions for middle mouse button specifically, but those are hardcoded, so, if you could make me a small list of the windows that cause you trouble, I could include those in the next release.

Hi arber!
The reason this isn't implemented is because it'd make the grid configuration files unnecessarily more complex, as few people would use this feature.
Some time ago, one member of DC did modify gridmove to include this feature, I'll PM you the download link ;)

It's good to know that the DC server is on very good hands!
Thank you for your efforts, Gothi[c]!

Also, how do you know the DC server is well treated? The DC server goes down, and mouser doesn't hiperventilate on the irc channel.
The peace of mind warranted by having a great sysadmin is definitelly priceless :D

Shades: put the lines inside a file, and pass that file as the second argument ;)

I'm not sure if I understand it correctly, but does this mean that people will be able to create plugins using html+js, for example?
I think that's the way opera went with their widgets, and I don't think it went that well. At least not in my case, I tested a few for a while but didn't stick to any of them.
[edit] On the other hand, there probably isn't any link between me not getting used to them and the language used to make them, which pretty much renders this whole post idiotic [/edit]

[edit2] I promisse I'll read the article before I post a reply. sorry for the unrelated post [/edit2]

remember those square little stickers on pcs that used to be all the rage.. we need some high quality cody stickers like that, saying something like "Cody Inside" :)
Yes, yes and yes!!!
I already have an apple logo to stick on my laptop's screen, but I need more stickers. A "cody inside" sticker would be just perfect!!
1123
I just gave it a quick spin, and it's VERY impressive!
It's easy to get the hang of it (or at least, way easier than I anticipated ;) ), and I was able to make 3 grids in like.. 20 seconds? :D
Congrats on a great work, xitsa :D
1124
This really looks good, and seriously simpler than the current method for creating grids.

I really hate the fact that it's such a pain to learn how to make grids, it's great that you took the time to make it easier for everyone :D
Thanks xitsa!

PS: did you make this with ahk? Maybe you could post the source code too? ;)
