Give Taskbar Repair Tool a try. Also, Nirsoft has a small utility, Explorestart, to kill all instances of Explorer and start a new one.

Sounds like a spam email... you might find this blog article an interesting read. Here's another one: Spokeo? More like Spooky-o; bad practice taken to the extreme.

See this thread for PlainCopy / PlainPaste script. Otherwise, you may want to search the Autohotkey Forum for "Copy + Paste" solution. Alternatives might be True-X Mouse Gizmo and X-Mouse Button Control (see pic below)

For Copy Files & Folders, I use FastCopy but you should search the DC forum for alternatives (TeraCopy and CopyHandler got mentioned a few times)

The other one would be good to send to someone who needs a simple one and don't know anything about installing programs. No install required, just download to desktop and it's ready to go.

Capture Master falls under the same free, little, portable application category.

More screenshots

How to use:

- Move the red box over the area you would like to capture (Hold CTRL key down and put the mouse cursor on the red border to start dragging).

- Resize the red box to fit the image (Click on the small black bit at lower right hand corner and move (in)outwards)

-Click on "capture" in the main Window and then on "save to file" (Bitmap, jpeg etc).

I cannot see that Flexible Renamer has been updated since May 2003 (except for addin of German UI in 2005) - is this program really to be counted among the best today?

Updated . Flexible Renamer v8.0 is out. See detaills.

hamradio, I have always loved Flexible Renamer since v.7.3, and that's over three years ago, but it has long been abandoned — at least it hasn't been touched since 2003.

Abandoned?... NOT... Flexible Renamer v8.0 is out. Lots of new features and improvements.

By the way, is there any way of reconnecting a device after ejecting it without having to pull it out of the USB port and replugging it back in?

I was looking for a downloader/installer/updater for the Nirsoft utilities set for quite some time now (and I was not the only one  :)) and today BINGO. Hope you find this script useful.

@icekin

Try with Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) first to unlock any file/process handles and then eject the device.

You may also want to check USB Disk Ejector. Command line added for coolness.

You should search the forum... this program was mentioned before.
