I only got xpdf tools for win32

Is there a specific reason why the data has to be embedded within the executable?

for archiving, portability, flexibility, availability, etc purposes

the documents (files) should always accompany the executable and should be immediately available
1080
- Do you mean you want the resultant executable to contain data as a resource within the executable?
yes

- static (the data will not be changed after compilation) or variable (self-modifying executable)?
variable

is the solutions software or hardware?
1082
okay, I want to do all the basic stuff, like text manipulation, calculations between numbers, dates, file operations, etc with as many functions as possible prebuilt, so I wont have to built my own

also, I want to interact with other GUIs (manipulate and automate them), do data binding easily, and ability to organize files

also, I want to easily create GUI

last, I want to save standalone exes and store files in them, able to take relatively big amount of data (some 10s of MB)

I still havent find a software that can do what I want:

- organize treeview entries, where treeview entry can be a text, pdf, doc, jpg, xls, etc
- open the files inside the program, in a view pane
- be able to edit the files inside the program
- be able to add notes
- save all the above files and treeview data into a single file

I recently figured out that reference management software may have similar structure, but I didnt find any (the internal viewer part is the hardest)

any hint?

okay, if I understood well, Splinter can do anything in regards to user-GUI interaction

can I close windows by clicking their taskbar buttons with right click and open the relevant context menu (which normally pops up when right clicking on taskbar buttons) by holding control and right click?

General Software Discussion / Re: Do you like CAPTCHAs?

I hate captchas

I once stated an idea, where a device on mouse or keyboard will recognize the fingerprint of the user, to make sure that it is human and also to lifetime ban spammers by their fingerprint (ensuring ofcourse privacy), but it wasnt received with much enthusiasm

okay, so this is truly cosmetic, with no functionality at all, if I understood well
the "next generation desktop interface" was misleading in my case, since I am constantly looking for an innovative "functional interface"

I still cant find a solution

there are various programs that display inserted files in a view pane, but they lack a treeview organizer/outliner and vice versa

I wonder if there is a way that I can easily and fast, create a program with those two features (and possibly others)

maybe create an xml file that can do all these, inside a web browser?

you are right, but there is a problem with inserting files

most of outliners have an RTF editor, which is good ofcourse, but they allow me to insert pdf files only as in MS Word:
Insert-Object.png
which results in a box, where either nothing of the pdf is shown, or at best, the first page of the pdf is shown

ability to view/edit doc/pdf/xls/txt/jpg/etc inside the program (in a pane)
ability to flageach entry in the tree, via tickbox, coloring, etc
ability to save inserted files

are all must

view/edit *all* those filetypes "inside" the programme - I doubt that exists.

but programs like Universal Viewer can open all that kind of files inside a pane

and edit?

okay, I can accept lack of ability to edit :/

but I need to view the files in pane
and to mark the nodes (treeview entries) with a status (completed, filled, empty, etc)
