Could be the mouse.
It's settings or driver.
Or try a different mouse to see if the problem is still there.

How long is the beta good for? Anyone know?

SoftMaker has their beta that will be active till 12/30/09

I wonder if MS has a limit...

Perhaps a better solution would be to set up a distidution site online, password protected for recipients. A different password for each receiver would open their folder/set of pdfs.

Email the link... maybe it's not doable and i'm way off thinking....

There should be some server space in a corp. I would think.
So not much expense.

It's nice to keep the older computer for a lot of reasons.
To remember how your setup was for one.
Testing programs and experimenting with whatever you want to.
As long as you have a good backup, or can reload it from scratch.
Play music on the old one, or run a pic slideshow or both,
while working with the new computer.
If there's room for it on your work area.

That's a nice computer you got for her!
Good choice.

I don't think any email is safe from being read by others.
Especially free email services, as well as other services.
If it's on the net it's in the open to be hacked as well.

But I do understand the major concern about google's use of gmail. And it's abuse of privacy by their own people and indexing and whatever else benefits them. I know for sure my email recipients names are intercepted by someone, as the spam has recorded.

Some kind of moral conflict there.

Maybe it's in the license agreement that it's free cause we use the info. I don't know, I didn't read it.

Important private info is best kept private, without a third party involved.

The "Google Pack" has Google Apps that include Gmail.
When opening that Gmail "app", it will ask if you want gmail as default. Click yes and it covers everything in and outside of the browser. Adds Gmail to the start menu as well.
The one thing is, it requires that you install Google Chrome.

This new version 4.5 seems okay.
It does not auto check everything on a scan, only high risk.
So looking at the hits is essential.

It also has active watch enabled.
If anything fires up as you are using the computer.

It's claiming better results then Malwarebytes.
But that would include false positives I'm sure.
As Curt pointed out.

Note, it flagged filedraft.exe as high risk and auto checked it.
filedraft.exe is not a risk.

https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=9500.0

Filedraft works quite well in fact.
Once it's configured correctly.

Wireless speakers would work I think.
Depends on the range you want.

BestBuy, TigerDirect and the rest I'm sure have them.
BestBuy had 11 sets to choose from online.
TigerDirect has 6 sets online.

You could make shortcuts to all the destination folders.
Put all those in a folder, open and drag and drop on the shortcut from your main dowmload/attachment folder.

Other then that, what email program do you use?
There are attachment sorters for some.

Maybe this would help, not sure....

So, with all this info, I would think you would not have to pay for the next years version, having already bought it once. They are operating as a beta product, seems to me. Without much changes that are worth the price.

Pay once and free upgrades. imo.
Because of it's shortcomings and experimental type releases.

Yeah the mousepad is different on the macbookpro.
Interesting even.

1 finger or two fingers operating it.
It knows how many fingers you have on it's pad.
It's a different way of operating the computer.
My son likes it a lot! He had a good wireless but opts for the pad.
I doubt if I would.

Not sure how that pad really works.
I've used a windows laptop pad and hated it.

I have the c-drive showing 10 gbmb unallocated free space with paragon.
MS management does not show it.

The seagate usb drive is reported correctly with both.

edit
Easeus reports the same 10mb uballocated and unformated free space.

It looks like what can be done already with collaborating document programs. Google docs or ThinkFree or many other collaboration tools.

Maybe you can add more to this type of communication.
You do have to email collaborators for the other tools,
but I expect I can add most anything to a doc in one of these other tools.

Still I think I'll check it out.

Here's more info from DownloadSquad.

A backup capsule is not needed with paragon drive backup and recovery 10. Paragon system backup and paragon hard disk manager gives the option for a folder of your choice.

With paragon drive backup and recovery 10, it took 45 minutes to do a full backup of 38gb. It's the same backup utility that is in the hard disk manager, of which I've done a restore from that took about 45 minutes.

It does the mbr, if chosen, and you can pick any partition or folders. Here's a review-

http://dottech.org/freewaresr/11487

MilesAhead, if you ever try it again, just choose a folder. I backup to a folder on my external usb drive. I don't know why the bc didn't work, but I only have XP. Wasn't that the system backup you used? Paragon system backup is a bit different then the hard disk manager or the drive backup and recovery 10.

Honestly, if mac could not run windows,
I would not even consider a mac system.
Unless they were FAR superior.

Funny, the mac users I know, who have always used a mac,
are frustrated with windows, and return to macs,
and that's not from just one or two people,
but hundreds of teachers I know in our school district.

And yes, Apple moved into the schools right off the bat.
Smart move, back then.

Weren't the Apple and Windows people together at one time?
Long ago?
Or is that my faded memory.......

« Last post by cmpm on October 22, 2009, 11:31 AM »
Yeah, I do a backup daily if not twice a day occasionally.
Depends on the changes I made.
New software installed or other changes.

Still using paragon sytem backup, of which paragon's hard disk manager performs about the same, I use it as well. I haven't done the blank hard drive yet though. I will when I get the drive and the energy-lol-both almost the same!

For the cost of the windows OS you can have both mac osx and windows on the same machine with a mac which has bootcamp already in the osx. Macs are made to run windows too, without any extra cost except the windows os.

Somehow I think that's an advantage...doh...

Switch os' almost like switching users, although you do have to reboot to load the other.

Might be able to run both side by side soon, if they haven't already done it.

Might want to be sure to have an uninstaller, before installing windows security essentials.

Like Revo.

http://www.revouninstaller.com/

Put it on "advanced" mode to get it all out.

Yeah, I tried it. Uninstalled it.
That's all I have to say about it.

I didn't label MS as the 'bad guy', sheesh!
They are just companies doing what they do.

Have to pass on the reading up,
I don't care, nor could I do a dam thing about it.

However, I do appreciate the info.

I just thought if you can put windows on a mac,
why not mac on the windows machine.
If they do it, fine, if not, so what.
I already said I'm a windows guy,
and I would like to learn the mac,
but I won't pay the price it costs for me to learn it.

My son, yes, majoring in Creative Writing,
any tools he thinks he needs I'll do my best to get it.

That's why I posted on this thread-
cause there is a mac user here close.
Told you why I got it and more.
Maybe get some OPERATING TIPS.

Then a witch hunt for a bad guy?
pffft bs and more from non-mac users
It's business as usual.
I'm throwing a few ideas around, get over it.
I don't have all the facts and haven't seen 'em posted here.
Like a mac can create a ntfs partition on any MS windows comp.
Why can't Windows do a mac partition?
Don't know. Some kind of "deal" in corporate computer crap.
