i think this is a great idea.. actually i was talking to someone else about the possibility of having badges for different programming languages that would indicate someone was willing to help others with that programming problems related to that language.

+1. But one question is language sub-forum here is not very active.

sgtevmckay, your idea is cool.
I think all those who have programs here (or on DCmembers site can create FAQ based on problems posted here and post solutions to that pafe as well. FAQ/Knowledgebase pages works well with forum support )

I still like the idea of your blog mod and giving everyone their own blog page, which can be combined to create a members mega-blog

There is separate edition for this by wordpress as "buddypress" but that will not be a good in terms of looks and structure. Maybe Blog like "Performancing" could do the job(Drupal used). I think if it works like Planet DC or something that aggregates content from multiple user/day could be better.

Back to the issue of whether we should host it as a separate wordpress blog vs. adding it to the forum
Let's keep forum content separate or that will make whole experience stale.

Indeed there is a member on the irc channel still struggling along on 64k. Is he being stubborn in not installing a 200mb framework?

Plus, you can add the fluctuations of data transfer on 64kb line and many times installer getting nervous and not moving further  ;D What about that?

One more point to note that if you bundle the framework with application then what will be the size of that app? and how much you're going to compress it? and if you're developer on that 64kbps line how you gonna upload it to web?  :P .
