Another idea for booting a thumb drive for surfing is Puppy LinuxIt's a good idea MilesAhead.
I made a bootable USB and not only does it boot but you can set it to save Linux config changes on shutdown. Also it is very easy to get the WiFi working. There is a gizmo in the system tray for it. If you google you should get a step by step how to initialize the WiFi in Puppy Linux. If you set it to save config info to the stick you only have to do it once. I did it some time ago but it must have been very easy since I don't have any memory of it being annoying.

We all know you can use all the help we have to offer, please help us helping you by a) not flooding your threads with small bits of non-related info, b) give complete details about the issue at hand, and c) give straight and simple answers on any question asked (like tomos requested)

And install several virtual desktop utilities like Virtual Dimension and others.Knowing this from the original post would have been very helpful in tracking down the cause. In Process Explorer you have a symbol on top that looks like what you see when you look through the visor of a rifle...the (infamous) cross-hair.
You can drag this symbol over the window that you have a problem with and when you release the mouse button, the process behind this window is selected in Process Explorer. That should make the "hunt" much easier.-Shades (August 14, 2017, 09:42 AM)
