i stumbled upon "dark theme material pro":

It looks a lot like the dark theme that comes built-in with the Brave browser.

I've been using this for years and it has almost always been great. A big thank you to scancode for making this useful little utility.

But I just tried to use this with another fairly large (~116 MB) file, but smaller file than my previous attempt, and got a different error:

Error while trying to write the file, aborting.

Suggestions anyone?

Continue using Tor browser for your liveleak visits.

Thanks for reminding me that I still need to try out NextCloud. I never did much with the free provider I signed up for because I didn't trust them with my data. :D

What are your syncing/sharing needs? Mine are fairly simple, and I don't need a lot of storage space. And I don't really sync data between many devices very often these days. It's mostly either cloud backup or sharing files.

I've been happy for years using BitTorrent Sync (v1.x) for sharing/syncing large files as needed. (I have backups of the v1.x installer files if you need them.)

I use Keybase for a few public files, but mostly for some private backups of important, but not huge, files.

For one-off sharing I've recently discovered and started using Firefox Send.

And of course, I do still have and use Dropbox, but that's mostly out of momentum (i.e., laziness).

How do I set up Brave to work with TOR; I tried to duplicate the LAN settings but it's not connecting.

Brave has Tor built-in.

I just noticed DuckDuckGo is a verified website, so I sent them a little tip.

I'm surprised they weren't included in my auto-contribute, but I guess that's because of the way I configured auto-contribute to ignore sites I don't visit for longer than 1 minute.

In the ~2 weeks since enabling Brave Ads on my browser, I've clicked to see about 100 ads, earning me 5 BAT (~$2).

In my first full month of using Brave Ads/Rewards I earned almost 30 BAT, which is close to $9.75 at current prices. Combine that with the fact that the minimum monthly automatic contribution per month is 20 BAT to the various websites I visit means that if I continue earning about this much BAT per month then I finally have a way to automatically contribute each month to sites I visit without having to manually pay from my own bank account to top up my BAT wallet.

It looks like Brave is finally starting to deliver on the initial promise(s) of BAT!

And it seems that about 80% of my monthly contribution is earmarked for DonationCoder. :-*

Has she considered something like a Surface Pro? It has a small enough form factor that she can easily tuck it in her backpack and take it virtually everywhere, but it's still a powerful enough machine (if you're willing to spend the money for the higher tier models) to do most anything she'd want.

After watching gameplay, I wasn't prepared to even spend $1 on a steam key.  Maybe it gets more interesting.  But the Let's Play on Twitch was more boring than watching paint dry.

Yeah... It definitely looks like a niche game.

So this is strange.  Jalopy is free on Humble Bundle for [...] the DRM free download.  But you have to pay $1 to get the steam key.

That's to cut down on Steam Key re-selling fraud, I guess.

Guacamelee Super Turbo Championship Edition is free on the Humble Store for the next couple of days.

Must redeem the key on Steam before May 23.

*** Please note that the ‘Super Turbo Championship Edition’ of Guacamelee! is an updated version of the previously-released Guacamelee! Gold Edition. ***

In other words, if you already own Guacamelee Gold Edition (as I do) then this is still a "new" offering that may be worth claiming.

I'm not sure what canned pork has to do with anything.

Sorry. That was my subtle way of hinting that I felt that Swift_Man's response could be spam.

EDIT: In the end I was proven right. That user started posting spam links in their later posts.

As it's so simple to use and making it more convenient to organize than Trello.

I've never heard of this one. I have a hard time imagining anything in a similar vein could be simpler than Trello and still function. Trello is fairly bare bones when it comes to adding and managing boards, lists, and cards.

Anyone else catch a whiff of canned pork-product here?

Sounds like something you could do pretty well with a Trello board.

You could keep all future ideas in a list entitled something like "To do" or "Future Issues" and when you actually follow through with them for an issue you can move it over. For the current/in-progress issue, you could either make a list for each specific issue (e.g., June 2019) or just a list called something like Current Issue, and drag your items from the To Do list onto the current issue list. Then once the issue is published and work begins on the next, you can either move everything from the Current Issue list to the Done or Past Issues list, or if you use a unique list for each issue, you could just create an e.g., July 2019 list and go from there.

It's easy to collaborate with others. You could assign each card to whoever is working on each item, or just keep a note of it yourself in the card details if you or your contributors don't want to or can't join the Trello board for whatever reason.

Here are a couple mockup images I made to show off what I tried to describe.

Kids Magazine - Generic Months.png
This is the generic lists example.

Kids Magazine - Specific Months Extended.png
This uses a new list for each specific magazine issue.

And keep in mind that the basic idea behind Trello is to have 3 categories of lists: To Do, Doing, and Done. Of course you can name them whatever you want and modify the basic structure however fits your needs, but you certainly don't need to use the Trello software to do this.

And if you find that Trello is a bit too simple for your needs, you can find something similar but with a bit more complexity in Hack 'n' Plan.

Is this true for anybody else?

It is for me on DuckDuckGo.

Maybe you need to add a section to the license key page specifically mentioning that you don't provide license keys for Pokemon Go and perhaps also mention that DonationCoder doesn't support illegally obtaining/sharing license keys.

I have verified a DonationCoder page for Brave Rewards.

Awesome!

In the ~2 weeks since enabling Brave Ads on my browser, I've clicked to see about 100 ads, earning me 5 BAT (~$2). This month, those 5 BAT will be designated to be contributed to various websites and YouTube creators' channels I visit, based on how much time I spend at each site.

If mouser would hurry up and verify DonationCoder to receive BAT contributions then this site would be the first of all the sites I've visited so far to be verified and actually receive the contributions designated for them. Otherwise they stay in my wallet. Or, in the case of the free BAT grant I received, the funds expire from my wallt and are given back to Brave to give out as grants to other Brave users.

Publishers must verify ownership of their properties with Brave in order to receive contributions from Brave users. If a publisher has not verified ownership, then a user’s contributions will be held in reserve inside the browser for 90 days. The browser routinely updates an internal list of all verified publishers to determine whether a property can receive contributions. At the end of the 90 day period, any contributions marked for unverified publishers will be released back to the wallet. No funds leave the browser except to go to verified creators.

It's been 19 months and this thread is still relevant ... mainly because, as usual, nothing was done using the info given in it ... this is going to turn into another 5 year thread, isn't it?

Don't suppose we could merge them?

Merged.
