http://www.dd-wrt.co.../index.php/Index:FAQ

www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/stable/dd-wrt.v24/Broadcom/Linksys   Follow this link. You cannot use this link to goto their download page but use the titles in the link to go to correct page. Check out your model number and revision by looking at the bottom of your router. probably you will need to download mini bios version first. If bios is not compatible it wont upload to your linksys which is what happened to me at first.

This free bios just rocks, it is stable, nicer interface and robust features that is not available under shitty linksys firmware, this is like a ferrari compared to linksys gm cars.

Guys please try the bios I linked in my previous post. I had the same issues now my 150n has not disconnected for a month(normally it would disconnect 2 times a day). dd-wrt has way nicer interface also upgrading is as easy as upgrading native linksys bios firmware.

use http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv3/index.php  bios. It resolved all my frustrations with linksys router including the issue you were having.

I have custom aliases that would call some exe files and pass some arguments. At the moment Farr cannot auto complete them with tab anymore. So I cannot pass my custom arguments. And tab completion is checked in the pref.

Sri sent me an invitation so I gave it a try

- It looks like you cannot share any other folder than "my documents" which is useless to me. I personally never use "my documents".
- Beta is limited to 5g, again it is useless to me. So I could not actually try it with real project files and folders.
- Other than issues above it seems to work.

Find And Run Robot / Farr is not very responsive when it is searching
« Last post by kartal on June 23, 2008, 03:05 PM »
When farr is searching directories Farr becomes very unresponsive and most of the times "Esc" cannot even stop the search. And I would find myself waiting Farr to finish the search next 1 min which is waste of time pretty much. This is very visible during a "deep search" when Farr cannot place the keyword within the history and that is the time it starts directory searching. I am hoping that there would be some improvement at some point regarding this issue.

General Software Discussion / Re: Virtual Webdrive for everywhere
« Last post by kartal on June 23, 2008, 12:45 PM »
You can try powerfolder. I like the software but I think that their pricing is little too high for me (30$ per computer licence). As far as drive lettering goes, it does not provide a letter. But you can use virtual drive mapping programs to create a drive letter for syncing folders. Their software is java based so it works on all the platforms.

Maybe they can offer some discounts for DC users?

Sorry about that I thought that it was for hiding any start menu item since it actually lists all the programs under "start menu".

Find And Run Robot / Using tab to complete an alias is stopping the search
« Last post by kartal on June 20, 2008, 10:27 PM »
And this is causing a massive slow down of invoking and running of the alias. Basically I have an alias setup here which I use to pass an argument to an exe file. In the previous versions once I press tab to complete the first hit (an alias in this case) I could pass my argument and search would never occur after tab. Right now search is not stopping. I am using 2.10.01

Find And Run Robot / Re: How to get best juice out of FARR?

Just showing the farr window is slightly slower. It is not a killer but there is a difference between instant pop up and slow pop up.

Well having a long history list makes Farr window a slow opener. When I have a shorter list Farr opens way quicker. Is there a way to keep history launching long but keep the showing history short?

In your case, Kartal, I'd say that your history list is quite (too?) short. Mine is 990... And farr opens instantly. Why would it slow it down? If your list was a bit longer it would allow farr to remember

I am yet having small fonts problem when I use internal viewer :(

Mouser is there wa way to tell if Farr is using 32bit or 64 bit version of Iex under 64bit xp? Would that be a problem?

Find And Run Robot / Re: How to get best juice out of FARR?

Does Farr keep history items forever even if the user limits shown history to 10-20 etc? I am talking about "max files to keep in launch history". If it does not keep them then it would be a problem. I personally keep that list short (20) so that when I invoke Farr it opens quickly.

For example what happens If I search for an item that I succesfully launched 3 months ago and never used since then? Is Farr supposed to find it right away?

Where is (2.10.01) ? ANy change list?

thanks

My searches are 85% of the time the way Armando described, it is slow :( I hate indexers but seriously application launching is blazing fast with any of those :(

Mouse if you can give us some tips or tricks toi increase the speed of searches that would be great.

Here is a good one

Usb EJECT

http://quick.mixnmoj...com/usb-disk-ejector

It has command line

"A program that allows you to quickly remove USB devices in Windows. It was originally designed to remove only USB pen drives but will now eject any USB device. It can be run as a non-visual command line program or a normal gui program. Its very useful if you have a USB flash/pen drive, especially if you use a menu such as PStart or the Portable Apps launcher.

The command line options are very flexible, they can be used to:"

Well maybe that is the main problem that is causing slow search hits that people(including myself) are reporting.  The funny thing is that Farr is sometimes very fast sometimes very slow(even sometimes searching the same item) and I myself cannot pinpoint the issue.

I assume mouser's recommended heuristic score settings are the default settings, actually ;)

No I do not know the answer but I was hoping that someone like mouser could give us some straight tips for increasing speed of search especially. It would be great if someone can give us the best heuristic score settings.
