N.A.N.Y. 2012 / Re: NANY 2012 Release: MPH (Media Player Hotkeys)
« Last post by skwire on February 25, 2015, 10:32 AM »
Hi, captain1701, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.   :D

I have just a small problem with the usage under Windows 7 x64. I setup four actions (play/pause, show/hide, previous and next) but only the first two are working with Windows Media Player.
Previous and next don't jump to another song, they just jump inside the current song.

I just tested it with Windows Media Player v12.0.7601.18150 under W7/64 Ultimate and it seems to work okay.  Which version of Windows Media Player are you using?

    * Renamed a few of the Edit menu entries.  (Thanks, ScreenManiac)
    * Attempting to paste entries while the checklist list is focused now pastes
      into that checklist's list.
! Cutting from one checklist and switching to another would erroneously
restore the cut entries to the original checklist.

Nice tool.

Thank you.

It were nice to have thumbnails, but that's probably not easy to implement.

I thought about this when I was writing it and maybe a second window that would display the image would work.

What would help also, however, were a bigger font size (optional).

Added in the latest version.

Any way to pass a directory to it via command line? Maybe even with a filter-parameter to show image files only?

Basic commandline handling has been added as well.  The app should already restrict files to only the following extensions: jpg, jpeg, bmp, gif, png, tiff, & ico

Drag&Drop across lists - that would be awesome, to quickly re-organize stuff and outsource it to another list.
ATM this only works via Copy&Paste, then going back to the source, hopefully recalling the entire selection, and deleting it.

Hmmm...I'm not sure how you'd go about dragging and dropping since you can only view one checklist at a time.  You should be able to cut entries and then copy them into a new list.  However, I just found a bug where cut entries are restored to the original list when selecting a new list.  I will fix this.

Also, I struggled a bit with the right mouse menu, took me a while to realize that "entry data" refers to exactly what it says, the data within the entry, not the entry item itself. It was not immediately obvious because using Ctrl+C to copy/paste the selected item elsewhere does work as well, although it seemed iffy (you have to exit and restart to see it actually did work)

Based on what you're saying, I think you have this backwards.  The "Cut/Copy/Paste entry data" options manipulate the entire entry (check state included), not the data within the entry.  If you want to copy the textual data within an entry, you have to use the "Copy to clipboard" item in that menu.  Perhaps if I rename as per the following, it will allay some confusion?

Cut entry data -> Cut entries
Copy entry data -> Copy entries
Paste entry data -> Paste entries

Copy to clipboard -> Copy text to clipboard
Paste from clipboard -> Paste text from clipboard

Thoughts?

kalos, as has been explained already, you have two choices:

1) Run the "limiting software" on your router since it's the head of your network.  And, by "limiting software," I mean you would configure Quality of Service on your router.  This is the preferred option but, of course, this assumes your router supports QoS.

2) Run some limiting software (like the aforementioned NetLimiter) on EVERY OTHER DEVICE in your network EXCEPT your laptop.

That's it.  Those are your two choices.

Hi, newlexicon, and welcome to the DonationCoder site.

Hi! Would anybody be able to tell me what token to input in order to have my music sorted by artist AND create album subfolders within each artist's folder?

Please read through this post here: https://www.donation....msg182194#msg182194

Let me know if that answers your question.  Keep in mind that you will almostly certainly have to use a different template for multi-artist or various artists albums.  My advice would be to start small and use the "Copy" mode so it doesn't mess with your original files.  That way, you can get an idea of how the application works.  Also, make 100% sure that your files are tagged properly.  I cannot stress this enough.  Garbage in, garbage out, as they say.  =]  Let me know how it goes for you.

I have "Request every # of days"  set to zero (disabled) and use the “Refresh all series data now” button every couple of weeks or so.  Do I understand correctly that though the status bar shows it's checking those long ago ended shows in my "Legacy" profile, their data is not being downloaded again and again?  Related to that, a continuing series, say for example one with six previous seasons, downloads only the when-made-available data for the seventh season?

The "Refresh all" button refreshes everything regardless.  The "Refresh every # days" asks the server which series have been updated within a given time frame.

Wouldn't epCheck need to handle just the USA zones and the Arizona no-DST odd-ball?  Just curious; no pressure.

No, as there are epCheck users outside the U.S. and plenty of shows are non-U.S. shows as well.  It's on my ToDo but don't hold your breath (because I'm certainly not  :P)

1.1.5.166 is working great.  How goes 1.1.6?  Soon?

I haven't added anything since 1.1.5.166 so it's the latest.

Could make a way to select individual series or a profile from the “refresh all series data now” process?  I have a profile, Legacy, where I've placed about 20 old series (i.e. Rescue Me, Firefly) so I can jog my memory on certain episodes, seasons, whatever.

I have no plans for such a feature.  However, the "Request every # of days" option is a sort of "smart" option in that it only updates series that have changed (based on what TheTVDB.com returns) so you might consider using that.

I won't bother you with yet another request for other-than-EST time zones.  Oops.  I just did, didn't I?  8)

Timezones + Programming = Kill me now.  Take ten minutes and watch this.

What, BTW, is the purpose of the @ column and its ballot boxes in the episodes panel for each series under the Series tab?

Those check boxes are there so you can keep track of which episodes you've watched (if you so desire).  I think the @ symbol looks somewhat like an eye and thought it appropriate for that column.

I use UK Sky router
I don't think it offers anything like that
isn't there a software that will mess with its firmware?

Are you asking if you can run an alternate firmware on your router?  If so, I have no idea without a specific router model number to reference.  Do a web search for your router's model number and see if it's supported by DD-WRT, OpenWRT, or Tomato.  I believe those are the top three alternate firmwares out there these days.  However, I don't think most "standard ISP issue" routers are supported, though, so don't be too disappointed if yours is not.

For the record, I have an ASUS RT-N66U router running the Tomato by Shibby firmware.

Typically, something like that has to be done on the router itself using the router's Quality of Service (QoS) settings.  Keep in mind that not all routers support this and, even when they do, it can be a hit or miss affair.  Also, it's sometimes called Class of Service (CoS).  Good luck.

Skwire Empire / Release: Arti (Aspect Ratio Tool for Images)
« Last post by skwire on February 09, 2015, 11:56 PM »
TitleArti (Aspect Ratio Tool for Images)
Description Small application that lists aspect ratios for images. Exact ratios are listed in addition to a nearest match ratio based on a configurable preset list.
Supported OSWindows 7.  Probably works, but not tested, on Windows XP/Vista/8/10
Website:http://skwire.dcmembers.com/fp/?page=arti
HistoryChangelog
DownloadArti.zip
Screenshotmain.png

Introduction
There really isn't much more to be said than the description above.  This app was written on request from a photographer and its main focus is to quickly view the aspect ratio of images loaded into its interface.  There are columns for exact ratio (determined by straight math) and nearest preset match which can help to see the nearest aspect ratio for files that aren't pixel perfect.  The software comes preloaded with a large list of aspect ratios but this is entirely configurable.  Of course, the more aspect ratios, the more accurate the nearest preset match is going to be.

Features
  • Load images via the menu, toolbar, or simply by dragging and dropping files or folders.
  • Standard listview interface (column widths and order are saved)
  • Export to CSV function
  • Always on top button

Installation
Download the zip file and extract its contents into a new folder.  Run Arti.exe to start the application.  Add some images and behold.   :P

This is exactly what I was looking for.

Good to hear.  I'm glad you find it useful.

Edit: Solved!I had to save it outside of program files. Works perfectly fine!

If you want to run it within that folder, just run it with administrator rights.

It would be nice if the columns automatically resize to take the space available.

Well, crap.  For some reason, I had that option commented out in my code.  I added it back in.  Here you go:

any more info about that? (couldn't find it - "Windows 7 Application Launcher" is a very generic name...)

Thanks for telling about SPLAT; Skwire hasn't fully update his homepage, so its "home" is not listing SPLAT.

Look forward to it.

You mentioned malware.  However, please keep in mind that whatever I come up with isn't going to handle any sort of binary file input (if that's what you envisioned).

BTW: Have been using epCheck for some time now.

Good to hear.  I like the way that app turned out.  If you're brave, feel free to try the beta.

If I can find some time, I should be able to do this one.  How patient are you?   :P
