Let me articulate myself better then. I was talking about browsing spesifically browsing like in explorer, for example e:\program files\farr is a standard file and folder browsing. This is the kind of seperation I am talking about.

1002
I like that Farr keeps all browsing and execution history. But history list is wasted way too quickly then. That is causing Farr to expire the items(exes, aliases) at the bottom of the list earlier if one uses Farr to browse for files and folders  as well.

1003
v2.13.06 is broken.

-Auto completing works
-Adding extra space after completion is gone
-Launching from alias command list via f keys is gone.

It feels like it is reverted to couple version back
1004
My aliases are working. I have tried aliases with different structures. Would you mind posting yours so we can test them?

1005
Well I was hoping that you would have put something along the lines of "I am the greatest I am mouser!" :)

543 doesnt show anything, but i have heard that FARR knows about pretty people and good music..
1006
Have you tried typing 543 in Farr?

Mouser this update is better and thanks for adding the "space" to alias completion
1007
Actually it is broken. Auto complete works but this time if you have aliases that lists multiple commands, you cannot launch them anymore via F-keys or ctrl+numbers. This is the case for aliases without any regex so barebone list  what I am talking about here. Or just type "news" and try to launch any of them via keyboard.

mp3tag is great!

I personally do not trust page ranking stuff anymore because they can be spoofed. They also track your browsing habit which could be called invasion of privacy. There is dmoz.org maybe plugin can match the results to dmoz.org listings as well.

Without loading the page, you wouldn't know what it was about, hence you wouldn't know if it was useless or not.

not quite true..
if you were willing to place trust in other users you could have a community that ranked links on pages, and fetched those ranks from a central online repository, and then showed numerical scores next to each link on a page.  it's a cool idea.

I liked the way it was before the latest release. If you can revert back to that that would be fine. But personally I would like it to behave more like launchy as far as tab goes.

In Launchy you can use tab to auto complete and pass arguments, I will try to demosntrate how it could be below

simple example
goo (tab)->google (tab)->"search item(from this point only space should be used for seperating words)" (enter) ->search starts

example with argument passing (passing 2 arguments to an exe file for example sendemail.exe)
sende (tab)->sendemail (tab) ->"first argument(whichs is $$1)" (tab) ->"second argument(which is $$2)" (enter) -> arguments are passed to sendemail.exe

Now in the second example tab is used to seperate arguments also. So I can have $$1=this is a long sentence argument, $$2=this is another long sentence argument
Because of of tab usage Farr could distinguish between arguments by looking at tab usage before and after rather than spaces. At the moment because of spaces in long multiple arguments one may need to write more complex regular expressions to seperate and pass the arguments to executables. I just think that introducing tab as a true argument passer will make life way more easy in many cases.

Let me know if this is well articulated or not. If not I can maybe make a video.

wow, that is what I call simple and effective. Neat application

Back to the original question, I have been having really good luck with http://calizo.sourceforge.net/ from the open source community.  Really pretty cool stuff, a timeline that is zoomable

Yes progress? Bugs are there to be bugged :)

I am using xp zero config but I am not happy with interface. Which software do you use to manage wireless connections? I have tried couple like Manage engine, wireless network ignition etc. But I was not happy with any of them.

Suggestions?

Urlwolf

Wikidpad is for you. The only thing that would be problem is web clips. This is doable because Wikidpad offers edit and preview modes you cannot see html pages in  edit mode but in preview page you can see the html is you can copy paste the html of the selected web clip. Probably there is a firefox extension for that.

They have done some serious butt kicking work in there that puts all those big companies in shame. God knows how many hours I have lost because of needing to reset my router.

I agree,  just watch-listen him and make up your mind.

before anyone starts to reply -- no politics please.. let's keep this on carlin.
if you didn't agree with his politics you probably also didn't find him funny, but we might all agree it's nice to hear someone speaking his mind in an age where we all normally have to choose our words so carefully.

no typing loc does not stall Farr. The problem is loc with options in this case "loc -lfd -p". This forces Farr to search plugins because it seems like Farr does not recognize "loc -lfd -p" as "loc" with search options.

why not try using an alias, that way you can also assign different keywords to different options. just a thought.
 (see attachment in previous post)
btw, Farr doesn't stall when i type 'loc' on my PC. assuming that your shortcut starts with 'loc'.

Lanux I am using shortcut and I have "loc -lfd -p" in the shortcut text field. What happens is that Farr searches for plugins for a while before letting me type.  Probably there should be a better way to invoke it.

the problem I have with locate plugin is that when I start search via plugin it hangs for a w hile because it is bringing first hits. Is there a way to disable such behaviour?

I use loc -lfd -p for full search

as Armando explained above with Farr incorporating the Locate plugin, you can have the best of both - live & indexed search!
