Drag&Drop Robot / Re: Request - Filter when dragging files
« Last post by imtrobin on September 18, 2005, 01:07 PM »
When I use "Recurse Files - All Levels", it adds all the files into the file list. I like to have a way to filter that.

Say I drop a top level folder, and I only want to get *.zip, but that folder has lots of other types of files as well.

Hi

Like to make a feature request. When I drag folderx into DDR, I would like to have a filter to run on the files to be added in to list. Difficult to add? Thanks.

I'm not sure if this is an intended feature of ContextMenu Commander, but this tool, Mmm, allows hiding of the context menu, and it's so cool..

Best Archive Tool / New Tool - CompreXX
« Last post by imtrobin on September 06, 2005, 01:46 AM »
Hi great review on the archivers,

I just found this tool on the winzip slashdot article a few days ago, I think it's a winner over winrar. Why? This archive allows you to explore archives as they were folders (much like winxp zip folder). I was asking for such a tool in another thread, now I found it

The version 0.7.2 was freeware, the new one is now shareware.

General Software Discussion / Re: Favorite ZIP/RAR application?
« Last post by imtrobin on August 25, 2005, 11:38 AM »
Okay, I mis expressed myself. I'm looking for a program like how WinXP zip folders work. Explorer can open the zip file like a normal window. Is there one for rar files?

General Software Discussion / Good Folder Printer

Hi,

I've been looking through a few file/folder printer, and can't find one which does this. Basically, I want the output of the folders to be printed with indents eg.

If the folder structure is

 C:\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3\file.txt

Then the output file format (txt or html) looks something like

  C:\
       Folder1
           Folder2
              Folder3
                   file.txt

Anyone has a recommendation for such a program? Preferably freeware.

i'm just wondering, is there an application to display rar files like a folder. I find rar compression much better than zip, and thinking of converting all my zips to rars.

Drag&Drop Robot / Re: Getting folders only
« Last post by imtrobin on August 11, 2005, 12:46 AM »
thanks :)

I'm haven't investigated this yet, but does it take into account of the return value of the command line program?

ie. most programs return 0 if successful, or some other int otherwise.

So if the return value is an error, then print out a large warning red text in the redirected window.

Hmm, I encountered a situation where the %NO doesn't work... when my folders have . in them.

The %NO options aren't documented.

but you want to provide a commandline option to winzip to tell it only to store RELATIVE directory information?
is that right?

No. Actually I'm using winrar, but it is the same principle. The folders I drag in has the C:\Folders\folderA, and using %2 passes the whole string in meaning the zip file has a structure like so

Folders
  folderA

instead of just folderA. The %NO option works perfectly. thanks!

Drag&Drop Robot / Getting folders only
« Last post by imtrobin on August 09, 2005, 10:51 AM »
Hi,

I have question on using Drag Drop Robot 1.08 to zip up files. The sample shows using %2 as a source parameter to the zip program.

When I drag folders into DDR, it becomes like this e.g

c:\folders\folderA
c:\folders\folderB
c:\folders\folderC

What I want is to zip up the files without the C:\folders\.. ie only relative directory structure.

Anyway I can do that without putting all the folders in C:\ drive?

My suggestion, although may not be trival to code. I like to have desktop icons behave like the Start Menu button.. so I can categorize my desktop icons and have it open links to other programs when I click on it.

One thing I'd be extremely interested in is PIMs, (Personal Information Managers).

I use this. Only down point is you cannot add unicode text, otherwise great!

I like to suggest Font Managers. I been trying so hard to find one that can read unicode fonts, but no avail.
