Hey,
just updated from Windows 10 to 11 and deactivated the print screen key for the snipping tool:
https://duckduckgo.c...eactivate&ia=web

But this key/shortcut does not –––- ah, now in a second try it seems to work and is assigned to ScreenshotCaptor ...
... hopefully in the long term.

Okay, then a "workaround solution". Thanks!

Is there really no other option than switching between two ini files to switch between with and without "special effects (options)"?

I've just installed the beta version on a second PC again (https://www.donation...dex.php?topic=3474.0, »Download beta version (4.38.0 BETA) from here«)

Result: 4.39.0

Screenshot Captor / version 4.39.0 ?
« Last post by mtemp on November 01, 2020, 05:27 PM »
Hi,
I have installed version 4.39.0 – but, hmm, I can't found this version as a download on this site. Therefore, where is this version?

Hi,
I am switching between capturing as PNG and JPG very often – solved:
https://www.donation....msg353906#msg353906

Is there such an option/parameter/trick available for switching "on demand" between screenshots with and without "special effects"?
Usually I have a shadow and white border around my captures (via Special Effect Options). But sometimes I want to have my shots without these effects.

And, yes, one workaround would be two setting files (ScreenshotCaptor.ini). But a command line or similar would be better – or simply the best (solution) ;)

Thanks (for your work & help)!

Screenshot Captor / Shortcut for Copying bitmap of screenshot to clipboard ?
« Last post by mtemp on October 06, 2020, 12:48 PM »
Hi,

after editing a screenshot (e.g. highlighting an area) I need the bitmap in the clipboard (for copy&paste purposes).
I'm not a mouse fan ;)
Therefore: can I define a shortcut for doing this?

Thanks!

Screenshot Captor / selecting a region slow/delayed
« Last post by mtemp on February 25, 2018, 07:15 AM »
Hi,

tried to create this short screen video to demonstrate the "slowness"/delays by selection a region – my cursor is always much faster than the dashed rectangle...

Win10, fast PC ... (latest version of Screenshot Captor)

Esp. selecting larger areas is very slow and therefore difficult to select exactly the region I want.

Only on my machine?

thanks!

... why not just for "fixed size region"?

But now it's time to say good night – here in Germany :)

I need such a "ratio cropping" not after making the screenshot, but as a capturing option.

Why? Because I have to try out several browser sizes for capturing a selection with the ratio for Facebook articles (1,91 x 1), so that I have all the things of the web webpage arranged/positioned within this specific proportions...

I am wondering why this option is missing in this powerful tool which I am using since several years..

thank you!

Hmm, am I in the wrong forum?

Or didn't I find the option?

Or have I hold a special key by using »Grab Fixed size region«? I tried Shift, Ctrl, and ...

Thanks!

Screenshot Captor / Capturing area with ratio?
« Last post by mtemp on November 03, 2015, 02:50 PM »
Hi,

e.g. for screenshots using in Facebook as article image I need the option to capture an area with a ratio of 1,91 x 1

... like in Photoshop:
2015-11-03_shot_004.jpg

But, ah, this is not possible yet, isn't it?

Thanks!

... I do not like & use the red box, too ;)

But I tried this option. Result: I can't resize the red box proportionally by holding the ALT key!

Sometimes I make screenshots (in different sizes) for facebook article images -- ratio: 1,91 x 1. Now I make a shot greater than the "needed" area, opening the file in photoshop and do the rest...

Okay. But if Captor is opened and I run the EXE with the command line (via "Windows, Run") then the Captor window flickers -- that's normal? A little bit irritating... ;)

Screenshot Captor / Re: Feature request: quickly switch between PNG und JPG

However, i could add some ways to send a signal to SC (via second instance commandline option) to do things like this (switch format or do a change of format).

Am I right that I can change the file format via commandline -- eg "ScreenshotCaptor.exe -format png" -- only by restarting Screenshot Captor and not "silently" in the background?

Thanks again!

so, this is possible only within ScreenShot Capture and not during capturing?
