That's odd. I visited the site last night and got no warnings at all from my AV or AS.

Also, I just looked up cameldisc.com at SiteAdvisor and it has no problems listed at all. Only Google has a problem with it. I think it may be a false positive.

Good man, Tom!

It actually looks pretty nice. However I am doing fine with SoftCAT Plus for my installed software catalog/database, Collectorz.com for DVD Movies, CDs, and Books, and WhereIsIt for all else. Can't fit anymore cataloging applications!

Tomos, related only as registered user. As for viruses I think that was false alarm, I use NOD32 antivirus and it remains silent…
As for this program – I switched to it from WhereIsIt. At that time WII has problems with Unicode and I have many MP3 with Unicode names and tags (Cyrillic and hieroglyph symbols). As it allow only 4GB of catalog data for test (in age of DVDs?) I don’t noticed that problem and buy it as WII have many powerful features (but so ugly and complicated interface…). Then I found CDC, tested it and bought it :-) They constantly release new version and become better and better (and may be complicated too… illness of all big soft).
P.S. There are very communicative support, I send them several bugs and suggestions and they FIXED it. Also little tip if someone will decide to buy it. I am negotiated a 40% discount $-)

J-Mac, you right. When I switched, I has something about 100 DVD and it is takes significant time to rescan it. Now I have more than 1000 DVD's and 3TB on HDD's and will not rescan it even if I will find better cataloguer.

But there are always new users who seek such software - for them I recommend to try CDC.

The Crush-Disc Cataloger development V3 has started and so I hope to see more wishes before it´s too hard to implement them. I think about continuing an old development thread or opening a new one for it.

Crush has posted an .exe of his Disc-Cataloger

Only to show I´m still working sometimes on my Disc-Cataloger (it´s not dead!) I decided to prove its incredible speed (I used it as base calculation in former benchmarks at the beginning of this thread) with an old tester. This should be a little bit faster than the version I used for the posted benches, but my newest routine is even faster.

My goal is something in the style of Lazycat, Locate32 or Everywhere but with different new features and an unbeatable search speed.

I only want to mention that I sent an updated version of the disc-cataloger-list 4 months ago to tomos - he know´s the right way to update the list here. In the meanwhile I´ve updated it again. Some of the old entries have been updated and there are new entries... it´s still growing. I also sent a benchmark-list to him for a release (comparison of the searching speeds of different programs and different versions of some programs - some are getting slower and slower like WhereIsIt?).

Btw.: Ups... Sorry, I collected and tested Camel Disc Catalog in the past but forgot to include it in the list (or lost it somehow?). It impressed me with some new features no other cataloger offers.

I knew this would be a problem eventually:-

lack of time - it's actually a hugely time consuming job to make any more than minor changes to that list;
lack of interest: I only started this cause I was researching one for myself - it's hard to keep the motivation going almost two years later.

Initially the idea was discussed of a wiki or posts that would be updateable by more than one person but I guess that's the limitation of having something like this in a forum ... if anyone has any creative ideas about this please speak now
