Donating with Paypal doesn't work

I wanted to donate today via Paypal.
I got to the Paypal site, I log in - and I always get
We are sorry, we are experiencing temporary difficulties. Please try again later. If this error occurred while making a payment, avoid duplicate payments by checking your Account Overview before resending a payment.

that's happening the whole of this week

Paypal seems to be working ok for me..


I'm always suspicious of such messages on websites - they often can be translated into:

"We're sorry but something on our site is broken. Please complain loudly or we will never fix it."
