VERY Useful Firefox Extension - Cooliris Previews

I just came across Cooliris Previews, a Firefox extension that has amazed me in less than 10 minutes of use.  Even lets you sticky the preview window. SO helpful for browsing DC very quickly and efficiently

try Browster. however i think it works only for search results..

Cooliris has a version for IE. Not yet compatible with IE7 though http://www.cooliris....ite/download-ie.html Will install but not working. Also limited features compared to the one for Firefox.

I installed Cooliris in FF 1.5.0.8 - it's pretty neat, no denying that.

After a few hours of use my system started to slow way down - I checked memory usage and saw 360 megs for Firefox!  A few open/close cycles showed that with Cooliris installed, Firefox was using about 200 megs more RAM at startup than without it.

Without Cooliris, it's very unusual for FF to go over 125 megs on my system, even after a full day of use.  I decided that, for me, it's almost as convenient to just open a new tab to take a quick look at a site, so I got rid of Cooliris.

I haven't noticed this in Firefox 2.0. Maybe this issue would be resolved by upgrading? Understandably, you may wish not to, though

I upgraded when 2.0 first appeared, but it broke Tabbrowser Extensions (I know, TBE is buggy, a resource hog, not recommended, causes a million problems, etc. - but I love it   ).

So, I reverted to 1.5.0.8 and am doing great.  I'll keep 2.0 in the back of my mind.  And also Cooliris.

FWIW, as a long-time fan of TBE, I found that the latest Tab Mix Plus lets me do most of what I want while preserving the integrity of FF 2.0

http://tmp.garyr.net/help/ sorry looking page but take a look at the PDF file showing off Tab Mix Plus. TBE users need convincing  Extension is very actively developed, see forum - owns tab market as TBE once did.

Whatever you are missing after TMP you can get elsewhere - almost, TBE still has some unique stuff I guess.

  Thanks guys! I tried <a href="http://www.browster.com/">Browster</a>on IE 6. It works but only on a few sites. Still, I got the fun to play with it.  The problem was that I could load the links way faster in another instance of IE than what the pre-view could load 'em. If that makes any sense...lol

Sweet! I'm going after <a href="http://www.cooliris....ite/download-ie.html">it</a> right now! I refuse to let IE7 take over my system after I tested Beta 2. I love tabbed browsing, so don't get me wrong, Maxthon just makes me way more happier on that end.

Well, after a few days, I am still avidly using Cooliris. 

I find it perfect for search results, forums, digg articles... anything which is a list of links. I'm just glad I can install it at work otherwise I would now feel strange using a browser without this kind of functionality
