Search input field Unicode support (lack thereof)
« on: September 20, 2019, 11:11 AM »
Hi,

I use a somewhat unconventional keyboard layout, which is a U.S. English with a whole additional layout (Russian) stuffed into the Caps Lock state. Not too unconventional, actually, as some keyboard layouts that come with Windows are made that way (Inuktitut and others).

In FARR, when I type with Caps Lock state toggled on, I only get question marks in the input field. If I get it right, the search input field doesn't support Unicode input.

Is this by design or can it be improved?

As you've surmised, FARR does not support unicode.  It's unfortunately an aspect of the code that would be very hard to change. :(
