That's an auction that still under way for another 4 days or so (same seller), so who knows how high it'll go.  I'd bet that whatever price it bids up to, the transaction won't end up actually completing.  

I find it interesting that the current top bidder has only ever bid with this particular seller.  Sock-puppet?

Yeah, there's a lot of fake bidding going on. So when ebay list "average price" all their real items appear to be cheap.

When I was looking for a Nexus 5, there were a lot of them for sale around $850. No-one bought them, but they made $500 seam cheap.

That's probably what this guy is trying to do.
